Great Product! Exactly as advertised! Beyond impressed...

I don't normally write lengthy reviews for items but I feel this one deserves a little more than a few stars and nothing more. The product arrived just as described with a few dings and dents so no surprise there. In my opinion they add character, now I won't feel so bad when I add my own scratches and dings. After all it is a heavy duty pelican case and it should look like it can handle what I throw at it. The foam was easy to pull and shape according to the item stored (Celestron NexStar 6SE telescope and motorized mount) which doesn't contain many straight clean lines. Now I can sleep much easier at night knowing the OTA is protected by a little more than packing foam inside a duffel bag like my last travel setup. I just can't say enough about pelican cases, I am in the military and we utilize these cases all the time. I have seen some get pretty torn up cases and the contents never have a scratch or speck of dust on them. I wouldn't recommend anything less than the best for anything you value and need portable, heavy duty protection for. The shipper deserves even more credit than I can give. I am stationed overseas in Italy and require all online purchases sent through the US postal system via APO/FPO which normally takes 2-3 weeks to arrive. I don't know how they did it, what magic they conjured up but this item was ordered on the 20th and in my posession by the 25th. I can't even get holiday cards through the mail system that quickly, so you can imagine my amazement at such a large item arriving so quickly. I will definetly do business with this company again and would recommend anyone looking for quality products that match their description and are handled by no nonsense professionals to work with them as well. Thanks again!

Very Durable Case

I use these cases to ship equipment all over the world. They hold up very well considering the abuse they get from the airlines and shipping companies.

Great protection for your gear

Pelican cases have a great reputation for protecting expensive and sensitive gear, and it's for good reason. The 1610 case lives up to this reputation. I have two of these for transporting video cameras and accessories. After plucking the foam to perfectly fit my gear, it all fits snugly within the protective cushion provided by the included interior's protective layers. After the investment in equipment, it makes sense to spend a little more to protect it. Have used other Pelican cases for meany years and nothing has ever been damaged while in one, and even the oldest cases I have barely show any wear.

just the perfect case

I bought this case to fit in some of my lighting gear that I have to got on location. Could not be happier! As with all Pelican cases, they are made from great quality materials, everything is built very solid and made to last. It has a carrying handle on top, bottom and side plus it has an retracting one when you want to use the wheels like the pilot cases. In normal use you will never push this case to it's limit, it's so well built and solid. I'm 225 pounds and I can easily use this case to sit on or stand on. None of the materials use can corrode, I often take my pelican cases to the beach or they get in the rain. If they get dirty you can just hose them down and don't have to worry about ruining the wheels or hinges. If you are still undecided, just go for it, I promise, you won't be disappointed.

Great Pelican 1610 case, just be aware of bottom foam.

This is my 4th Pelican case. I know its amazing quality and very durable. The only reason I gave this a 3 star is because unlike other Pelican cases, this case the bottom layer that is touching the bottom of the case is not a fully covering the entire area of the case. I don't know if this was a bad design flaw or Pelican just went cheap but they just have a square in the middle which leaves some areas exposed. In the past I have seen other cases where over time the pluck n foam will start to sink in where the areas are not supported by the bottom foam. Also I didn't want whatever I stored to hit the area where it wasn't protected. I had some extra Pluck N Foam and decided to fill in the rest of the areas. I still love the case and wont go with any other brand. I will post a pic of before and after I filled in the empty areas with more Pluck N Foam.

I have been eyeing on this case for a while and finally got it when it's on sale during Thanksgiving. It's a Pelican case! No doubt this will be super tough and durable. It has enough room to hold my Phantom 4 (include controller and 2 batteries) + Canon 80D + Gopro 5 (with a selfie stick). Love it so far. The only drawback of the case is its weight. It's quite heavy, the weight of empty box with foam is ~22 pound (10kg). If weight will be an issue. You should be consider the Pelican Air line. However, there is not yet a similar size to 1610 yet as of Dec 2016

Top quality case. Thickness ensures safety of whatever items you may need to use this case for. Wheels create easy mobility for high weighted items. Foam is of good quality which is cut-to-fit. Quality ensures security of your items within the case. The foam conveniently includes perforated square segments that fit into places that you may have made to big when cutting shapes for your items.
