Decimal inches! Mils! Millimeters!
Annoyingly hard to find a rule that a mechanical engineer or draftman would use. They always want to use useless fractional inches! I'm not a freeking carpenter. Please serve my inches in mils and with my metric equivelent alongside. Perfect size to pack in any toolkit or briefcase. Thank you.

Perfect for my amateur machining
I'm an amateur machinist and use little scales like these for a number of things in the machine shop. This scale is different than my others because it has metric on one side and imperial (decimals of an inch) on the other as opposed to fractions of an inch on one side and decimals of an inch on the other. It turns out this is perfect for quick measurements to verify layouts on parts, making a quick sketch to scale, or even quick and dirty lay out. While I don't use metric in the shop, if I needed to, it's nice to have a scale that has it as well.

May not like it but harder to find fault - not so sure now.
Likes: * Really glad I didn’t pay full price. * Japanese quality (?) with superb etching. * Thin and flexible for situations where that works. Dislikes: * Its a ruler and straightness is secondary to clarity and readability of scale. I’m picky and it bothers me. * Having set this aside (unused) in its protective sleeve and thinking a little more about this ruler, it’s banana shaped edge is so irritating and inexcusable to me how ever small it’s deviation from just plane straight, I don’t want to deal with it and/or waste money. * Back it will go.

Perfect little ruler
This ruler is thin enough to be somewhat flexible, makes easy for tight spaces

Mitutoyo products are great
This is graduated in 10th's & 100th's of an inch, just what I needed.

Trustworthy quality - my go-to pocket rule
Just about the perfect small rule. Inches in tenths & hundredths (graduations are very fine, crisp, and legible, with easy to count alternating tick lengths), mm on the back side... the most usable combination for anyone working with metal or mechanical things. The rule is slender and thin enough to follow gently curved surfaces. A joy to use. Now if only Starrett would bring their production back home (or at least move it out of a country that imprisons and enslaves their minorities), I'd reconsider their stuff. As it stands, I'll take Mitutoyo's excellent Made-in-Japan quality all day long. This one is my go-to pocket ruler.

Non-USA version
Yes, Mitutoyo is a Japanese company but this scale is advertised as made in the USA. The one I received is made in Japan. It's half the thickness of my other USA made Mitutoyo scale. Markings are good though. I wish it came with a pocket holder. Paid $15 for this one.

Fantastic machinist pocket rule
Fantastic machinist pocket scale. I use it more often than my calipers or mics, and graduations in decimal inch are clutch for us CNCers. And its so thin yet rigid, it doubles as a fantastic scraper

Is It really A Mitutoyo?
I've had Mitutoyo products in the past and found them to be very high quality. This item is less than I had hoped for. Rule measures 6" on one side but is only 5.994" on the other. Advertised as .5" wide it is only 4.77". I have an older variant of the same ruler and it measures .022" thick. This one .017". The graduations appear to be relatively accurate (except for the .01" side that is a little short) and they are etched into the metal. I am not impressed with this tool as it feels flimsy in my hand. Either Mitutoyo has made the choice to make their products less robust or this is in fact a cheap clone. I can't really say but I would not buy again.

thin measure
ok it is what it is, as advertised but it is very thin sheet metal not in keeping with the standard that Mitutoyo is known for. I measured it as being 0.015 inch thick, for the price paid I feel ripped off. I will not return it as it does as it says it will, "fit, form, and function" is ok but really cheaply made, in my opinion its crap, sorry.

Exactly as Specified, Great Quality
I work in custom fabrication and I keep this in my shop shirt pocket all day and every day. Extremely handy to have on hand, very good quality. Mitutoyo never disappoints.

NOT made in U.S.A.
The image says made in U.S.A. but the actual product is stamped "Made in Japan". For this I dropped 2 stars. Measurements are good. Does the job
