Best bang for the buck
Very few, if any, modern toasters toast as quickly as their vintage counterparts. Modern toasters take longer and tend to dry out the bread. This 1650W Oster long slot toaster, however, toasts in less time and handles bagels, large slices of artisan bread and frozen waffles quite well. There are more expensive toasters with more bells and whistles, but, for the money, this one is just fine. I still use a vintage 1940's toaster for english muffins; the new toasters dry them out before they brown.

May fail soon after purchase
Purchased in Sep 2022 and died April 27, 2023 ... wholly unacceptable. I have been a longtime fan of Oster products and I hope this is an anomaly. Will not buy another.

Great dual functionality
I've owned Oster toasters for decades and found them to be great quality and style but the standard slots always presented a challenge for toasting wide types of bread. This double length toaster solves both volume and size concerns. When I first opened the box I thought, it looks like a bus! LOL but it actually takes less space than the 4 slot toasters I compared so I'm happy with the product.

This is the second one of these toasters we’ve had. The first gave us many years of good service. We liked it so much, we bought the same one again. Highly recommend!

Really happy so far. This was to replace the older version we had that died after many years. This one does a better job & you can fit almost any size slice!

Too shallow
This was the third long slot toaster we tried, in search of something that can toast large sourdough slices. This one was super flimsy and cheap looking, but the main problem was how shallow the toaster was, it did not toast the tops of the bread. Fail, back to amazon. On to the next.

Quick and easy
The long slots fit odd shaped toast nicely, and it has a higher wattage than most so it is much faster. A good buy.

Wanted to love it, but I dont.
I had high hopes but not impressed with this toaster. Previous toaster I owned had better digital settings. These knobs may you think you have better control but I didn't find it so.

Finally - don't have to cut artisan bread in half!
I can finally toast the artisan bread I like. Toaster works just as advertised. Slots are long enough to fit two standard pieces of bread and the toaster if faster than my previous toasters. Also looks good on the counter.

Not recommended.
This toaster toast only one side regardless what some other reviews may have said. I bought this one and also the other Oster long slot model but both have the identical problem of only toasting the side facing inside. Some have said to center the bread, others said you must have it on BAGEL instead of TOAST other say you got to burn off the factory oils for 3 times without bread etc etc. There are more reviewers that share my opinion than not. These are excuses for a major design flaw all they have to do is insert more heating elements on the outer side OR less heat coils on the inside. The engineers probably don't test these and are in a hurry to flood the market. They also do not listen to our suggestions. However, there are some good points about this toaster: One of the most sleek looking toasters on the market and does not beep when the thing has done its job. I could never use this even if it was given to me.

Good toaster but not for bagels
I Purchased this toaster because it had a bagel button. My previous toaster would not toast the outside of a bagel if you push the bagel button but this toaster does nothing when you push the bagel button. There is no difference between toasting bread and toast and bagels and each time I toast a bagel it burns on the outside. It does a good job with regular toast. I also noticed it hums when it is toasting (you hear an electric hum - It does not bother me but it might bother some people).

Serves our purposes
We have one at home and we like it, so we bought another one for the cottage. We like the long slice, we don’t have to cut our slices to fit the toaster anymore and it’s great for when we have visitors (4 slices at the time).
