So far so good
Edit #2: I wanted to give this another 50-plus days before going back to re-review. I've put my review up to a 4* now, because when it works it really is a seamless part of my Homekit security. Every product has some bad apples in production and I suspect my first one was one of those. Since I had to pay to send it back, and for shipping a new one I'm going to leave it at a 4* instead of 5*, but I suspect if I'd have gotten a good one off the bat it would be a solid 5* in my view. I've read bad reviews about Netatmo customer service, but I have nothing bad to say about them. They were responsive and fixed the problem, even if it was a bit of a hassle in shipping. Edited: After ~50 days I've been informed by Netatmo that the logs from my camera show that my product is "defective"(it keeps falling off the network and reconnecting, nearly 100 times a day) and since it's outside of the amazon return window I will have to pay both to ship mine to Netatmo as well as to get a replacement. I've downgraded from 5 stars to 1 for now while I see how it all plays out. I would definitely not recommend a $300 camera that doesn't last to anyone else at this point. I will update accordingly after seeing if the new one works for more than 50 days and how the process works out. I've had this installed for a few days so far and I'm quite happy. The install was very easy. Both physically and software set up was a breeze and it added right into HomeKit with no issues. I had one hiccup with the way it interacted with my wifi after a day and customer service was immediately on top of it, and when I had further questions I got a response from an "engineer" within Netatmo in a couple of days with an apology for taking so long. I've had my eye on a few Netatmo products, and while this is my first I doubt it's my last.

Great when it works
UPDATE 11/22/18: After replacing the SD cards in all of my Presence cameras everything was working as expected. However, yesterday the iOS security app was updated to version 3.1.4. Now, none of my cameras can play back the videos. It just shows a black screen with the timeline playing in reverse! Another failed update of the iOS app makes me wonder how much testing is done before the release? ================ Original Review: I own 5 Netatmo Presence cameras and just purchased a 6th one. I originally purchased one camera to monitor the front door at my cabin in the mountains and liked it so much that I purchased more for both of my homes. Getting videos of animals in my yards is very helpful as is seeing when deliveries are made. I even captured a bear nosing around my front porch and raccoons destroying my persimmon tree. Installation was fairly easy. I figured out a better way to hang the strap (after attaching the ground wire to the top screw). One major omission in the instructions is that your mobile device with the Netatmo app MUST be connected to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. I also have a 5 GHz network in my home which caused major installation issues when my phone reconnected to it. Trying to reset the Presence with the scan code can only be done in certain lighting conditions and can be a challenge. I could not get the reset to work at night with artificial lighting. All of my cameras disconnect frequently from the network, even when less than 10 feet from the router. They generally reconnect within a few hours. This occurs even when the cameras are the only devices connected to WiFi. Because I have so many cameras, I get lots of false alarms for people. The “people” are actually shadows. I had to turn off the alarm for cars because i was getting alarms for cars even when my car never moved in the driveway. The latest software upgrade seemed to mess up all of my cameras. I was getting a sparodic black screen with a QuickTime symbol that was not documented. Now the cameras frequently try to play the video backwards - which fails. I have always been able to download the videos to my mobile device to view them, but that is a pain. Contacting Netatmo support is a terrible experience. My first support ticket was lost and when they contacted me saying that it was lost, I immediately replied and did not receive a response. As more cameras failed, I sent 6 more emails before I received a response saying that they were aware of the issue and were working on a software fix. Unfortunately, their fix did not work. I am in the process of replacing all of the original MicroSD cards with 32GB Class 10 cards that are rated for surveillance cameras. They are definitely much faster than the card that came with the camera. All of my cameras work great with the new cards, and no longer have read errors. Only time will tell if this is a solution. The original SD cards were fine for about 6 months before failing. Most of my cameras are under awnings, which didn’t seem to make a difference. SanDisk support said that they will only warranty their “High Endurance Video Monitoring Card” in the Presence security camera. I was going to replace the cards with “Extreme Pro” cards detailed in another review, but could not find a reliable seller for 32 GB cards with an A1 rating. Netatmo says that 64 GB MicroSD cards are not compatible. The Presence camera is very expensive and is not very reliable considering the price. I like that there are no monthly fees and I like the quality of the videos. There are too many false alarms for people and animals, which takes me a lot of time to play and verify. Worse than that, I can’t play back half of the videos and have to download them to see them. I hope that my replacement MicroSD cards will fix my recording problems. After spending several thousand dollars on many Netatmo cameras, I really hope that Netatmo can find a engineer that can address the camera firmware errors.

Works surprisingly well
I had a lot of apprehensions given the reports of the camera not lasting. It's too early for me to tell how reliable the camera is. However, I am pretty happy with the camera functionality itself. It does a really nice job of showing a timeline with thumbnails of what it has detected. I am finding rabbits in my backyard on a daily basis. Even though the rabbit is a tiny sliver of the frame, the Netatmo shows a thumbnail zoomed in on it. That means that I can quickly at a glance see what happened without viewing the video. If you click on the thumbnail, the video player initially shows the entire frame from the thumbnail, saving you from playing the video if that's all you needed to see. So far, the Netatmo has found rabbits, birds, and maintenance folks. It properly categorized them all as people, animals, or things. It even categorized the lawn mower as a car, which I thought was funny. I was pleasantly surprised that it caught someone I didn't expect, which ended up being the fertilizer guy who comes unscheduled. Luckily, the app lets you decide when to record and when to be notified. By default, it doesn't notify of animals, so I only see the animal videos when I choose to. There has only been false alarm so far, which was a spider crawling up close to the camera triggering the motion sensor. I just purchased the Ring Video Pro camera for the doorbell, since Netatmo's is not available yet. I was sure that Ring would be better given how popular they are. However, the app does not show any thumbnails at all. There is no way to see what happened without viewing the entire video. To see the video, you have to subscribe to the $3/month plan, which you have to pay a year in advance. The Ring camera also has tons of false alarms despite me turning down the sensitivity to show only people. Cars moving, lights turning on and off are all enough to trigger alerts. Also, it takes a while before you can see new videos because they have to be processed in the cloud first. Netatmo's local storage is a huge advantage in that scenario. I will likely replace the Ring with the Netatmo door bell camera when it's finally released.
