Works great

I've had an Oral B electric toothbrush for many years. However, I always used the dual action head. When I needed a new toothbrush I tried to find one but could not. Every Oral B used this single rotating head. I didn't like my wife's SoniCare but feel that the advertising for this type head is absurd. In order for this to rotate around the entire tooth you would have to have huge gaps between your teeth. I don't think I've ever met anyone with a full set of teeth with gaps like that, so it's basically hype. This brush does not use the dual action heads - only the single rotating head you see on TV. But, it seems to do an OK job. I downgraded the traveling rating because the unit is pretty big and I don't think it will travel all that well without taking up a lot of space in my kit. I will be gone all of June for a bowling tournament and a visit to the in-laws, so I'll see then.

Excellent brush. The AI? Eh...

I finally needed to replace my previous Braun Oral-B toothbrush from 2003 (yeah, I know... it's old enough to vote, but it just kept on running) and have been keeping an eye out for options. This one was on sale with a good price and it uses the same type of heads as my old one. I need the smaller head to reach a problem area at the back of a rear molar. Also, I used a vibrating head for a few months on an extended trip last year, and I am convinced that the spinning head is more effective than a vibrating one. I noted several reviews saying that you should get the 1000X because it comes with more heads and a charging travel case and it is less expensive. Sounds reasonable, but those were written a couple of years ago and today the 1000x costs three times the price I paid for this one. I would have liked the charging travel case, but I can buy it separately for about $35, so it wouldn't make sense to pay a couple of hundred more for it. I went all-in on trying out the brush the way they had advertised it. I wasn't initially enthused about getting my phone out every time I brush, but the idea of having a smart toothbrush keep track of whether I had missed an area seemed at least worth checking out. I've used it for about a week now and will be dropping the smartphone integration from here on out. The motion sensor and the AI simply are not accurate about keeping track of where I am brushing. The graphic shows where it senses you brushing and about a quarter of the time, it is in the wrong place. I'll be brushing the lower right and it will be showing me brushing the lower left. Admittedly, you've covered things well by the time it says you're through, but that's not because you were actually missing a spot, but because you just kept brushing the same place over and over waiting for it to register that you've brushed that quadrant. I really think the idea is promising, but it's meaningless if it's not accurate and it's just not there yet. Despite that, I really like this toothbrush and highly recommend it. Just use it like normal electric toothbrush without the phone and it will count down 30 second intervals, giving a little pause to let you know (plus a longer pause at 2 minutes), and that is plenty to be sure you are covering each area thoroughly. The different modes are fine, but I decided I am happy with the every day mode and don't use the others. My guess is that most people would stick with a single mode, but it's nice to have a choice of what that is. Someone else may want a more gentle touch while another may like the enhanced action of the whitening setting. I do brush my tongue, but I don't bother changing the mode to do it. I did once, but it really doesn't seem to make a difference. Not surprisingly, I had underestimated how slow my old one had gotten over the years, but using this is like night and day. It is fast and vigorous, without being harsh. My teeth and gums feel really clean afterward. The battery lasts a long time. I haven't left it more than 3-4 days without charging, but the bars show plenty of charge even then. It is very slow to charge, but really... who cares? If you don't want to charge it periodically, you can just store in on the charger and let it stay charged up.

Best toothbrush I've ever had (last one was from 10 years ago)

I was in the market for a new brush so I was looking for the best bang for the buck. I had my sights set on this one after doing research and wasn't disappointed. I wanted one especially with bluetooth capabilities because lets face it I'm not the best at brushing every single spot. The app: Taking my phone to the bathroom every time was no issue as I'm always using it on the can or listening to music in the shower so no issue there, but the app itself is not perfect by any means. The interface is clean and the idea is great but keeping track of where you are brushing is off. I'll be brushing the top left side and it will be saying I'm brushing the top right... I did some testing and you have to tilt the toothbrush at some matrix angle just to get the 100% brush grade rating (which I did because I'm addicted to competition). But after a while you're brushing the same spot for far toooo long that isn't not worth it just for the app to say 'clear' yeah it cleared my enamel right off jk, but if the app was more accurate this would be hands down one of the best out there. Some days i'll just do a mental count for each side maybe half a minute and then slowly changing each time. The toothbrush itself is at least 3X more powerful than my old brush. I like the settings but honestly I've only been using the default one maybe i'll venture out for the other modes when I'm bored.. which honestly will be quite soon cause brushing be boring. A part of me expected a way higher battery life but compared to my old model this lasts longer than the energizer bunny. The charging is giga slow but honestly that's any rechargeable toothbrush really. When it's low after you are done brushing just keep it charging overnight and it will be full when you wake up! Very solid toothbrush but fix the app!

It’s loud.

I replaced my sonicare with this, I like it, it works well, no real complaints other than it is extremely loud compared to my sonicare… I get up considerably before my spouse and I actually brush my teeth in the kitchen so I do not wake him up.

Excellent toothbrush

Excellent toothbrush. You can save a lot of money if you buy this Limited edition instead of Genius X 10000. The only difference is 1) it comes with a standard charger for 110 V (does not support 220 V), 2) it does not have a USB charger for the travel case. The toothbrush itself is exactly the same. If the travel items are important (traveling a lot), buy 10000, if not, save about $100 and buy this Limited edition.

Connaître sa condition dentaire

Bien heureux d'avoir choisi ce modèle Series 5. L'utilisation du mode hypersensible me convient mieux que les autres modes. C'est donc à chacun d'évaluer si un modèle, comme la série 3, n'ayant pas ce mode lui convient. Choix très personnel, finalement, conditionné par sa condition dentaire. Prenez soin de bien réfléchir à la question afin de bien valider votre choix.

Your teeth are worth the investment :)

This was my first experience with an electric toothbrush and I am happy to say that it has not disappointed:) Easy to use, very effective and definitely worth the investment in my opinion! A 2 minute session truly does leave your mouth with that dentist clean feel! The different brush modes each seem to serve a specific purpose, varying the brushing action significantly from one to the next. Also, the pressure sensor has been a real eye opener for me as the amount of pressure needed to brush correctly is considerably less then I thought. My enamel thanks you Oral-B! The app is a bit silly and sometimes not terribly accurate when recording session info, but it is fun nonetheless:) The brush comes with a 2 year warranty which can be upgraded to 3 years by registering it with Oral-B which is a nice bonus:) Overall, I’m loving my Oral-B Genius X!

Good product to be purchased on sale

I bought this product on sale and for someone who brushes twice a day, the battery does not last long as it stated and regular price is high. recommended to buy on sale. other than that the cleaning power is really good and I feel the teeth gone lighter after each use
