Will it work for my Aerogardens? Yes...Is it perfect? No

I purchased two of these units...one via Amazon and one via Aerogarden's website. I have been in the process of setting up a separate room in my home to house all of my Aerogardens and various other hydroponic growing units and because I purchased these shelves as I would find them on sale, I did not put either of them together until I was closer to having the room completed to set them up in my grow room. I also wanted to paint the shelving units to match the decor/theme of the room (more on that in a bit). First, assembly wasn't terrible. All hardware was included along with the ever-popular Allen wrench to tighten everything up. If you lay out the pieces so that they make sense, keeping in mind the end product is a slightly angled A-frame, you'll be fine. I have several Aerogarden units, including a Bounty Elite, a vintage 7-pod unit, several Harvests, Harvest 360's, and a couple of slims and looked forward to artfully arranging several units on each shelving unit. Once painted (I used Krylon Fusion "Hammered" finish in black for the first two coats and finished with a couple of coats of Krylon Fusion black satin finish spray paint) I moved my Bounty Elite to the bottom shelf on one of the units and immediately found that while the water basin and base fits just fine, there is no way that the light can be fully extended, which is very much needed for the two tomato plants that are currently inhabiting that garden. I was bummed as I had specifically purchased the shelving units, designed and made by Aerogarden, assuming their top of the line garden unit would fit. With fingers crossed I then proceeded to test out the Classic 7 pod unit I had and while the base fit just fine, this time the hood of the unit was simply too large to be raised once it got to the height of where the wood legs started narrowing toward the top of the shelving unit. I figured I could wood plane enough off the legs to allow the light hood to be raised fully, but of course had to then repaint the unit once done. Not a fun job, but I would not expect Aerogarden to manufacture a shelf to accommodate garden units that are no longer sold. If I ever purchase another Aerogarden Bounty, I will use the lower shelf where I had intended to put my existing Bounty, but will use it to grow something that doesn't require the light height to be as high as is necessary for most tomato plants. All other models fit on all of the shelves with their lights fully extended though I did find adding water to units sitting on the uppermost shelf to be a bit hazardous so I opted to use those shelves for some lighted trays where I can move the planters down to table level for watering. All in all, I give the Aeroshelf a very high 3, but not quite four-star rating as I feel for the price, the units should accommodate their Bounty models fully.

It was slightly confusing at first to put together because each part goes in an exact place to put it together properly but it's no problem to just unscrew and move. Overall very happy with it and it's holding my gardens no problem.

Some what difficult to put together but overall I love it

The first shelf I received had to be sent back as it didn’t have the holes in the proper place to put together and the slats to put the shelves in did not align either. The replacement shelf arrived quicker than the first one. The instructions kept referring to lettered pieces to put the product together but nothing was lettered. It took a few minutes to sit down and figure out exactly how it should go together, but it went together quickly and seamlessly once I figured that out. Once together the shelf is much sturdier than what I expected and is excellent for my aerogardens. It comes with everything you will need to put together. I love the bamboo and how the bigger aerogarden goes on the bottom with the smaller one on top. There is also enough room to be able to adjust my lights as needed as my vegetables and herbs grow. I would recommend the shelf to anyone looking for a shelf for their aerogardens.

Aerogarden Shelf

So I usually look at the negative reviews first when trying to decide on a purchase. This one had a good deal of negative reviews, but most really didn't make sense. At least one stated that it is not as tall as advertised. It is as tall as advertised. My two Bounty gardens fit on the lower shelves with the lights fully extended. Some said it is not sturdy. Mine is very sturdy. The only negative that I read that is true is the crappy instructions and the fact that none of the pieces are labeled. But there is a good YouTube video on how to install. Pay attention to the different pieces and it should be very easy. I was going to do a DYI version but after adding up the cost of materials this was just a little more and a lot less time consuming. The wife is very happy with the look.

Frustrated - wrong parts, impossible to assemble - returned

I'm so frustrated! This shelf is perfect for my needs. I can't find anything that would work as well. With that said - design means nothing when I can't even complete the assembly. I was diligent about laying out all of the part, the hardware, etc. I looked over the assembly instructions multiple times. Even before I started the assembly, I noticed that one of the bottom shelf legs was notched incorrectly. I decided to go forward with the build just to be sure I wasn't mistaken. I followed each step meticulously. The top went together with very little issues. Main complaint there is the fraying wood at the pivot line but that's somewhat to be expected when dealing with raw bamboo. It all went wrong, as I knew it probably would, when I started assembling the bottom. The notches did not match so the top was impossible to connect to the bottom. I took it apart, tried again. And a third time for good measure. I went to the reviews to see if anyone had the same issue and sure enough - there it was. Same exact problem with not only the first shelf they had received but also with the replacement that Amazon sent. I waited for my husband to get home so he could troubleshoot the assembly for one last Hail Mary and when that proved fruitless I took it apart, packed it up and sent it on it's way back to Amazon. Someone had a bad day on the packing line the day some of these shelves were boxed up, that's for sure!

It works for me needs but it doesn't feel too sturdy. That said if you aren't shaking things it does it's job fine.

The bamboo pieces were great, but it would've been even better with the hardware.

I was seriously looking forward to assembling this shelf so that I could move over my hydroponic units. When unpacking everything, I discovered that the hardware included (both types of screws and the Hex Wrench thing) were left out. In the assembly guide for the Wall Shelf, they would be items I, J, and K on page 2. While I wish I could share a picture of the shelf properly assembled, unfortunately I can only provide pics of loose material.

Best instructions ever!

It looked like a horrible job to put the shelf unit together but I have never seen such clear, simple and well written instructions. Where you could make a mistake it says remember this should go facing forward etc etc. It wasn’t the easiest job, especially when a cat decides that she can climb on your back and have a nap as you are putting screws in bits of wood, but didn’t take too long. I only have one garden in place so far but will move one more on and move the painting! Very pleased with the shelf unit.

Useful shelving system for a kitchen garden

Building was quick enough and there's enough space to have two large AeroGarden units with some storage space. While it can hold the weight just fine, the unit is tall so it is probably a good idea to tuck it in a corner to avoid tipping it over!

Great spacing for tall plants

I bought this shelf for my aerogardens, but than liked how much the shelves were spaced apart that I bought a second for my house plants! It's very hard to find shelves that are this spaced apart. (I have several tall plants) Only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I do find it a little flimsy, not a shelf I would suggest if you have little children!

BEST EVER!

I now have three of these stands. They are perfect for my Aerogardens but also for all my plants. They look fabulous, are light and easy to move around, and putting them together was easy peasy. After exploring wayyyy too many shelf options, I discovered these and they are absolutely fabulous.
