Only one kit is in a pack and the directions clearly state that to understand whether or not you have higher than normal levels of mold you need to get an indoor and outdoor reading. In fact, when you dig into mold remediation companies and mold in general you'll find that you need to basically test every area of your home at least twice and compare it to one or more outdoor samples to get a read on whether there's excess mold in your home and if it's different than what's outside. Even then, you don't know if the mold you found is benign or harmful unless you pay for a $40 test. That's fine, if you suspect an issue it's fair to have it sent to a lab for testing. The problem is that most people don't know that every home has mold in it. Some of that mold can even be the harmful kind. The trick to it all is that even with harmful mold it really won't affect you unless it is growing out of control at levels above what are considered safe, even for the harmful variety. So as a test this works fine. I found mold growing in my daughters room and it was concerning. I removed the mold with a bleach solution and then ran this test a few days later to see whether or not there was the same kind of mold and an abundance of it. I left the Petri dish out for 3 hours instead of the recommended 1 hour and after 48 hours there were 2 of the tiniest mold spots growing in it. After 96 hours there were 3 of them, I could tell they were the same type I had cleaned off the wall and none were more than the size of a quarter. This tells me that there isn't a substantial mold issue in the room and that I need to continue to monitor the area where I first found it. Again, we're back to not knowing what the baseline for the home is because you have to buy multiple kits and test outdoors to get that baseline. So I base this off of the results of others in similar rooms that I've found online. There is a 99% chance you will find mold with this test. That isn't necessarily bad. All homes have mold. You need to have a way of knowing whether there is some area that is consistently allowing mold growth, if the levels of mold growth are too high to be safe, and if the type of mold is dangerous to breathe (not all are). So be careful reading these results. The presence of mold doesn't mean you have an infestation and need remediation. All homes have mold. Best thing I could say is pay the $40 fee to get it tested to see if it's dangerous mold and even then you'll need to know whether it's consistently getting in your house and if the level of mold in the air is at a point where it's harmful to health which just can't be done without an expert coming out to test. This product is really best to give one piece of mind after they've cleaned some mold. For me it let me know that yeah, there's still mold in the air but it isn't growing on the wall where I found it anymore and after taking a sample 3 times longer than the directions asked for I still only got minor growth after waiting 4 entire days.

I wish I didn’t do this
So the instructions on this or not completely clear, it does say to ship it out within two days of testing, but then the package says to ship it out if you see mold growing but by the time you see mold growing you’ve already missed that window. I’m buying a second one to test to send it out. I was shocked at the amount of different molds in my house. I put mine in the center location and so much stuff grew on it that I am honestly genuinely worried about what I’m breathing. I think it’s worth everyone testing there’s a chance that when I get the test results back they’ll tell me it’s standard, but I need to know now.

Have used several times.
I have used this product several times in different homes to see what kind of mold we were dealing. I'm not 100% sure if the results were spot on or not but I can at least hope. It gave us an ideal at least.

Worked
After looking up my symptoms of being sick for months I finally ordered a mold test. We put it in our bathroom which was the most ventilated room due to the fan. Came back positive for mold which lead us to search the whole apartment. Found black mold in the window frames and left promptly to go camping in our trailer within a week or two our symptoms cleared up. Working on moving to a mold free environment. Didn’t send it in to be tested. Didn’t have time for that. Can’t image what it even looks like now a month later… maybe I’ll update this with a new photo.

Worked great!
Was worried about mold in my air at home and to my surprise only 2 small dots appeared and it was MUCH less than outside so I am happy with results I did not need to send them into the lab but I go what I needed and it was fun!

Not what I expected
Firstly- I was unable to read follow the packaging instructions- the website is more clear of what steps to follow. Next We used the kit incorrectly and ended up wasting the money spent on the kit and the lab results. When I read the product description I thought you had results right away with out sending in, then I purchased the lab portion- but as we completed the test incorrectly I assume we will have no results. I am not sure if an instruction page was lost in transit - But I know how to complete the test IF we choose to purchase another one and try again.

It's NOT okay to return kits that don't show mold!!
The kit is easy to use, their videos are very helpful, and I like that you don't pay for the lab analysis unless you grow something. And speaking of not growing anything, what is wrong with someone to return a USED kit just because it didn't show mold??I ordered 2 kits, one for airborne mold and the other for testing mold in the vents. One came normal, the other came with growth medium already poured and mold growing in it!! If your mold kit doesn't grow anything, count yourself lucky and throw it away. Don't return it to Amazon!!

Useless
Product did what it's supposed to do, company, and lab did not. Useless without that part. They're also not communicative at all. Three messages to them, zero responses. Useless product, useless company. Go with a different brand.

Exactly what I hoped to expect.
At first I was doubtful if this product would work but I was desperate enough to try it out as I had suspicions of mould growth in my home. My family and myself was experiencing persistent allergies/ cold like symptoms.. respiratory issues, runny noses, irritated eyes, congestion, etc. after purchasing this test kit and carefully going by its instructions, within a week I got instant results. Mould started to aggressively grow in the containers from the affected areas in my home. I recommend this product.
