Cuts Very Well - Getting to be Expensive
This cuts a lot better than the other brands (such as Lansky or no name). Puts a nice edge on your axe. Price increased a lot recently - if it comes down to $12 I would buy another just in case I lose or break the one I have now.

Works well
Not much to say about this product other than it works. I've used it on my axe and a few knives and they've gotten very sharp. My axe was completely dull and a handful of passes with the stone made it very workable. If this is the grit you're looking for, I'd reccomend.

Great Sharpening Stone, works perfectly
So not sure why it asks about sheerness in the rating, however this is a great honing stone. It has two sides to sharpen your blades. I use this now to sharpen all my knifes and spears and swords so I may fight my foes to a bloody death and find my brothers in Valhalla. Also so I can hunt a giant woolly mammoth or saber tooth cat. This stone will make your weapons so sharp your enemies will quiver in their boots and they will rue the day that they ever set foot near you and challenged you in any way. May your knifes and axes be forever sharp. No but really it’s a great stone for sharpening knives and axes and such. Make sure to buy honing oil.

Norton Puck
I ordered this stone because I carry a light hatchet in my pack. If you are planning on using this on general axes and mauls I would not recommend this stone, because it's not that aggressive of grit, even on the coarse side. Now that's out of the way, if you are looking for ONE stone that will take care your hatchet, machete and even fine knives, this is a GREAT stone. I've been sharpening stuff for over 45 years, including shaving for years with a straight razor... so it's no joke when I'm impressed with a stone. The coarse side is just aggressive enough to take minor dings and burrs out of hatchets and the fine side is surprisingly fine, capable of almost a polished edge on hunting and fillet blades. By using this stone under a running faucet of cold water, the stone doesn't jam with steel fines and it produces a very keen edge. Some people are nervous about using a puck stone in the hand, and if you are, just wet the stone and place it down on folded newspaper, which will grip the stone so you can keep your hand safe. Once you get some skill with a puck, you won't cut yourself, and you won't be hauling a bunch of sharpening gadgets in your pack anymore. This baby does it all for hatchets and knifes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, FIVE STARS.

Great to carry into the woods
Great stone. The dual sides allows easy removal of minor knicks to be taken out then immediately flip it over and sharpen. Only complaint is every time I use it I do always feel like I'm going to miss the angle. Thankfully it does seem to follow the natural edge pretty easily. Perfect for a quick touch up sharpening of an axe. I'd still prefer to go with a set angle for something like a machete. Overall a little on the expensive side but works very well

Does the Job
I am quite happy with product so I gave it a 4star rating as of Aug 2013 for 2 reason. The first being my skills at knife sharpening are not the best, but I do have a fairly sharp machete that I use for brush cutting and it works great. The second being that this stone wasn't pre-soaked in oil which makes using it with water easier and a much better option (for me) when out in the woods. Oil is somewhat harder to transport, usually causing a mess and stains (i can deal with mud and dirt on my clothes, but oil stains is a different ball game); water on the other hand is always available and dries up fairly quickly making the stone easier to transport in the pocket, bag or car. When my sharpening skills increase, and through the use of this stone i can get a super sharp blade that can cut clean through the bamboo in my backyard I will definitely give 5stars.

Old standard and still the best.
This is an old standard. Good general purpose field stone for axes or knives. Only fault was that the fine side was thinner than the coarse. Nevertheless this should be the best of the puck sharpeners made. Small size, smooth sides and light weight.

Much finer than Lansky.
The "coarse" side is a step up from the finer side of a Lansky puck. The fine side of this puck will polish an edge to a very fine level. More than adequate for a working tool. I only gave four stars because they really need to publish the specs on this thing to help people make a more informed decision.

Its delivered from the Americas
Don't order this product if you need it within one month, as this is how long it will take to arrive. I didn't realize it was shipped from the USA, as its not clear at all that this is where its shipped from. I wouldn't have ordered it if it I knew this, but mention is made of this fact.

Expensive but worth the extra money
This is a nice sharpening stone. I am using it for the kitchen drawer for the kitchen knives. It has a coarse side and a smooth side and the grits of the sides are really well thought out. The coarse is not so course that you will take a 1/4 inch off your knives each time you sharpen them. The fine side is quite fine and does a good job of finishing the blade off. Although it is a little pricey it is worth the extra money as the other stones are very coarse and not so course. I would definately recommend this as a product for sharpening knives.

Round sharpening stone
This sharpening stone dose a good job as it was designed to do, if you are looking for this type of tool it is a good choice, with a very fine side, the reason I purchased it, if you do buy it spend the time needed to learn how to use it properly, as it works very well. I would buy again if I lost this one.

Makes dull things sharp. Your axe will love this stone. You, too.
It's coarse, it's fine, it's your axe's best friend. With a little effort your axe and friend will give you wood you can be proud of. If I could sharpen my dull edge as this stone does to my axe I could spend less time chopping my own wood.

Perfect size.
Nice quality stone. Half the thickness of fiskars but much better quality.
