I've been having better luck than the other reviewers
I got my Nicole cups from a grocery store. They are VERY barebones basic. However, I use each cup at least a dozen times, including using them to boil water in the microwave. The hardest usage I give them is to add a few tablespoons of instant oatmeal and a cup of boiling water. Then I put the 16 oz cup in the microwave for a 15 seconds to assure the water is still boiling. Then I leave the cup out to cool off. When I'm done, I stick my hand into the cup and rinse it out, which must be a minor physical stress. In the case of oatmeal, I use a different paper cup to boil the water, so neither paper cup gets the full stress. Other than that, it's for tea and coffee, filled to the rim, and I put the Nicole cup into the microwave to make the hot drinks. Within a few uses, the seam that runs from the top of the cup to the bottom starts to show a little staining. I think an important point is that I let paper cups dry out before using them again (and again). Maybe if I kept hot coffee in them for hours at a time, the cup would give out. But it wouldn't occur to me to let a paper cup get so saturated. But the cups certainly don't fall apart from the first time holding a hot liquid. If someone says that happens, they're not telling us their whole story. After many uses, I throw the cups away when the seam looks like it's getting too deformed -- and at that point the bottom of the cup continues to holds together like new -- it's the seam that starts wearing out first. When I finally throw the cup into the trash because the seam looks like it's weakening, the construction of the bottom of the cups continued to be like new. The Nicole cups give me sufficient warning before they destruct, so I've never had one come apart on me. By comparison, I also reuse cups from 7-11. Their cups are a thicker paper with a glossy coating and pretty graphics, and they're good for at least a couple of dozen uses. The "Nicole" cups are lighter weight, but they're good for more than just a few drinks.

Garbage Against Warm Beverages
I don't know about everyone else but I bought these for coffee in the workplace. They're garbage for sure when used for anything warm. The seam of the cup from base to lid eventually gives out. If you drink fast AF you're probably ok, however regardless of consumption speed, the cup does not make through a second round. In conclusion, they were cheap so whatevers and when I burn through these I'll try a different brand which could result in a positive review, but not this time.
