Makes coffee!
Got this as an inexpensive alternative for a fancy coffee maker. We have calcium build up in all appliances, hard water. I could not get the old one cleaned and working. The footprint is small. The negative review from a left handed person was the lid hinged the wrong direction to poor water in. Dad is left handed, and the coffee drinker. I told him about the review, and just advised: turn the coffee pot so the lid is in the back! Its cylindrical, and weighs about 2#. So its not hard to rotate the machine. Or, pour with your right hand. (I can pour left or right handed, I don't think I am magic.). LOL! He said it worked fine. It is a slower brew than a 1 cup at a time keurig, but costs $20, and is by far better for the environment than those plastic cups! Review is for 4 cup Mr. Coffee, 5-2023, paid approx $20.

Reliable, trustworthy, unfussy
This is my 3rd Mr Coffee. I've worn out 2 others--each after @8-10 years of daily use. There's lots of ways to make coffee (I own several alternatives) but most important is getting a decent, hot cup of coffee first thing, every morning, without fuss. Just like the headline says, Mr Coffee is reliable, trustworthy and unfussy. Sadly, it wasn't available in white or with the removable filter basket during Covid, but neither feature was a dealbreaker. Would I buy a Mr Coffee again? Absolutely yes.

Exactly what I was looking for...
I wanted a small coffee maker and this one is the perfect size and works great. Remember that Mr. Coffee says its a 5 cup coffee maker, they mean a 5 ounce cup - I usually make 15 ounces for a large mug and a half. I'm using Melitta Junior Basket filters - they are sold separately - you can buy them at the grocery. Also, love how the white looks in the kitchen.

A Lefties FYI review
This Mr Coffee is just as good as all its predecessors. Only one issue. It is not made for left handed people. The old model you opened the top to the back and either hand will be able to pour water into the container. With this one you have to turn the machine around or pour the water with that other hand. Not a big thing you say. Well, everybody in this household is lefthanded except for one guy. Lets hope it lasts 30 years too. I inherited my last Mr Coffee from mom-in-law.

Not bad
First, it works and is considerably faster than 12 cup brewers. It does not come with any kind of filter, paper or reusable. I discovered that if you remove the the basket where the filter goes, standard size basket coffee filters work great. While this removes the option taking one cup without dripping, the maker is so fast that such isn't necessary. While the unit works well, it does feel a bit flimsy compared with the 12 cup brewers. Big Pro - this little pot in not only much faster in brewing a few cups than the 10/12 cup size brewers making the same amount. Also, the coffee is significantly hotter as well.

Perfect, except for no automatic shut off after an hour or so if you forget to switch it off.

Easy to use
I had a Cuisinart 4 cup for years an when it quit working, got this 5 cup brewer. This brewer works better, gets the water hotter and is easier to fill and clean. I prefer the manual shut-off as it wastes less electricity. Makes 2 large mugs of perfect coffee.

Honestly perfect
This is perfect! I was able to fill up two coffee cups full with no problem. Of course if you wanted more then two cups you can always just make more. It reminds me of the ones you see in a hotel room. Just a simple on/off switch.

SIMPLE
Well Packaged, Looks Clean, Easy to Setup, Smart Design, Simple to Use, Quick & Tasty Coffee. Got the white version for more visibility when cleaning. Love the 5cup compact size. Make sure to get the right Coffee Filter for this (2-5cup small). Do not buy the regular 10-12 cup filters. Also go easy when cleaning the pot as the glass is thin & the handle is not the sturdiest. I saw quite a few reviews from lefties complaining about the design of the lid because it opens from the right side instead of the traditional lid which opens upwards. I'm personally ambidextrous so I can definitely understand when I tried to use left hand to open the lid, pour the water, putting the filter and scooping the coffee in the filter. It's a bit inconvenient but for right handers, it's a clever design and simple to use. This little coffee maker is on the expensive side so it's understandable for people nitpicking it. All in all, I would definitely recommend it especially when it's on sale for around $50 Canadian Dollars.
