Great for Houses with Stupid Cats
Got this bad boy to try and stop a certain 10lb furry butter-nabber from sneaking onto the counter at night and licking the room temp butter. Waking up, groggy-eyed for toast only to find tonguemarks on your butter is not the ideal morning routine. Bought this and put it to the test. Woke up the next morning to see the lid on the floor, lickmarks on the butter an the cat looking pleased as, well, the cat that ate the butter. Sure it works if your cat doesnt have a butter addiction.

Great
Great butter dish. Doesn't slide around when youb use it, and the lid is easy to grip and take off. I like that you can see how much butter is left, and I like the measurement markings. They're just a little hard to see because they're molded in the plastic. So, they're the same color as the rest of the dish. I have to pick it up and tilt the dish to see them. Overall, a great purchase, and I would purchase again.

It's not just a butter dish.
Okay, okay. I know - it's a butter dish, not a climate controlled, IoT Wi-Fi enabled, WPA2 encryption protected churned cream receptacle or anything, but even the "simple things" in life should be recognized and appreciated when they do something right. Taking it back for a minute, please allow me to explain what my previous experiences with butter dishes was like before this one came along: basic. About as basic as they can possibly come. A simple, white, ceramic butter dish. Which was fine. It was fine. If you have one now, I'm sure you'll agree: it's fine. But, now that I've had this one for a little while, I really can't find a reason to ever go back. Because here's what that classic ceramic one doesn't do: 1) Let me know at a simple glance how much butter is inside. 2) Allow me to completely remove the wrapper from the butter and yet still have the ability to know where to cut for an X-Tbsp sized portion 3) Sing to me*. 4) Feature a cover that helps to ensure that when I'm putting the lid back on, I'm not off center enough to smear butter all over the edge and/or inside of it. 5) Offer little ledges that help to ensure the butter doesn't go sliding out of the dish when I'm trying to balance a plate or an armful of dinner rolls in one hand, while clumsily attempting to butter things with the other. The list goes on (I mean not really, but you get what I'm saying). My point is: Divorce is an often ugly process, and one that can have serious, long-term, negative effects on all involved. Like when you find yourself in a tiny new apartment with about a tenth of what you once considered were things that belonged to you even though they were admittedly shared. And, how time and time again, while looking for a stick of softened butter to help make that perfect grilled cheese sandwich (as it's become a rather regular option for dinner these days), one shouldn't have to suffer each time they don't find that little, white, basic thing that in all honesty didn't do quite as good of a job as other dishes (like the one reviewed here) probably/should have been doing for the past 5-10 years or so. So, really, what are you waiting for? * This butter dish doesn't sing either. It's still awesome, though. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions. But seriously, why would you? It's just a butter dish.

Best butter dish
This is definitely a keeper, the best butter dish if you place your butter on your counter top.

I like this!
You can grip this Oxo butter dish from any angle and it will not slip out of your hand. Also, love how the lid stay put. Great item. They wash nice in the dishwasher too. Purchased multiple.

So this is what it feels like to be an adult!
So sounds silly to make a review on this but I feel like we are not alone. For the longest time we would have butter out on a plate to use and it was tacky but it did the job. Then one day I came across someone having a butter dish and decided to look. Man, I did not expect so many options and especially with some of the prices! This product was just clean, simple and does the job! I like the clear cover because you can always see how much is in it, the measurements on the inside are nice and useful but all in it does the job without feeling like you over paid! Crazy though, I don't know if I use more butter lately because I can always see it and want to use it but it's been useful in the house and beats what we were doing before. If your looking to just get something to make the job done and not pay too much, this is it and you won't be disappointed. Plus I feel it is nice enough to work with the kitchen attire!

Light, clear
The first time I saw it at my friend's house, I loved it, I found it immediately after I came back, I ordered it, and now I have it. It is very convenient to use, because it is transparent lid, the things inside are clear, I love it????

Works Great
Works great for a 1/2 cup stick of butter. I was always re-wrapping the sticks with the foil wrapper and it was getting super messy by the time the stick was half gone. This is a much nicer way to store a stick once it is opened. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the lid is just laid on top of the base and it will pop off if you hit it at all. Would be better if there was a groove or some type of locking mechanism to keep the lid in place. Overall it is a pretty minor flaw and I would still purchase again considering the good price.

Size of butter dish
I was very surprised to find that this butter dish would not hold a pack of butter as sold in the UK it is too small. the pack of butter has to be halved.

Best butter container I have owned
I really like this butter container. Looks great after a couple of years of use. Lightweight, well balanced and high quality. Not cheap looking Non slip feet are useful. If something happens to it I would but another.

TOO SMALL FOR BUTTER!
No stars. Too small for a regular UK packet of butter. Total joke, without the humour

It’s good
It is definitely too small for a pound of butter.. but it’s perfect because I don’t like to have a whole pound of butter out at once. Great size for my small apartment kitchen.
