Beautiful bell. Few caveats.
This is a beautiful bell. The design is unique and low-profile. The ring is loud, clear, and has a delightful sound. The materials feel top-notch in quality. I ultimately returned the one I purchased because I had to make some tough decisions about how to use my handlebar real estate. The biggest drawbacks with this bell are: Since the bell is essentially a thick band, it won’t fit super close to your shifter/brake on flat bars, which can be a dealbreaker if you are pressed for handlebar real estate. Another drawback: the bell surface is essentially ~2/3rds of the bell’s outer surface circumference, and if anything on your bike is resting against this surface (handlebar bag, other accessory mounts, cables), it will blunt or mute the bell’s ring. Knog did cleverly include what is essentially a built-in cable organizer into the bell’s closure, but this may not fit all cables or angles. If you just have a phone mount and a light on your handlebars, you probably won’t run into the above issues, in which case you’ll likely enjoy this bell.

Man, I love these bells!
$30+ for a bike bell is tough to swallow at first, but man I love these bells! They're sleek, stylish and well-made—perfect if you like to keep your bars feeling clean and minimal. And they make a polite-but-super-audible ring. I put them on all my family's bikes. The Luxe is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade from the base model—machined metal fasteners instead of plastic, solid hammer that's harder to damage. Well worth the extra cost.

Loud and cool- not sure about mounting
I bought the luxe. It’s good volume and low profile. I will say though as far as mounting the thing is to get the ores where they need to be and the striker in the right place, it’s best to have the bell end facing the rider instead of forward. Not sure if this reduces sound quality or volume for alerting others, but I’m sure it would be better up or forward. Think of where the cables are on your bike, and which way the bell would have to sit for the cable slot to be in the right place and the striker to be there as well.

Great bell, tightening method not that great
The bell is nice, and has a good ring to it. It is not as obtrusive and ugly like many of the traditional bells. My only complaint is the tightening of the bell, though it doesn't move freely when riding, it does have a tendency to move after some use or when loading and unloading the bike. A small annoyance, ut I would purchase the bell again if I ever had too. I have put 400 miles on my bike with this bell. It still hold up well.

The neatest, not the noisiest - (Luxe model)
Nice bit of machining, and if you don’t want to clutter up the bars on your $$$ road bike, a workable option, assuming you want to politely alert a pedestrian or other bike rider you are quietly overtaking them. Not for loudly announcing your presence in a noisy traffic situation. I’m quite content, as that is precisely what my requirement is. Spec lists 31.8mm as the maximum size bar the Knog Oi Luxe will fit, but next to the stem my carbon bars are 32.1mm, and the fit was fine, even with the short screw provided. Indeed, the wavy flexible shape of the clamp is such, that it might take a bar another millimeter or so larger than mine.

Luxe review - last review you need to review before buying
The media could not be loaded. This is a great product. Super neat design and works perfectly. Very well made. I have the Spurcycle on my road bike, but wanted to try this one on my Hybrid bike, despite all the bad reviews. I'm glad I did. Not only is the design top notch, but it functions perfectly. I've used it for about a month now. The striker is solid and produces a nice long, sustained ring, as you can tell from my video. My only regret is that I bought the large (because it was on sale) and had to place it close to my stem. It would be more convenient for me to have the small and placed near my grips, so I wouldn't have to move my hand to ring it - but usually not a big deal. Well packaged and easy to install (except I dropped the screw first attempt, and had a hard time finding it - after that, no sweat). The trick is to find the perfect spot on the handlebars. Mine were not perfectly round near the stem and I had to adjust the orientation of the bell until it would ring freely without the dreaded "clunk" sound some have reported. Be careful not to have any cables touching it or it will not work properly. I have used it literally hundreds of times in my nightly bike rides and it gives walkers good warning of my presence. No, it will not work in a busy city environment with traffic, but perfect for trail or neighborhood usage. I suspect most of the poor reviews are for the classic version with a reported vulnerable stricker. This Luxe version has solved that problem and is meeting all my expectations. Buy with confidence. I have it on a Trek FX3disc hybrid bike, but would have no problem if it were on my Trek Madone 3.1, as it is a nicely designed and engineered, state-of-the art piece of equipment.

May not work with some cable configurations
Seems like a nice, well constructed bell. Unfortunately, it will not work with my cable configuration (drop bar gravel bike). Since my cables are routed pretty tightly along the front of my handlebar, I would need to install the bell backwards (to use the cable management slots) with the bell facing me and not to the front and the trigger on the top facing the wrong way. Sure it'll work that way but it's definitely not ideal (the sound should really point forward and it's a little awkward to hit the trigger that way).

Pretty lol’ ding…
It’s so cute it just doesn’t work with my padded and wrapper handlebars The tape prevents the resonation required to properly ‘ding’ It’s such a pretty ding too I wish this would’ve worked for me Another thing - I couldn’t find a perfect place to mount it in drop bars…

Nice bell, not as loud as some.
Honestly when i got this bell i loved it... looks nice, fits well on my handlebars and doesnt look like a bell of a childrens bike however after using it now for a few weeks i have honestly found im a little disappointed. While it sounds great and ist too annoying, i have found several occasions where people simply didnt hear me until i was close enough that i had to slow right down, despite being in cycle lanes etc - not how a bell is supposed go work. It still works well and does the job but i just wish the sound travelled further.

Nice looking bell but not functional.
So I got the bell because of the design it looks amazing on my bike and is very compact but that's all The good thing I can say about it. The bell itself is very soft many times while biking people did not hear me until i was right beside them. My $20 amazon bell was way louder than this. The bell while easy to install the screw is very short so if you have a 31mm bar it will not fit on the larger sections of the bar eventhough this is a size large the scree is too short to screw in. All in all you are paying a premium for form over function. It looks nice...

Pricey but worth it
Gives a very nice resonant "ping" and looks great. Note that the adapter for smaller diameter handle bars is hidden away under the box, I was thinking mine was missing until I was about to throw the box away. This is the Apple of cycle bells.

Nice bicycle bell
I love this bell, very stealth like and I like the positive feel to striker. I had to install it the opposite way to what it should be because the cables were touching the bell and stopping the bell from ringing, this might be an issue for some but works well for me, I could have swapped things around on my bar but couldn’t be bothered. The only down side is the cost! It’s expensive and in my opinion a little over priced for a bicycle bell but saying that I would buy another.

Solid construction, compact and very nice sound
Had this for a month now and I must say its a lot better than the standard version. The sound is the same and so is the size, but the plastic parts having been replaced with metal which you can see will mean that this lasts a lot longer than the standard model (the spring had warn out on mine and was basically impossible to replace without braking the unit), So I would say that anyone interested in this bell get this luxe version over the standard one, yes it costs more, but it will last a lot longer.
