What a back saver
This beam trolley is great. Able to hoist my zero turn front end without destroying my back. Strong, safe, and handy.

Awesome for I-beam mount points. Wish it rolled quieter...
I used these trolleys to install swings/hammocks/ropes on an i-beam in our basement. They have worked perfectly and were easily to install. The dream was to have swings, ropes, etc on the beam and be able to roll as an indoor "zip-line". It works, but geez is it loud. The metal on metal rolling of the trolley on our metal i-beam sounds (and feels) like we're at an amusement park waiting in line for the roller coaster. I attempted to cover the wheels with rubber as well as line the i-beam with felt and rubber, but it was just too loud when rolling to keep the zip-line function. I'm still glad I purchased the trolley instead of a fixed bracket as it is easy to move them around the room as needed, but really wish I could leave it "unlocked" and let the kids (and ME!!) swing around the room on our indoor zipline. Overall, these are built really well, are heavy duty, and should work for most "normal" applications well.

Updated 11/26/16 For Customer Service Review
After posting the previous 2 star review I was contacted by the customer service department. They asked me what they could do to make it correct. We corresponded and settled on proper compensation. They were very easy to work with and did what they said they would do. As of 11/26/18 I am updating the review to reflect the excellent customer service I received. Thank you for the quick and proper response. Next is the original review - Ordered 4 of these for a client. When they showed up, an entire wheel had fallen off. Upon closer inspection I discovered the bearings were damaged. Upon closer inspection of the other 3 I found that the wheel bearings were of different types and all had been damaged or had debris such as grit or rust with absolutely no grease in any of the 16 total wheels. Next issue is the rusted grade 5 bolts that hold the trolley side on the main pin. The shear strength of a grade 5 10mm bolt is approximately 7952 LBS. Per code all lifting equipment should have a 5/1 design factor. That means if it’s a 6000 LBS trolley it should be able to handle 5x the rated amount (30,000 LBS.) Though admittedly the shear force on that bolt is likely to be less than the total of the bolts total shear strength it should in my opinion be better than a grade 5 10mm bolt and certainly not rusted or damaged. I give it 2 stars because the paint was new and I didn’t find any issues with the welds.

For the 1 Ton I Ordered (Twice), The two I Received A Only Rated at 1/2 Ton
So, my original review was rejected due to comments on the vendor, so this time, not going to comment on the vendor… I have an H beam with a 6” flange so I ordered (twice) the 1 ton trolley so it would fit. Strangely, the trolley (both of them) I received wouldn’t fit on the 6” wide flange. My “1 ton” trolley (both of them) seem to be rated as 1/2 ton and compare very closely (you might even say exactly) with a 1/2 ton trolley. How very strange that I apparently bought an H beam that was too big for the trolley (both of them) I ordered. Anyway, the “1 ton” trolley (both of them) is well built, but simply doesn’t fit the beam. If I had a smaller H beam then things would have been fine. I’m not happy that I have a 6” H beam that doesn’t fit the trolley I received (both of them). Stupid, stupid me…my quality control really needs to be looked at.

Not exactly as pictured but good never the less.
This item was used for a common house supporting beam that is in my garage. Turns out the trolley will barely fit the beam. Be sure your beam is not too wide to fit between the roller flanges. Also, the through shaft that holds the halves together and the hook-eye, includes two nuts you lock together (I used Loctite red on them as well), instead of the self locking castle nut shown. Overall, the unit is substantial and I would expect it to hole a ton as rated. But note that the beam has to be able to support a full ton on its flange or you risk serious injury. I did not receive any installation information and the box looked opened and re-taped, although it may have simply been taped due to the weight of the object All parts were included. I am using it with a 1-ton chain hoist. As a one ton beam trolley, I would recommend it as long as the safety rules are followed. I do not consider it "heavy duty".

Installed on a new Gantry Crane. No instructions or paper work on how to install. Would be nice to know how tight the adjustment bolt should be. Works good.
