Only one small problem

i've been using the recessed paper holders for many years, I don't remember the name brands. This is my preferred type of holder as they are not as obtrusive as the install on the wall type. The only problem I had with this one is that the screws that go into the backing clamp, in this case the 588 Donner clamp, are one size too small. This holder is sent with #8 x 2in. screws and they were too small for the opening in the clamp. The length was probably sufficient but I replaced them with #10 x 2 1/2 in. screws. For this reason alone is why I gave it only 4 stars.

Installation Holes Not 3” Apart

Trying to replace an old one, most descriptions don’t give the distance between screw holes. Someone answered a question that it was 3” on this one, but it’s 3.5” so we have to return. Nothing wrong with it other than no accurate description of that measurement.

Good solution but not necessarily "high quality" metal

I had to replace a toilet holder that had pitted over the years so this worked well. It installed in about a minute and I only needed a screw driver. It looks great. I'd give it 5 stars but I'd like to leave room for a toilet paper holder that might be sturdier metal. The metal was kind of thin in comparison to the old one I pulled out. I guess they don't make 'em like they used to!

Need backing or not?

It worked out well, even though after I purchased Amazon asked if I wanted to purchase a backing. Wasn't sure if I needed done or not until it came. I didn't but my was a retro fit, and the wood backing was already there.. So that is why I gave it four stars because they should let you know about the backing piece and what types of applications need it.

Easy to install - except the screws are too short

I replaced an old recessed toilet paper holder in brass. So the hole was already there and I reused the bracket that was holding the old one. The only problem I found was that the screws it came with were too short making it impossible to install. I reused the screws I had from the old one and everything went in smoothly.

Ça prends une ouverture j’en avais déjà une que j’ai dû agrandir et un support arrière 2 petits blocs avec une planche pour visser le support à papier de toilettes mais je préfère celui ci à ceux qui dépasse qui prennent plus d’espace

More shallow than expected, so had to use my own screws to fit into place, and it's a very cheap plastic but sharpens up the area from the old rusty metal one.
