Great for drinks

Absolutely massive ice cubes. No spills because of the lid. I stack them and leave in freezer over night. I use only two for a 12 oz Coca Cola.

Pretty darn perfect

I really like this (oversize) ice cube tray. The cubes release pretty easily and the tray is easy to fill. There are three parts to this item: a rigid plastic frame, a silicone tray, and a lid. The three parts make this a pretty darn perfect ice cube tray - I only wish that I could get one that makes 12 cubes.

Big ice, no funky chemical smell

I bought a cheaper ice cube tray for large cubes, but could never use it because of a weird chemical residue and smell. This one from OXO has no smell or residue so I'm happy. Cubes are a little tricky to remove from the tray.

Great addition to my kitchen

This ice tray is so great, I didn’t realize how much of a difference it would make. I have an ice maker in my freezer, but I wanted larger cubes that don’t melt as quickly. This makes a perfect cube for drinks or iced coffee. It looks good too.

Great ice trey

Great way to make ice, the large cubs are great and the silicone makes it easy to take the cubs. Wash by hand only! Dish washer will transfer foul smell and taste to the silicone.

Perfect for craft ice

I really like this tray for craft ice a lot although it can be a little tricky getting each cube out. Other than that it worth it.

Difficult to Remove Ice

I usually love OXO products and was excited to try this one. I have had many large ice cube trays and my one complaint is that they are easy to spill when transferring to the freezer. They also spill easily if you have a drawer style freezer that you open and close frequently while the water is freezing. This product includes a clip on lid that really does a good job of keeping the water from spilling (you can practically turn it over and it barely leaks). It also includes a rigid outer tray that makes it easier to transfer the tray to the freezer. Most silicone ice mold are a bit floppy and need to be handled carefully not to deform and spill. So, all around a good design. Where this product really falls flat is in ease of removing the ice. Most other ice molds have gaps between each cube. That allows you to push the entire cube mold through to the other side to push out the ice. On this tray, there are no gaps. What you end up having to do is bend the tray to the point it feels like it's going to rip apart. At that point, you need to grab the ice cubes and pull them out of the mold. Often times, the cubes put up a real fight and pretty much refuse to come out. If OXO updated this product to includes gaps around each cube, it would be a 5/5.

Does NOT fit into a Hydroflask

Overall this seems like a pretty good ice maker, though I've only used it once. Why only once? Because I'm an idiot who failed geometry multiple times and didn't correctly estimate that this would fit in my Hydroflask... Larger ice cubes melt slower, so I wanted these for all day and overnight cold water in my Hydroflask bottle. I measured the cube size (roughly 1.8 inches) and it seemed like it would fit the Hydroflask opening which is a little over 2 inches at it's widest. Well fast forward to using it and the ice cube just sits on top because the corners get in the way of it going through. As for the product itself, it's perfectly fine and works the way it's supposed to. Cubes are a little tough to get out but release easier than other silicone molds I've used. The rigid container is nice when filling with liquid as it won't buckle in your hands. The cover fits well and needs just a little muscle to pop off. Guess I'll learn to make fancy cocktails or something as that's the only way I'll use it now...

Works great

Makes a great, sharply square, large cube. The tray is easy to use, just don't fill it to the brim, leave a bit of space for water expansion. I especially like the lid on this, keeps everything clean, and the whole thing is very compact, fits anywhere. The cubes came out very easily, and they were very clear, I'm impressed. Works perfectly for stirred drinks, I recommend stirring with smaller cubes, then strain into the rocks glass and plonk one of these in, because of how clear they are, they basically vanish in the glass, and they don't water your drinks down too much. With summer closing in, I think I'll buy another one if these and keep them freezing all the time. I put the excess into a freezer bag and start a new batch. Get this if any of the above applies to you.

If you want large cubes, this is the best.

I usually dont write item reviews, but this product deserves one. I purchased a different ice cube tray from the same brand, but found the cubes to be half the size of a normal ice cube. They basically just melted in minutes, were hard to fill, and were strangely expensive. This tray however, I can keep the one large cube for hours in a insulated mug with cold water. It really helps out during these heat waves we ve been having. Are the cubes difficult to remove? Yes and no, if your used to silicone trays, then you won't have any problem. Its the same bending and twisting to pull the cube out. Also, with the solid frame to insert the silicone tray, it makes refilling a breeze. You can litterly refill and place into freezer, without spilling a drop. Yes, even if your clumsy. The cubes are so big, that you dont have to fill to top, if you dont want to. Little details make things better. And in the end, its just a ice cube tray. But if your like me and drink ice cold beverages all day long, this tray is all you need. You might need two.

Well sized ice cubes in a sturdy but conveniently expelled tray

I was a little dubious ($20 for an ice cube tray?!) but I had a set of Sun's Tea 20oz no-sweat glasses (recommended for humid areas) and wanted to try appropriately sized ice cubes. This ended up being a great purchase. The ice cubes fit well into the large glasses (they looked scaled appropriately!) and are easy to get out of the tray. I'll likely get another tray to replace my other trays and they would make a nice useful gift for others (with large glasses!) I was a little worried by some of the comments about scents or taste from the silicone, so I doused the tray in water the day it arrived and then ran it through the dishwasher before using it. No issues with scent or taste at all. I tend to trust Oxo over the no-name vendors; Oxo makes an excellent silicone popcorn popper, too. My water is "gassy" so I try to use water that's already calmed, otherwise, because of the size of the cubes, you can get quite large "holes" in the ice.

REMOVAL OF ICE CUBES

I hesitated ordering this as I read it was difficult to remove the ice cubes, this is true, however on many failed attempts I found an easy way so now I love this product especially as the ice is sealed with a lid and cannot take on other smells in the freezer. The key for me is pull the silicone out of the plastic case and turn upside and run under hot water for a few seconds. You can then easily bend the silicone to separate the cubes and if you push on the back of each one they will then slide out beautifully.

Great ice cube tray

At last, ice cubes that are large enough to keep my pint glass drinks cold whilst watching a film on TV. I love the size of these cubes. They are so easy to remove and safe to use. The hard outer box prevents spillage when I am putting the newly filled tray into the freezer. The lid allows me to put things on top of the tray too, without causing any problems. A well designed product that will give me years of use. Highly recommended.
