Very well built but because it's a general fit it will not fit well all dogs.

This fit my Rottweiler very well. Simply following the measuring guide and pick the size that fits your dog. I obviously don't know first hand how it feels to wear, but my dog didn't seem to mind at all, so I assume it's comfortable enough. He doesn't paw at it or rub his face against stuff to try to get it off. The cage is metal so it's nice and secure. The padded bridge seems to provide enough cushion to make it bearable for the hour or so to go to the vet. The leather straps are adjustable so you can tweak it to fit your dog. The R1 fit my Rottweiler well enough that he can still open his mouth to drink, pant, and even take a small treat. To be clear, my dog isn't mean. I bought this for vet visits to keep everyone safe (including my dog). Vet visits are stressful, which could cause a good dog to lash out. I previously had a German Shepard, and vet visits were always tense. She wasn't mean either so we never bought a muzzle. I decided to buy a muzzle for my Rottie, just to make visits easier. My vet said she appreciated the muzzle, and the whole visit seemed much more relaxed. So much so that my dog didn't even so much as growl during the entire exam. I should have bought one for my Shepard but hind sight is 20/20. This was worth every penny.

Solid and a good fit

Ordered this a little while back for my big dog who has some hyper excitability / leash reactivity issues I'm working on. We haven't gotten past getting him happy about wearing the muzzle yet but soon we'll start introducing him to some dogs while he wears it. It seems strong and durable (but hasn't been field tested yet!) and well made. Sturdy large gauge wire that isn't the least bit flexible. (I had an old one from a previous dog and that one the wires were flexible enough that on more than one occasion he got his lower jaw though the bottom of it and got it stuck. I don't see ANY way that will happen with this one.) The straps are nicely adjustable and seem like a good grade of leather. It might take a little work to measure all the measurements on your dog and look through the sizing chart to find the right size to order but it's worth it. My dog has a short but big muzzle and a very broad face with cheeks that are wider than he muzzle so the basket couldn't be too long or it would have jabbed him. But the one I picked fit him WONDERFULLY. So from a non-field tested point of view I give this 5 stars. Take the time to find the right fit and you shouldn't ever need to buy another one.

This muzzle was a Godsend. I am so glad that I found it on Amazon. I do not like to muzzle, cage or restrain my Chow Chows other than a well fenced property line, but I had to take action to stop the fighting. I brought a new puppy to the house and my jealous female would not stop attacking him. The puppy made every effort to show submission, but the female would just not tolerate him. I have owned Chow Chows for 30 years and had never had to deal with so much hostility. The Dean & Tyler Muzzle is the only one that my "houdini" female could not readily pull off. This muzzle got me through the training period and now my dogs seem to be getting along fine. My female soon realized that every time she got out of line, she got the muzzle. This muzzle worked better than anything else I tried for curing the personality conflits.

Perfect for aggressive dogs. Works miracle

I have a 130pds German Rottweiler who fear cause him to want to attack for no reason. This muzzle still allow him to breathe, pant, eat goody snacks and drink water. If he accidentally bump into things he don't scratch his noes. It's very sturdy, great quality and don't look intimidating to others . With training and a few times your dog getting to use to it. You will be happy.

Excellent Muzzle

Excellent muzzle. Slightly difficult to put on, take some practice. Once the straps are appropriately sized it works just dandy. I have 2 dogs that have been in numerous fights and this is the only way they can be around each other safely. It keeps them and us safe, I like that the spacing with the wires are sturdy and not too big.

Safe training

I love this wire dog muzzle to train an unruly large dog who is hard to control. This product keeps all living creatures free from harm, to make training the animal much easier. The dog figures out how to drink and play with it on. I will not trade this muzzle, or the wonderful rescue dog, it helped to create, for anything.

Great product.

Very well made. The measurements were right on. My dog can't get it off. I think any dog would have a hard time getting it off unless another dog chewed it off.....not that I would leave it on unsupervised. The best part was the price. I love Amazon warehouse deals!
