Great cake lock
Great thick cable with a rubber coating. The coating will not damage any finish of your bike or car. The lock is hefty and feels secure. I ended up going with the longer, 9 foot, cable of this same brand to have some wiggle room but the 6 foot one is just as good

Well built, easy to use, comes with lots of keys
The old joke is that "All bikes weight 50 pounds: a 10 pound bike needs a forty pound lock, a 40 pound bike needs a 10 pound lock, and a 50 pound bike doesn't need a lock." I own a forty pound bike - an old 10 speed that one bike store hipster called a "frankenbike." I ride my frankenbike all over the place and it works great. I need to lock it up and I'd prefer to use a long cable lock to ensure no one steals a tire, which I can't do with a ulock (either front or back tire is unlocked with that system). Put another way, the tires on this bike are worth more than the bike! This cable lock is perfect as a discouragement for casual/opportunistic thieves around town. And since my bike is ugly, chipped and old, I just have to park near a nice bike to protect it against determined and professional thieves! I've been using a cable lock as the sole protection for my bike for 20 years, and I still have the same bike. So if you need to lightly protect your street cruiser, this cable lock should do the job. It won't stop anyone intent on taking a valuable bike for sure. Also, this lock has a couple of nice features: 1) It's about 6 feet long so plenty long enough to lock up to most urban/sidewalk trees. 2) It's 12mm thick cable so a little better than 10mm or 6mm cables 3) It has a weather plug so in inclement weather you can keep water out of the key hole 4) It comes with 4 or 5 keys so I don't have to worry about losing a key (or getting back up copies) 4a) The keys are pretty custom looking so don't expect to get copies made easily (that's a minus) 5) The lock mechanism itself is "positive" - it locks cleanly and it unlocks easily - no sticky key or turning problems. (I've had these problems with some newer kryptonite cable locks)

Should do the job nicely
I purchased this lock to secure my powerchair on its lift. I am very impressed with the cable lock. However locks only keep honest people honest, no lock is going to stop anyone from stealing anything, if they want something bad enough, and at best it will slow them down. This lock came with 5 keys, ( why not 3 or 7 keys) which was a real surprise. And I have never seen a key that looks like these. The lock itself has a slide cover to keep dirt out of the cylinder. Overall it is a nice lock that I think will serve it purpose.

Awsome locks that stand up to harsh weather.
This is my fourth OnGuard lock. I have one lock on my small trailer locking the wheel. The trailer sits outside with the sun beating down in 95+ degree weather for last year an half, and its still in great condition and works. The other two are on my bicycles, and I keep the fourth one in my car to lock items on my cargo carrier. These locks come with four laser cut keys; at least the four locks I purchased came with four keys each.

The following is the description of the cable and lock. Unique OnGuard cylinder offers optimum resistance against physical attack and picking - this is not true. I weight 175, I placed the cable through the holes in the wheels on my trailer, locked the cable in the lock, then stood on the cable placing my 175 on it and it broke. Double bolt locking mechanism provides ultimate pull resistance - the cable pulled out of the lock after the lock broke. Reinforced sleeve over crossbar and cylinder for additional security; automatic dust covers protect cylinder - the lock cylinder came apart, the key portion broke off of the cable, the whole lock cylinder housing is made from "pot metal" . It could probably been broken with my hands. I have requested a refund. The customer service rep wanted to send me another one. I told him only if he could assure me it would be better than the broken one I had in my hand.

12 mm cable? Not really…
Seems well-made, and easy to use, but the cable itself is definitely not 12 mm. It's more than a bit disingenuous to advertise this as 12 mm cable, when that is the dimension of the cable encased in its vinyl sheath. It's difficult to tell, but it looks like the cable is actually around 3/8 inch diameter, somewhat less of a deterrent then advertised.

An OK bike lock but needs to be used with other locks.
An OK bike lock. I use this in conjunction with a hardened tell shackle lock. I use the shacle to lock the frame to anything sturdy then this key cable lock to lock through both tires.Remember no lock is theft proof.

Muy frágil, nada recomendable
Me robaron mi bicicleta en unos minutos, dejaron el cable cortado, sin ningún problema.
