Wow

I just realized that I've had this caliper since 21. It was litterally the only high point of the dark years. Till this day after years of neglect and honestly abuse (rarely ever put these in it's case ). It is still accurate and also still closes smooth.. like that soft close drawer feeling. It's as if its sliding on gresco but it's dry. Best purchase I've made not once have I had buyers remorse. Compared to my ip67 Mitutoyo calipers this gets 4 stars and that's only because the neiko are not ip67. Buy now!!

Amazing for the price

It is amazing that you can get a precision instrument like this, for this price. The only downside is that the battery will probably die in 3 to 9 months, even if you hardly ever use it. It's the nature of how this instrument works that it doesn't fully turn off. But you do get an extra battery, and a battery holder spot in the case, if you want to take the battery out when putting the instrument away for a while. To get something better than this (and without the battery issue) costs 5x as much. Anyway, once you have one of these digital calipers, you'll find a bunch of uses for them - they're quite nifty. I'm quite happy with this one.

last 2 months

Product arrived quick and feels sturdy. Came with an extra battery and a hard shell cary case. Awesome for this price. Worked great in the beginning. Used it maybe 3-4 times. Went to use it the other day and when I pulled out the case it was already on with numbers on it. Tried replacing battery and reseting it. Nothing worked still says random numbers. It will not shut off or zero out. Very disappointing. I have boughten other Nieko hand tools and have been pleased with them. Edit: Reached out to Nieko customer service, they replied quickly. Turns out the battery that comes with the unit has an issue. They recommended i replace the battery. I bought new battery for caliper, and it works fine now! They said they are working to resolve the issue and also mailed me a new battery. Changing to 5 stars, customer service was great!!

THE calipers for makers!

So, I bought these calipers Feb 2021, and here it has been over 2 years, and they are still going strong - the photo was taken today. I came here to write my first review because you should buy these. High-quality steel (been used for plenty of scribe lines), very good accuracy, and an absolute steal. My one tip would be to very lightly oil the blades and outside of the caliper every few months, as only now have some small and minor rust marks appeared (so small they're barely visible). Just probably don't oil the track. These are a must-buy.

Well, not bad

Others complained about battery being dead, that maybe plausible. The item we received was turned on when we opened the case. Others also co planned it wasn’t calibrated or zeroed, there is a button on the front face to reset or calibrate the calipers. Very easy to use. Does a more than adequate job for what we paid for the item. If you need more precision, you should probably be more willing to spend more on a higher end brand.

HIGHLY RECEMMONDED

I have a set of dial calipers in both millimeters and inch, Mutotoyo and Starrett, but I decided to, after all these years, up my game with a digital. The first pair I bought was a 4" set of the cheap ones. I was disappointed by the fact it was too short to hold properly and more importantly, I had to push the power button every time I wanted to take a measurement. So, I did some research and these Neiko came highly recommended by more than one site that rated 2023 digital calipers. The accuracy and repeatability is higher than most in this price range. They are both spot-on with the published specifications. A bit more accuracy could have been obtained but that comes at a very steep increase in price. I am very satisfied with these calipers - especially since I don't have to turn them on in order to take a measurement. Their accuracy and repeatability exceeded my expectations for the price I had to pay. Many of my measurements are sub-millimeter and these calipers are doing the job. And, no more conversion charts for me. I take a measurement and then switch between the three measurement modes in order to determine for instance, the fractional size drill needed fora job.

Poor Quality Control/Assurance, Good Customer Support

The media could not be loaded. Unboxing experience -Calipers were turned on in the box when I recieved it. Battery was drained. They provided a spare. Why not just provide 2 batteries outside of the calipers? -Massive gauge in the LCD Doesnt affect functionality but I mean, I ordered a brand new product and got a damaged product. -Seemingly nice hard case. -Feels kinda gritty when sliding the calipers around. Will update when I check accuracy. Features seem nice IF it functions properly. But this IS a sub $20 product. Update: Accuracy is perfect so far. Measures perfect on all gages ive tested it with. Update: They sent out replacement calipers, no hard case, one battery inside of the calipers, dead battery on arrival. They should ship it with the battery outside of the calipers. Battery was dead on arrival. But atleast theyre trying to make things right. For a sub $20 pair of calipers with this kind of accuracy and features you cant complain too much.

Battery dies

I have the caliper for 6 years and generally happy with it. It is accurate and easy to use. My only problem is that it keeps staying on if I forgot to turn it off after the use, which happens quite often, and then the battery needs to be change. If I want to measure something now and don't have a spare battery in hand, it's annoying. For my usage pattern, a caliper with no battery would be better.

Good quality for the price

This is a good quality digital. Especially at this price point. We have a few that have been used (and maybe abused) by our QC guys for about 6 months now with no problems so far. The brand they are replacing had an average life of 3 months.

Can't fault it

I've been using this caliper a while now and am very impressed with the quality (including sturdiness and finish) and ease of use. It gives repeatable results and has a useful auto zeroing facility.

Buen instrumento a un precio razonable

Llevo varios meses utilizando, no tengo necesidad de usarlo intensivamente, mi consideración de compra fue orientada hacia un instrumento de precio razonable que proporcionará la medición más precisa que mi antiguo vernier manual de acero. Desde el momento que recibí el envío me di cuenta que la pila que traía instalada no funcionaba de manera correcta, la cambié por la segunda pila que viene pero el funcionamiento no era consistente como se requiere, en ocasiones podía medir sin problema y en ocasiones perdía la ubicación en consecuencia requería recalibrar. En algunos sitios mencionan que las pilas LR44 alcalinas que envían junto al calibrador son de la más baja calidad, este tipo de instrumentos son muy sensibles a la energía que la pila le proporciona, cambié a una alternativa de la mayor calidad, la pila SR44SW de óxido de plata proporciona 1.55v constantes durante el 90% de la vida de la batería, estas pilas son usadas para relojería. El cambio fue altamente provechoso. Espero que esta retroalimentación sirva para alguno.
