Black/turquoise/lime runs TTS
I bought a size Small in black/turquoise/lime. The size chart says Small fits chests 30”-33” and I found that to be true. I’m roughly 33-25-36. Even a 34” might find this too tight because, for some reason, the top two chest straps have minimal fabric to be extended or tightened. It’s strange because the waist straps have much more length for customization. However, a life vest should be snug and not riding up off the shoulders (as seen in reviewers’ photos). That indicates the vest is too big and will likely push the wearer’s head forward/face first when in the water. I’m only 5’2” and short waisted—I love the length! I could sit and paddle without it riding up. The arm holes seem wide enough to allow for movement and not cause friction. Also, the colors are lighter in person than shown on my screens. But the vest seems well made. I like the ring st the bottom edge. I also like the fabric as nylon/polyester vests seem to stay cooler than neoprene. But all our other life vests have buoyancy level ratings between 50-150 to denote their appropriate use. Usually we use buoyancy level 70 for ocean kayaking/SUP. This doesn’t have any numbers so am debating returning for that reason.

About the sizing...
So I read all the reviews regarding sizing and decided to order both a medium and large since my normal size is between small and medium (im 5'6 125lbs). I was very surprised that there is still room in the medium (when I have it tightly secured as it is in the photo, I could still fit a can of pop inside the jacket on each side), so fortunately, I was able to cancel the large before it even shipped. I often notice when I'm out that many people wear life jackets very loosely and I think that's what the people writing these reviews are expecting. A life jacket is supposed to fit tightly so it stays in place if you actually fall in the water. If you want it to be baggy and not snug to your body, definitely order a size or two up. However, if you want it to fit properly, then order the correct size! Update: when I received the small, it was SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the medium. Based on how the medium fit, I was expecting the small to be perfect, but it fit more like an xs or xxs, so I'm thinking the sizing issue is specifically with the small vest!

I’m new to more adventurous water sports and this was my first life vest purchase. I knew nothing about sizing and fit but I had borrowed some life vests recently and remembered what seemed to be extremely large sizing. Well after some research I learned those people are buying a baggy comfortable vest not one that will work correctly. I should have known when I never saw them actually fastened on the owner. Because I wanted to buy something that might actually save my life not just fulfill a requirement I measured. Turns out my size was way smaller than I thought but ordered anyway. Well the charts are right…this fits perfectly. It’s snug even without strap tightening but it kind of has its own structural shape. The straps don’t really make it tighter just more secure. And I actually like the snug fit much better especially while paddling….no floppy extra stuff getting in the way. I also don’t know if it’s a correct size thing or just design but the hemline on this sits a lot higher than some oversized vests I tried. Comes down to about the end of ribs which is great for sitting and paddling. I can also confirm that it works after some falls from the SUP into the surf. If you have some anxiety about swimming endurance or tend to thrash about in a panic when you fall in unexpectedly like me this is a great insurance policy.

Does the job, but it runs small.
I'm not super happy with this vest, but it does the job. I had to order a size larger than what the size chart indicated for me, so beware. They run small. Who likes wearing a life vest, anyway? I've never had a super comfortable one, so I guess this isn't any worse than other ones I've used. It does seem of good quality, and that's the most important feature. Purchase a size larger than you typically would, or you'll be sorry!

As with most O'Neall products, this life vest is great. I use it for paddleboarding and it works like a charm!

Size up!
Great life jacket, but definitely SIZE UP. I am 5’9”, 135 lbs, 32D. The medium BARELY fit me. I usually wear a size small in tops. It is way too tight on my daughter who is a gymnast who is a size 6 and has broader shoulders because of muscles. The issue is that the top two straps are really short. You can’t adjust them to be longer like you can with the bottom two straps. I ended up giving my daughter my size small neoprene life jacket from Costco and that fits her perfectly.

So Far So Good
I haven’t been in the water with this yet but I wanted to post a review anyway. This product runs small; see other reviews. I’m 5’8”, 117 lbs and normally wear a small. After reading the other comments and going by the size chart I ordered a size Medium. It fits but it’s pretty snug. It’s lightweight and It seems like it’s a quality PFD.
