Chimaera is Fairly Detailed Model

Got the Chimaera Star Destroyer for $49. Fairly detailed model. The tip of the star destroyer is slightly curved up and not straight though. This is constructed of plastic and painted over by factory. Still is one of the most detailed figures on the market. Box it comes in is very flimsy.

Just beautiful!

Haven’t had a chance to use it in game play yet, but as a model it’s simply beautiful! I currently have this on display on my shelf. Can’t wait to engage the rebels with this ship! Update 1/29/21; Originally, I started purchasing these ships as a collection only, as they’re awesomely detailed and beautiful iconic ships. By the time I got this ship, I had just started getting into the game too. I’ve since purchased another of these ships, as well as others in the Armada game and repainted it as an ISD, deployed it as a Cymoon Class Ship and gained two additional Mando Fighters. ISD’s were a scarcity in 2019-2020, so buying a second Chimaera and repainting it, wasn’t unheard of, especially since it was practically the same price or, in most cases, extremely cheaper than regular ISD’s you could find online. The bonus side was getting a squadron of Mandalorian Gauntlet Fighters. If you already have an ISD in your fleet, purchasing a Chimaera Class ISD is well worth it, as there are three base cards, leaving two spares, with Kuat Class on one side and Cymoon Class on the other. There are also three Kuat Class Ship cards and three Cymoon Class Ship cards. Grand Admiral Thrawn is included as the Commander of the Chimaera on a mini sized card. FFG has since released a Card Collection Pack, that you should get, which includes this card, as well as 259 other updated cards in regular size. All in all, a beautiful ship to own either as just a collectible in box, out of box, or as part of your Imperial Fleet in Armada games. Received in excellent condition and ahead of scheduled delivery. I’d highly recommend anyone interested in this ship or Armada, to purchase it.

Fantastic model

I don't play the game, but I got this model because it's so fantastic! It has an incredible amount of detail, which together with great coloring and weathering lend it scale and gravitas. It looks like a heavy diecast model, but it's surprisingly (incredibly) lightweight. The clear stand is very unobtrusive and helps create the illusion of a floating ship. I collect spaceship models, and this is one of the best in my collection, if not THE best. Very, very pleased with the purchase. Only downsides are the somewhat rickety stand and high price point.

"Carry a big stick" for Armada

Totally badass, one of the coolest board game pieces I've ever seen. 1-star for maneuverability, it has zero yaw clicks! Lol

A good model for Venator fans or for Star Wars Armada players

I love Venators. They're my favorite capital ship in Star Wars. There aren't a lot of Venator models around. This is a little over 6 inches long, is pretty detailed, and comes prepainted to a decent standard. In addition you can use them in the Star Wars Armada game, which is cool. The current price on Amazon is a little high however. That aside, I'd recommend it.

Big, Beautiful Beast

I gasped when I opened the box containing my new Starhawk. Much like the SSD, the pictures don't do this model justice, The scale is just huge and the detailing is impressive. I couldn't bring myself to put it away with my other Armada ships. It's currently sitting on my desk and I've caught myself staring at it periodically throughout the day. While I understand some of the frustration around the Starhawk's lack of canon, I don't really understand the people who think it's ugly. Its design reflects the lore behind it: a recognizably Rebel-style capital ship construction from appropriated ISD material. The artists who designed the model did a great job of telling story through form language and small details. My one hesitation with the Starhawk (admittedly having only used it once in play thus far) is that for the money, buying several smaller ships may actually be a better value in terms of overall gameplay. While this thing is a tanky BEAST, both for game points and real world dollars, I think there are ways to construct fleets that have more flexibility and resilience. But those are just first impressions. That said, I don't regret buying this for a minute. It's beautiful, fun, and adds a much-needed new element to Rebel gameplay. It was nice to see my Empire-focused buddy feeling a little intimidated for once. In all, a great addition to Armada. Thanks, FFG!

Exactly what I've wanted but worry some

This ship is exactly what I wanted for my collection I plan to buy more eventually but I'm worried about the plastic packaging when it came in it was barely within the plastic box container which is at risk of snapping the bridge right off because of its fragile piece hope that they one day widen the plastic a bit more or I'll need Super Glue lol; Otherwise exactly what I wanted and love it
