The side pour great for fancier salts

The side spout is great when you have coarser salt. I needed a salt dispenser that could work at an everyday table, but would work for my fancy salt - where there were roasted garlic bits too big for standard shaker. Can use it like a normal dispenser for just the salt, or the side spout for the full flavor. There does not seem to be a discernible difference in hole size for salt and pepper shakers. Unless I got two salt ones. Works for me regardless. This was EXACTLY what I was looking for, and my meals are enjoying the flavor.

The product is very convenient for general light seasoning and measuring for cooking and baking. I love the use of the spout.

Who’d a thought!

I don’t know if this makes me officially “old” but I am so impressed with these salt and pepper shakers. They are fantastic. I like that they aren’t “labeled” salt or pepper so you can choose which is which for your family but you can also use them for other spices because….[drum roll] they have pot spouts!!!! This is such a fantastic idea! How many times does a recipe call for 1/4 tsp or whatever of salt and you end up having to get the container of salt out of a cupboard or unscrew the lid to measure. Of course if you don’t Measure out salt or pepper ever then this is probably not going to knock your socks off. But wow. I’m completely over the moon about these.

Wish There Were Glass Versions

I do love these, and the added functionality of a pour spout is great. The size of both the shakers and holes are adequate. I do, however, lament that the shakers are only available as acrylic / plastic and because of this they have a cheap feel to them. Luckily I'm usually satisfied with Oxo's durability. There are matching sugar containers that have both plastic and glass versions available. I went glass on that one.

Not from the oxo cube maker

The OXO Good Grips brand is nothing to do with the British oxo cube maker, but part of the large American “Helen of Troy” company – the oxo name is used under license in the UK and Ireland. This OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Salt and Pepper Shaker Set – Transparent/Black is well designed and well made and each shaker has a different hole pattern for dispensing either salt or pepper – although they are not designated as such. The clear plastic makes keeping an eye on the fill levels easy and is BPA free which a lot of people prefer for food grade products. The stainless steel top can be used to sprinkle for table use but also has a side spout for dispensing larger quantities for cooking purposes. The shakers are not dishwasher safe but only need a quick hand-wash between re-fillings. We looked at quite a few similar products before deciding on this set and have not been disappointed – a good value salt and pepper set that is ideal for everyday use.

Efficient, ok looks, made in china

Nice shaker, more efficient than nice looking if I am asked. The bigger opening on the side is a really nice addition. The salt flow of the head is also perfect. Could be a little cheaper or at this price point, made in USA (oxo is american) instead of china.
