Decent scale
The scale works well. I don't use all the special features cause it just annoying to get them to work cause the touch screen isn't great atleast on mine it isn't. I have had it for multiple years so it still works and I think its decently accurate. The batteries normally last about a year give or take a bit, and I use it once a week to chec my progress so overall its good for what I use it for.

Affordable, small quirks
In general I love this scale; for the price it tells you a lot and seems fairly accurate. I bought this when my 3rd child was 3 months old because I didn't have a scale in the house and wanted to see how well I was getting back to my pre-pregnant weight. Plus I wanted to monitor my hydration, since, as a nursing mom, I sometimes forget to drink plenty of fluids. I also looked at this scale as a long term investment. Most similar scales only allow 4 profiles, but I thought as my son gets older it would be nice for all 5 of us in the family to have our own profiles. Enter the quirks of this scale. You should be aware of the following before purchasing. They aren't all that big of a deal but might be a deal-breaker for some people: 1. Although you can store up to 8 profiles, you cannot set any profile age for younger than 10 years old! My oldest will be 10 soon, so I figured it would be close enough for her, but if you envision this as a family scale and have young children, you might want to be aware that you will not be able to program an accurate profile for them. That said, I don't know if that factors into any of the ways it calculates things. For my 7 yr old, I just put in age 10 and her height and it *seems* to work, but just how far you can stretch it, I'm not sure. Will it believe you have a 3 ft 10 yr old or will it malfunction? 2. Despite what the manual claims, you cannot just step on the scale if you want an accurate weight measurement. We have been sure to put it on a hard level surface, but when it turns on upon stepping on it, it's actually never zeroed properly at first. It usually reads about 4 lbs before going to zero. I discovered this by trial and error. As a scientist, I like to get a feel for the measurement error in devices such as this, and I soon discovered that the first measurement was always about 4 lbs more than subsequent measurements, and that the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. measurements were all within about 0.2lbs of each other. I even experimented with which foot I put on the scale first, figuring that maybe I was leaning weird somehow, but it seemed to make no difference. Then my husband told me that he always steps on it just hard enough to turn it on, then takes his foot back off for a moment. He notices that when he does this, it reads 4lbs instead of zero at first, then it goes to zero, then he steps on to weigh himself. After following this procedure, the measurements I get when weighing myself give good agreement, no matter how many times in a row I weigh myself. 3. The "unit" button. I admit, I didn't read every word of the manual at first, and skipped over the part about changing the units the scale measures in. Thus I was unaware that there was a unit button on the *bottom* of the scale! This is a really stupid design, because often when you grasp the scale to move it, you inadvertently depress the unit button. The scale need not be on for this to register, and I was perplexed to find the scale suddenly measuring my body weight in "stones," til I read the manual and discovered the unit button. Again, as a scientist I am definitely in favor of being able to change the scale so that it reads in kg instead of lbs, but "stones?" Who the heck needs to weigh themselves in "stones??" Plus I think they could have found a better placement for the unit button. So bottom line: I've found a way to work around these quirks and get good use out of this scale, and I don't regret the purchase, because, again, it was so affordable for what this scale does. But personally I'd have liked to have been aware of some of these quirks before purchasing. Thus why I'm passing them onto you, the potential customer :) Cheers!

Super nice, very well made, and VERY sensitive
My wife and I have had different "body fat" scales. You know, the ones that not only measure your weight, but measure body fat, water, muscle, etc. as well. This is one is much like those in terms of function, however, I find this one to be substantially better made, and is also made here in the USA. Kudos for that! One thing you will find is that this scale is pretty thin, as far as scales go, and when you pick it up, it is actually kind of heavy for its size so you can tell it is a solid and well-made piece of equipment. Again, proof that quality doesn't come from China or Mexico or...you get the point. To activate, just step solidly on the middle of the scale. Setting the personal parameters to allow calculation of weight, body fat, muscle mass, bone mass, total body water % is a snap and should take you much less than 5 minutes to do, seriously. It is that easy. The one thing I noticed right off, and I have to warn you, is that this scale is EXTREMELY sensitive to different surfaces and will, based on those textures, change how you weigh. We have a large, subtly textured tiles on our bathroom floor. Depending on tile I place the scale on when I weigh, it an change my weight as much as 1 to 1.5 lbs. Honestly. I am an avid cyclist and today weighed on three different tiles and got from 148 to 149 lbs, three different times. Then I moved to our kitchen and weighed on our flat linoleum and got a solid 148.6, three different times. Again, choose your weighing surface carefully and be consistent in your placement of the scale on that spot or you may be shocked at a false increase in weight. It should go without saying that you should always weigh in the morning, naked, and preferably after you've gone to the bathroom, but before you drink or eat anything. Some cyclists will easily spend $2000 or more on a wheelset to drop a pound on the bike in attempts to make it lighter and faster. Others in response will say, "You know the cheapest way to take weight off your bike? Go to the bathroom before a ride!" Think I'm kidding? Weigh before and after you visit the restroom sometime and you might be surprised at the numbers. As much as I really like this scale, my only niggle is the body fat measurement. I would like to call the company to see how they come up with the numbers for this feature, as they seem pretty far off to me. When I weighed today, it said I have a 7.4% body fat. I KNOW this is not true, as one of the best methods of measuring body fat is with calipers by someone who knows what they are doing. MANY years ago I had a 9% body fat (per caliper measurement) and I weighed a meager 125 lbs. (you can do this by living on cereal and PBJs and riding an ungodly amount of miles each day- not healthy, but when you're poor, it's what you have) I have not seen that number since the late 80's mid 90's, nor will I ever again. Though I'm in better shape and have more muscle today for sure, I know I do not have that low of body fat. No way. Our other scale that measures much of the same things as the Ozeri, tells me today that my body fat is 19%. THAT is much more believable to me. Not low as low as I'd like, but definitely more accurate, I believe. Just bear this measurement in mind and take it with a grain of salt as it's not the be all and end all measurement. (at least not for me) In closing, I have to COMPLETELY RECOMMEND THIS SCALE. It is super nice, well made, and except for the body fat % which is certainly not a big deal, I think it is spot on. Thank you Ozeri for making a really nice, USA-made product!!

A sine qua non for the slimmer.
Having embarked on the 5-2 diet, I felt it was essential to have a better quality scale than the rather old bathroom scales dating back to the dark ages. Initially I had problems recording the read outs as they flash past before I can grab my glasses and notebook and pen. However, having put this point to the support team, they suggested I should use my mobile to video the results. This works excellently. The readings which it gives are: Weight, (you have a choice of lbs or kilograms); Fat %; Muscle, %; Bone - weight. Though these figure must be approximate, nevertheless it give you a pretty clear idea of how you are progressing from week to week on your diet. I keep a spreadsheet which allows me to graphically illustrate how well (or badly) I'm doing. Please to report that over 5 months, my skeleton at least does not seem to have varied too much in weight.

Would be great if they worked
Firstly, ignore all the body composition readings. Most of them are random number generators, and the body fat percentage - the most consistent one - is completely wrong. I recently got mine measured in two different gyms as about 20%, and these tell me 12%. For years I thought I had 10% body fat, but really I was much fatter. Secondly, beware the weight reading. I’ve had these for a few years and have only just realised how inaccurate they can be. Mine go through phases of being about right, and then every so often they seem to switch into a different mode where they tell me I’m 4-6 pounds lighter overnight. I’m trying to lose weight at the moment, so it’s really inconvenient when they become untrustworthy. Also, they are incredibly sensitive to floors and placement, so if, like me, you can’t leave them in the same place the whole time, you need to make sure to put them in exactly the same spot each time. Overall, it’s probably best just to throw these away and buy some different scales. That’s what I’m going to do. This time I’ll buy ones that work.

Uses up batteries very quickly
These scales take 2x CR2032 batteries. When the batteries get below 3.0V it goes into 'low battery' state and you have to fit new batteries. This happens about every 6 months. A CR2032 will continue giving useful current right down 2.6V, and when it is at 3.0V it is about 1/3 discharged. To require new batteries at that voltage is appallingly wasteful.

Choose another model. This one eats batteries.
When you read the other reviews about the battery life...... they are not exaggerating. It is appalling. I put a brand new bought batteries in last week and they are low already. I actually bought the scales a long time ago, had the same problem and stuck it in the bottom of my wardrobe. I decided to give it another try and I might as well flushed the 5pounds down the drain. It’s a piece of cr@p !

You really do not need to look at any other product! Fantastic product! Great price! Just buy it - and enjoy it!
I have nothing but PRAISE for the product and for the company behind it. I have used the Ozeri Touch scale for exactly one month now - and CANNOT FAULT IT IN ANYWAY! These days many companies over rely on marketing spin and once you have parted with cash that's it; they take your money and run; no matter how lousy their product and/or customer services is. And they certainly don't have any consideration for the time and hassle customer experience in trying to get a replacement or refund. Unlike those types of companies the makers of this product have got 100% dead right in my view. The understand that customer is king and customer satisfaction is the royal road to repeat business. Their whole business approach is based on total customer satisfaction. I have nothing but praise for them! They have delivered an amazing product that is absolutely blinding in my opinion. I thought I was just buying a fancy bathroom scales but this is a whole management system for monitoring health via measuring body weight. I don't know how they did but just by standing on the thing they are able to work out how much of my weight is bone, muscle, fat and so on. I love it - because its made me so much more conscious of the effects on my body of consuming different types of food and drink. I thought I looked good and muscular, but right now, thanks to this amazing tool, I can see that 25% of my body weight is fat :-( ... so I still have some work to do here... But that's my problem. I have ZERO OBJECTION recommending this product to anyone who is serious about the effects of excess weight on their overall health. You really do not need to look at any other product! Fantastic product! Great price! Just buy it - and enjoy it! :-)
