Buy this instead of two individual throwers
Have to throw this just right with two hands. One hand at the bottom of the handle and the other towards the top. Definitely cannot try to throw this one handed with a shot gun in the other. If you want doubles, then there’s no way around it, you gotta have a friend. Also there is a slim chance a girl will be able to throw this well unless she’s an amazon. Also the plastic gets hard in the cold so if it’s anything cooler than 65 F you will have to throw a lot harder and you will probably break more clays trying to load it. Over all a great product because you can still take each thrower off and have two individual throwers. For sure a better buy then buying two individual throwers separately. If you want a thrower that’s easier to throw, especially for ladies, I’d recommend getting the second generation which has a join in the middle. It also makes it easier for guys so your arm won’t get tired out as fast. Be warned though, the second generation throwers do not fit into this double thrower. This company makes the best hand clay throwers out there and for a very reasonable price. I’ve been using their throwers for 20+ years with no problems.

An awesome addition
This product ran flawlessly. Really happy with the manufacture as well. it was sent with the wrong bolt but the manufacture overnighted me the correct one and was very apologetic. Works better in my opinion the hand thrower I had before ( one of the hinging hand throwers.) i didnt have a problem with it from the first throw but took my brother in law a couple throws to get the hang of it. wouldn't hesitate to order another one down the line if needed

Dont let the negative reviews fool you
I've had this thrower for about a year now and it works perfectly. If your at all familiar with the mtm clay throwers you know it has a break in time and throws easier with time. I have two individual mtm throwers but wanted to be able to throw two simultaneously so now i have 4 in total and the black handle assembly. At first i tried using this is in about 35 degree weather, and as other reviewers said the new arms have a trouble releasing the pigeons. Even using the new throwers individually they are still too stiff to work effectively. So i put my two older throwers in the assembly, which have thrown hundreds of pigeons, and it worked fine. Once warmer weather rolled around i threw some pigeons through the news ones individually and they worked fine, but still a bit difficult through the double thrower. After about a box of pigeons through each thrower the double assembly works perfectly at any temperature.

It takes an ape (King Kong).
Unless you have the strength of King Kong, don't buy this thrower. I'm used to throwing a single Wincehster-made, SOFT PLASTIC, clay pidgeon thrower which is as sweet to swing as my Taylor-Made driver. We usually shoot 400 targets every Friday so I thought we'd jazz it up with doubles. The idea is good but the thrower won't release the birds. The factory has not heard of quality control and let the plastic get too hard/rigid and the handles won't realease the birds in the double-mode no matter how break-wrist hard you swing. I've tried speading the openings further but that doesn't seem to work either (still won't release the birds). I'm not a small guy nor a girly-man so lack of strength is not the problem (and others shooters have also tried it). I hope this gets back to the manufacturer and maybe they'll try their own crappy product and see what I'm talkin'bout. Maybe I'll buy one more Winchester thrower (for a total of two) and use their combining handle to throw doubles. Oh yeah, the Winchester single thrower costs $5. (Ond one star is generous but the review wouldn't accept a zero.) Duck Killer.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!
To all of the 1 star reviews stating that the Throwers break birds when inserting them or will not release them, please read the instructions. They state the the arms may become warped in cold conditions, and bending them a small bit will help to realign them. Additionally, it goes on to say that if the thrower will not release or fit discs, soak the thrower in warm-hot water, use your discretion of course, to mold the arms more significantly. It is a great design and I hope it is not ruined for people through negligence.

Good product
This is a good product but needs a bit of practice to use and a wrench applied to get it tight so it stays adjusted. It is a beginners item, so buy it to start a shooter off, not as a pertinent tool for instruction.

Great procuct and price HIGHLY RECOMENDED!
It's a great quality product, that's for sure! I usually never leave reviews, unless I got a horrible product or bad seller etc. But with this thrower I got, I'm very happy AND impressed with the quality and price for sure! Can't even find it in my local stores AND a single thrower is double the price there anyways!

The one I recieved was not great.
The red claws that hold the clays are very stiff and about 20% of the clays would shatter while trying to load them. The claws are so stiff that they would not release one or both of the clays while trying to toss them. We tried a couple different types/brands of clays to make sure it wasn't just bad clay. The clays that did load and release were fun to shoot and they launched beautifully. Around the 50th toss the black handle broke in half and tossed the two red claws into the field. Now I have two red clay tossers that I don't use because they are too rigid.

Sturdy. I found it hard to consistently throw a tidy clay. Can buy a spring trap second hand for not much more.

takes a bit of getting used to!
Good product, but you need a good bit of strength to use it and its difficult to launch two clays at the same time, some of the larger guys found it easier to use than most. Very good work out, you know about it the next day! overall good bit of kit for the cash once you get used to how to throw clays with it
