LOVE this stuff

I ordered one of these a few years ago to replace a worn out connector on an osprey hydraulics bladder and I ordered a second kit recently to make reservoir adaptors for filling or in-line use with a sawyer squeeze (using the blue and grey sawyer 28mm to in line adaptors that came with the squeeze filter). The same adaptors can use used to convert any 28mm soft bottle into a reservoir or refill a reservoir from any 28mm bottle. How fantastic! I love that the female end of the quick connect seals closed when not connected to prevent spills, so you can disconnect it from the male end/the rest of the tube and no water will spill or leak. They seal in very snugly, this is by design. However, you can pull the adaptor out of the house easily after running under warm water. I saw in another review that someone got frustrated because they inserted the adaptor into the wrong length tube and threw out the entire bladder - wow! No need to do that, run it under warm water and pull it out. I think this represents a massive user error and is in no way the fault of the manufacture. You can disconnect and reconnect several times using this method. I have been using Osprey Hydraulics and other Hydrapak products nearly every day over the past 5 years. Other than replacing one worn out part (for $10) I have had no problems at all. They have a lifetime warranty, they are easy to clean (dishwasher or bottle bright tablets), they are filter compatible, and they LAST. I can't recommend these products enough and I use them for running, trail running, hiking, and backpacking in both summer and winter conditions.

What a great item.

Most bike hydration packs have a built in flaw. They come with a 90 angle at the bite valve, but the hole in the should pad is sized for a straight connector. this makes feeding the tubing a PITA. As a result, you might not clean the bladder as often as you should, or maybe you will leave the hydration back out full of warm water because putting the entire pack in the fridge is also a pain. If you buy this valve, you can cut the tube from your bladder near the top of the bladder, Put the female end on the bladder and male end on the hose. Now you don't have to pull the whole bladder and hose out to clean or put the the bladder in the fridge. I love this thing! It took about 2 minutes to install. marked where to cut the tube, cut it, put the ends in hot water for a few seconds to soften them push the parts together and done. Now my hydration pack is hanging on the bars of my bike and my bladder has fresh water in it and is chllin the fridge waiting for my ride. Win!

Must have for Dakine Hot Laps!!!

The Dakine Hot Laps hydration waistpack didn't come with a quick release. So you had to feed the tubing all the way out the clean the water bladder. This kit cured that and added the needed 4 inches to the Dakine hose that I needed for mountain biking.

Works great

Needed a quick disconnect for a helmet installation and this fit the bill. I did have it disconnect during a race. A branch snagged it and pulled it apart. I most likely I didn't push it fully together. Time will tell.

Great device

This thing just makes life easier when backpacking. It's easier to put the camelbak in my bag. I can hook it up directly to my filters. I definitely recommend if you use a bladder a lot while hiking/backpacking.

Camelbak Hydrolink compatible, with a caveat

Bought one of these to test compatibility with my Hydrolink equipped military Camelbak. This was the version with Male connector on the end of the drink tube going to the bladder (which has a female receptacle molded into it) and a female connector at the bite valve end, into which you plug a bite valve. Told you that to tell you this- you can plug the Camelbak Male end of the drink tube into the Osprey female connector, but you cannot plug the Osprey male into the Camelbak female. This works for my needs, as I am plugging a Mini Sawyer filter into the bladder. I cut off the Camelbak tube about an inch from the barbs, and plugged the cutoff end into the Osprey female. Cut drink tube end gets the Osprey Male, and plugs in. And, done. Be aware there are at least three different kinds of 'military' Camelbak connections at the bladder- a long shank Male, short shank Male, and a female (which is just another long shank Male, without a shutoff valve, so the bag cannot be removed from the pack with the drink tube disconnected unless you want a mess. I think the latter is the CBRN environment bladder, but haven't been able to get confirmation . This MAY work with the Camelbak Quick Link setup, but I don't use that system so can't confirm.

Good quality connector

This is well made and works as you'd expect. No leaks. And it fits old Camelbaks as well as Osprey.

Great replacement

This is a great replacement for the bladder. Actually bought the connector and hose so I can fill the bladder using a katadyn vario filter. This works very well and makes the job quick, easy and dry

Essential upgrade - Purpose of short tube explained!

This is a great, essential I would say, upgrade for my Osprey Hydraulics LT 2.5L bladder. I purchased a Raptor 10 in 2020 and was disappointed that the bladder did not come with a quick release drinking tube. Without quick-release you're forced to unthread the drinking tube from the pack and the bite value usually ends up flopping around in the dirt; not good! To fit, cut your existing tube in half just above the bladder retaining loop. Heat the two tube ends and fit the quick release valve with the closed end towards the bladder. The tube is very tough so needs to be heated to allow you to slide onto the valve. Also included in the kit is a short length of tube with an open quick release end. This serves two purposes: (i) Attach this short tube when cleaning the bladder as this allows water to drain freely. Without using this tube water will not pass the quick release valve. (ii) Apparently you can use this short tube to attach to a water filter for when filling the bladder from a portable water filtration system.

Makes use of bladder much easier

Installation can be a bit though but worth the effort. I had zero leaks after installation. Makes it much easier to use the bladder without the full lenght hose attached.
