Exceeded Expectations

I have a slew of baking pans, but I didn't quite think the ones I own would quite work for the butter cake I was making. I found this one that had better height, and was a good price. I was extremely surprised at how sturdy and high quality it felt when I actually received it! In the end, it worked perfect for what I needed, and I've donated most of the rest of my baking sheets because this is the only one I need now! (other than 1 smaller one for when I need to bake 2 things)

Simply the best!

I have done a lot of baking through the years, and there isn't a pan that compares with this one. I own two, and have bought them as gifts. The lack of seams in the corners makes it easy to clean. This pan will not warp in the oven like many others. I will not buy another brand of bakeware.

Great quality pan, though a little smaller than my older ones

I purchased this pan to add to my kitchen alongside my 3 other pans. I selected this one because of the excellent materials and construction. Honestly, my only disappointment was that it was slightly smaller than my other jelly roll pans when I received it (I had measured my old pans and swear that I ordered the same size of this pan but assume that they may have measured differently than I did). Overall the pan is excellent and I won't be sending it back just for a size difference. Compared to other pans out there, this one has excellent construction and will stand the test of time. You won't be disappointed!

Design issues

While this pan was sturdy and would probably last for a long time, I did return it. The rolled edges were unfinished and open underneath, trapping water which took a long time to dry. This is a breeding ground for bacteria. I also did not like the slightly sloped sides, and the logo stamp which announces on my baked cake that it was baked in a Nordic Ware pan. Disappointed!

Very Difficult to Clean

These pans seem well made. They are a nice heavy weight, and they did not warp in a 475 degree gas oven. I love the size, too! I bought the jelly roll size, and it is the perfect size for 1-2 people. Two of the jelly roll size would be better than the half sheet size in my opinion. They fit in virtually any normal size oven, and they are easy to store, too. I awarded 3 stars for all of these reasons. The only complaint I have is that they are impossible to clean. I lined my pan with some aluminium foil, placed a wire wrack over the pan, and then placed some salmon pieces wrapped in foil with seasoning and olive oil on the wrack. Unfortunately, even though I used heavy duty foil to hold the salmon pieces, they leaked oil, and the thinner foil I used to line the pan did not protect the pan as I had hoped it would do in case anything leaked. Olive oil ran off the sides of the foil and down into the pan. Later, I had a similar thing happen whence I reheated fried chicken pieces in the exact same way. I soaked the pan in hot water with good dish soap and scrubbed with a nylon bristle brush and a sponge. The baked on brown oil would not come off. I then soaked the pan for a little while in hot water with OxyClean, which usually will lift off almost any soil. It did not help this pan, though. It even seemed to take off the finish at one end of the pan. Next, I very lightly scrubbed one small spot with a Brillo pan. It took off the finish. Finally, I gave up and sent the pan back. If the pan was easy to clean or even hard to clean but you could still get baked on food off safely, I would award 5 stars without hesitation at this price point, but what good is a pan that cannot be cleaned?? Who wants to use a pan with big brown baked on spots all over it? The more you used the pan, the worse it would look. This is not good. If someone can tell me how to safely and completely clean these pans without removing the finish, I would be grateful and buy them again, but I would not buy again or recommend to anyone else for this one basic reason.

No warping, perfect size

I've been looking for a sheet pan that is in between a half and quarter sheet, but not non-stick. That's a hard thing to find! But this is a perfect size, and very sturdy. It hasn't warped even when roasting veggies at 400 with steam. Great find!

Transformed oven cooking

I'm a sucker for America's Test Kitchen. If they recommend it, I'll buy it. I thought these were perhaps being hyped too much. I was wrong. These trays get so hot in the oven. The are fantastic at conducting heat. Food is crispier and cooks a little faster as well. These are aluminium, so avoid scourers as they'll scratch very easily. It doesn't affect their performance, but does make them look less shiny.
