Raised to fours stars After 3 months of use. Probably Wont Last as Long as your previous Toaster
This is a 2-slice toaster with continuous (not 7 as described) shade settings. The extra-wide slots (common feature for current toasters) fits a variety of breads and the mechanism for accommodating different widths of bread works perfectly. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get the bread down -- worrisome since this is what eventually retired our durable Black and Decker toaster - AFTER 7 years. The toast function seems to work OK though there is a pattern on the bread. It's intentional that the bagel function doesn't toast one side (the outside) as much. The bagel halves need to be put incorrectly we have had to turn up the shade dial setting to get sufficient toasting. Our last toaster had this function which we seldom used even with bagels. The frozen function does seem to work but requires a higher heat setting for the same toaster result. The warm function is just that, but you are better off just using the toast setting for 30 seconds to rewarm your bread. A note of caution -- re-toasting bread can burn it appears that the shade setting inst based on a moisture sensor which the "Advanced Toasting Technology" would suggest. The removable crumb tray makes cleaning easy and is a must have feature we appreciated on the old toaster -- much more convenient and less messy than a swing down tray! W eve noticed fewer crumbs in the tray perhaps due to the way the toaster holds the bread. We haven't had a jam in three months (not one!) so the "Anti-jam feature" seems effective. Always use the cancel setting button to stop toasting rather than engaging the handle. This will extend the life of the mechanism. The toast, bagel, frozen, and warm buttons shine bright blue when engaged. A nice feature but small blue LEDs would have been just as effective. The cancel button does not light up but is located on the opposite side of the lever. The shade dial could definitely be larger and like other purchasers, we lament the difficulty in seeing the marker on the face of the black dial especially since it is changed by different users and for different breads. (toast vs bagel). Once the return period has passed we will add a dot of white paint to the marker. >>>>>>WE did add a dot of whiteout to the face of the dial. It makes all the difference. It toasts bread.
This was a replacement for an very old toaster and it is an improvement over the old one. It is a bit slower than the old one but the results are excellent. I would but it again.

Perfect toaster if you have superhuman eyesight!
I'm 70 and my mom is 94 -- and we both struggle to read fine print or to see tiny "aerodynamic" controls. It is very hard to read the Toast/Bagel/Frozen/Warm buttons, as the grey printing is covered with thick plastic overlay that catches the light and makes reading difficult unless you lift the toaster to eye level, or crouch down over the counter. Worse, the temperature control is black, and has a microscopic indentation at the edge of the round control to indicate which level heat setting you are on. It is much smaller than the head of a pin -- and I defy anyone to see it without a flashlight and a magnifying glass. I like this toaster, so I used some white nail polish to mark a line where the tiny indent was -- but for heaven's sake PLEASE test your product on the elderly or the seeing impaired before you launch.

Slight Flaw
This is a great toaster, once you realize that the controls are wrong. This toaster replaced an earlier version of the same brand. I was having trouble getting the right darkness. Then I realized that the picture in the instructions was opposite from the actual toaster. On the toaster the dark was on the left, the light on the right. The only real issue is that now I am worried that the overall quality of the product is not what I would expect.

Good Toaster
It toasts fine. First try on 3, the bread was perfectly toasted one side and barely toasted on other. The top gets pretty hot,so need to use a fork or tongs to grab the toast, or will burn ya!
