Oboz shoe cleaner
Excellent product, easy to use

Works as promised - just follow the directions
Still in the process of breaking in my SCARPA Men's Zodiac Tech GTX boots and naturally I come in still wearing them and a piece of fried chicken hits the toe of my boot, leaving a small grease stain. I used the corn starch method for removing the grease stain, but in the process of cleaning the boot, I also removed the water proofing at the top of the toe. The boots were already clean, so I just needed to waterproof them. I got the area wet, dabbed on the waterproof liquid, let it set for 2 minutes, wiped off the excess and let it dry overnight. No change in color to the bright orange and water beads off beautifully.

Works as advertised
I was stuck for hours in the wind and rain. I was wearing mesh athletic shoes with some nubuck on them. When I got home my socks were bone dry and shoes were too. I was shocked that it kept the water from penetrating the mesh. But man was I happy, it was super cold and totally tolerable with dry foots.

flattens nubuck
This was used on a new pair of nubuck shoes. The leather has to be damp to apply this product which can lead to one major issue. The product has a small plastic nub on the applicator tip which can score the damp leather. Heavy pressure when applying can lead to the tip leaving imprints on the leather. A second issue, which was not major to me, is that the nubuck came out looking flattened, having lost its original look and texture. That might be a deal breaker for some, but it worked out in my case because I am not a fan of the nubuck look. I have managed to avoid puddles so am unable to offer insight on the effectiveness of the water resistance.

Works good
Helped improve the already good water resistance of my leather boots. Sort of expensive though.

fixed up my wet feet
Boots had been waterproof from the start but started to get wet this summer. Called the manufacturer and they told me I needed to treat them periodically and recommended Nikwax. My Merrill boots are suede and fabric.

Better than advertised.
Went hiking in the dead of winter with my lightweight Merrell Moab’s, was told by everyone else I was hiking with ‘those are not the boots I would bring for this’. Thanks to a through coating of Nikwax and prompt sock changes I was the only one who kept their feet dry (and warm) over the three day weekend. Out performing $300+ winter hiking boots. This is one of the only products I’ve ever bought that has truly outperformed my wildest expectations. Buy it. It works.

Works!
Pros: - Instructions are straightforward and easy to follow - 10 oz spray bottles Cons: - After one waterproofing spray application established the need for a disposable glove - Would not recommend using over your nice lawn or kitchen sink Overall: Excellent product; used on Danner, Garmont and Salomon with no noticeable change in nubuck or suede color, and unquestionable improvement in water beading! Five pair of shoes and I still have enough to clean two maybe three pair of boots and waterproof a pair or two. My recommendations; use a soft nylon brush to work in the cleaning and waterproofing solutions into your footwear, and wear at least one disposable glove, helps to work in the solutions also so your hands won’t smell something like silicone when you’re done. Update: Hiking 2 – 4 times a week it took two months before my Gore-Tex boots were again losing water-repellency. I am not disappointed, knowing how much water my boots warded off as I walked in water along various tributaries. No treatment is permanent, and it takes me about 10 minutes to apply Nikwax. I’m guessing one would get longer intervals between treatments if they don’t submerge their boots in water as much as I did.

Did the job!
Used to clean my Timberland Nubuck boots. Easy to use, cleaner is exceptional, removed stains that I thought would never shift. Boots remain waterproof... what more can I say? I recommend.

Do NOT buy - Ruined two pairs of boots
Patch tested it on a pair of black suede boots and a pair of nubuck boots. It was fine so I used the cleaner and waterproof solution on both. The scrubbing brush head of the cleaner scratched the boots and the waterproofing spray ruined the colour and texture. Awful product and WILL ruin your shoes.

Thus far, results are almost too good.
I applied 2 coats (and let each dry for 24 hours) on new suede shoes. The shoes look great, no textural change. They might be very very slightly darker after Nikwax treatment, but not sure. At this point (2 coats to start, ~3 weeks ago), if I put the Nikwax treated shoes under a small stream/trickle of water from the tap, the water literally rolls off. After the first coat, results were just 'ok' (a few drops of water spattered on top of the shoe and left for a few seconds did soak in), but after the second coat, results truly did live up to those videos you might find on youtube. I'd describe the effect as 'hydrophobic'. While I'd heard (from a third party source) that one package will do to treat 5 pairs of shoes, if you have to coat twice like I did, I'd say half that - if that. While I haven't tried the sponge applicator yet, it may be better than the (non-aerosol) spray that I got because while one 'liberally applies' this product with the spray applicator, it tends to saturate the shoe and the excess then forms into drips.......there's a good chance that the sponge applicator is less messy and applies the product more efficiently.....but that's just a guess on my part. If using the spray-on, definitely put newspaper or something underneath; After liberally applying product to the shoes, I found that a few quick jerks toward the newspaper, followed by a quick (but careful) wipe of the sides of the soles with a damp cloth will take care of any excess product/drips. Overall, I like this product.

will ruin your Palladium oiled nubuck boots
The name of the product is a bit misleading, to say the least. It won't clean your nubuck boots, and obviously it won't condition the leather either. As a matter of fact, water shouldn't even be applied to that kind of finish (the product is water based), it will totally ruin it and will wash away the nice oily coat and softness of your boots. Ironically, it won't remove the dirt stains, just the good stuff. Luckily for me, I immediately took my boots to the shoe store, and bought a product that conditioned the leather and restored it's original softness and good looks. I swear, I almost cried. This product is terrible for nubuck (and probably for suede as well). Do not apply this watery soap to you shoes, you might not get lucky like I did. I am so glad I was able to reverse all the damage that this cleaner did to my nice boots. Stay away, go to the shoe store! A reimbursement would be appropriate in this case, Nikwax almost destroyed a fine pair of (I would say) high end shoes. That is the least you could do Nikwax. Note that the name of the product is "Nubuck & Suede Duo-Pack"!!! Come on Nikwax, be for real!

Does not waterproof
This does not water proof. On a slushing winter storm day, my feet were soaked and almost frostbitten after using this product on suede boots.
