A learning experience

I didn't appreciate this at first, but it helps a lot to contain radio traffic if you work in security or law enforcement using radios, so the person you're interacting with doesn't hear warrants on the ID check, etc. I've had zero issues with this functionality wise. I can even plug this into a phone, sadly the phones that still have audio jacks, and listen in, such as being on hold for extended periods of time. My only gripe is the ear piece can fall out of the ear regularly. This depends on a lot of factors such as ear size, sweat, etc. I've resorted to buying earmolds which can help conform to the ridges in the ear allowing the ear piece to stay in place. Thankfully MaximalPower also makes these. If you're using an ear piece once in a blue moon, the included ear piece will do just fine. Using this on a daily basis for hours at a time I'd look into getting an earmold if the included earpiece doesn't stay in your ear. My other problem is this unit tends to favor right ear individuals, at least the unit appears to be designed for right ear users predominately. I wish it was more universal both left and right ear users. It can be used for left ear users, the unit just might not sit right or flush depending how you mount it. Final note, noise. This unit doesn't work well for concerts or super loud environments. Offers zero hearing protection. My area has a lot of elevated highways and I can hear fine underneath them.

Cost Effective

I got the ear piece three months ago, and so far it has worked just as I had wanted it to. The sound quality is perfect for radio traffic. The only recommendation I have is if you have some oddly shaped ears then I would try to get an ear piece adaptor. All in all though great buy for the price, and I am very pleased with this product.

It's worth it

The sound is very clear. I've used it for over a month. I haven't had to wrestle with someone while wearing it so I can't speak to the durability. I will say my ears can be sensitive with airpods/ headphones and these are pretty comfy. I've had them in for 8-10 hr shifts and they haven't been irritating.

Three years staffing TTITD with it

So I staff a large an event in the Black Rock Desert where they give me an event radio. I wear it while I am awake. Can you imagine having a thing in your ear that you are listening to from 5:30 AM until you go to sleep and then add to that some gritty dust that will burn your skin if you sweat. And it gets in everywhere and attacks all contacts, electronics, metals, and bonds to all plastics and rubber parts. I get a good solid two event years of use from this, it is comfortable, I can hear clearly with it, and it is robust. I replace it before it fails so I can't tell you how long it takes to kill it. They are cheap enough that I carry three with me at all times as I keep a back up and a back up to my back up and one to gift. I have never had to use any of the back ups. I suggest you go out on a limb and buy three of these, and gift one away. * Staff Playa Name Omitted but it has something to do with SCUBA.

Best Budget Earpiece

I rarely ever leave a review for a product. However this earpiece has been a God send. I have worked in law enforcement now for going on 8 years. I purchased this earpiece back in 2016 and as of the writing of this review it died on me. 7 years of use out of my original ear piece and just ordered my next one for delivery today. That's how good this thing is. You will not be disappointed.

Look, I'm always skeptical when purchasing items and whatnot especially reading low rated reviews, which is very discouraging. But the low rated reviews below are just people who don't know how to handle their products well. So far I had this earpiece for a week and it works like a charm. FYI: For the people who say the sound isn't too loud are probably the people who blasts their music at the highest volume, damaging their eardrums permanently. Please don't listen to loud music for extensive periods of time! Q: Can I use this for music? A: Yes but don't get so hyped up. First of all, it's possible to listen to music and other programs but its intent is too listen through voice or other vocal audio sources. Listening to music at a loud volume extensively may degrade the earpiece over time Q: How good is the audio quality? A: The price should give some of it away but again, it's a security/surveillance ear piece, it's suppose to be quiet and inconspicuous. Have you ever heard how a stethoscope sounds like in your ears? It's basically the same in this case; you can hear the sound when you rub your fingers against the wires and the audio sounds like it has extra bass but the earpiece knocks out any outside noise so that you can hear from the earpiece. Q: WYSIWYG? A: Yes, the product you see here in this picture is what you get. Of course my shipment was in a nice packaging envelope. Inside of that envelope was a plastic zip-lock bag containing the earpiece and a plastic cardboard that advertises the brand and specs of the earpiece. Q: Hassle? A: Yes, unfortunately, for this particular earpiece, you need to take the time to properly set up the wiring inconspicuously. If installed properly, the only thing that should be visible is the clear tubing that connects to your ear. Another thing that I was disappointed is that the earpiece is design only to be in your left ear but you can use the right ear too. However, you will not be able to loop the tubing around the ear. The black coiled-up wires that connects to the device can also be a hassle. I would've liked it if they didn't coiled-up the black wire. Please, don't let this discourage you, it's still comfortable! Q: So what is that big bulge in the middle and the clear plastic tubing? A: This receiver comes with a plastic clear tubing, which has no wires or anything inside, that can be moved, manipulated depending on the head movement. It feels comfortable if you installed your earpiece correctly. I'm no audio expert so I may be wrong but the big bulge in the middle is where the clear tubing converts into the black wire. It also includes a clipping so you can clip it to your clothes. Conclusion: Despite some hassle, low-bass sound, coiled wiring, I think this earpiece does the job, especially for the unbeatable price! I would recommend anyone to purchase this product! (Btw, this earpiece is kinda stylish, looking like a sexy security guard or secret agent man XD)

The review you need

So I have been working as a LEO for 5+ years now and I am constantly buying the replacement coils. I often find that mine consistently form humidity in the coil and require the use of a compressed air can to clean out. sometimes it would not work and then die all together. the 3.5mm jack it universal to a radio that has a single input port. I would recommend that you buy fitted ear pieces as the one provided is just a cheap silicone fitment like cheap ear buds.

Satisfied overall, definitely worth the money but

I started working security recently and so an earpiece is a must. I bought this one and have used it for the past month. It's pretty good I haven't had any problem with it, it works just as expected. Though I have sensitive ears and having the plastic part sit in my ear for hours is quiet uncomfortable. Also the part that goes around my ear often falls off. But these things happen with other earpieces too, I'm just saying. There are two clips on the earpiece. The one that connects the transparent part with the black cord is pretty big and when you clip it on the back of your shirt it scratches the back of your neck. You have to find the perfect position which can be pretty annoying.

Have used it once so still getting used to it, could do with something to hold it in position more securely (earpiece that is) some of my colleagues use sticking plaster to keep in position so they must experience the same difficulty.

Surprisingly Useful

I wanted a way to listen to music and still hear what's going on around me, and these things deliver shockingly good sound quality for what they are. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the cord is too short to reach pants pockets nicely.

Good earpiece for airsoft

Purchased 2 of these specifically for airsoft, with one being a spare Out of the box they work fine, however, the mushroom tip that comes with it, while it is comfortable, after a while it can get uncomfortable, & if you're a fan of it not sounding like your one ear is plugged when you're talking, you're better to invest in some earmolds of some sort to attach instead, that will allow you to hear things through the earpiece, but still retain your ability to hear sounds around you as well. I utilized one of them at an airsoft game on April 6 this weekend. However, no one else had a radio on my team, so I'm unable to comment on the audio clarity with the sound of airsoft going on around me. I would recommend one of those earmolds of some type, that are available here on Amazon, or from other online retailers, as the mushroom tip can get uncomfortable if you'll be wearing this earpiece for a long period of time.
