Magnetic almost too strong
Strong magnet; easily holds my 18" heavy duty pipe wrench (the heaviest thing I had handy) (of course, only temporary for the pic). Nice 16" OC mounting holes. I didn't like the yellow band, but it is just yellow tape so I pulled it off and covered the bar with standard 3/4" electrical tape so everything now is black. The magnets are spaced around the bar as shown, but that's OK. The magnets are strong enough to hold pliers through the plastic coating on their handles, which is what I'm doing.

16 in apart center on mounting holes, strong magnet
This is third type of Magnet bars that I have bought for my peg board and it's perfect. Strong magnet with 16 inches mounting center holes which is exact measurement for my peg board. FYI, the yellow line is just nylon tape.

Indisputable proof of their strength
I ordered one bar but received two because two boxes stuck together so firmly the packer thought they were a single unit. THAT’s how strong these magnets are. I’ve owned one for over five years and still in perfect condition so I bought one (two) more and they remain perfect and extremely easy to install

Great utility
Have several of these on my pegboard and love them. Really versatile for managing various tools and provides great organization.

HOLY MAGNETISM! About as heavy duty as a magnetic tool holder gets!
These Master Magnetics AMC18PLC Magnetic Tool Holders are AMAZING. They cost a little more than cheaper competing products, but the magnetic holding force is far superior. In fact, if you have a tool that has a lot of metal surface area, such as a Kreg Pocket Hole Clamp, the magnets are TOO powerful, and I would worry that wrenching the clamp free would overstress the mounting screws. That said, the holding power is perfect for chisels, screwdrivers, wrenches, and other such common items. I have mine mounted on a rolling cart, which is why I was concerned to find some really powerful magnets. Now I can roll over bumps or jostle the cart very hard and not have to worry about anything falling off. In fact, when I first received these, I attached a full suite of wrenches and chisels and shook the entire bar at arms length... Nothing happened! Not a hint of movement from any tool! Simply awesome. This particular bar is 18" long, which is perfect for my needs, since I'm mounting it in an 18.5" wide space and in my experience, it is good to leave a little extra space (1/4") at either end of the bar so that attached tools don't get crowded by the sides of your cabinet/cart/corner wall. Having handled two of these now myself, I can attest they really do seem to have 20 lbs. of holding force PER INCH. Also, I now understand what other reviewers mentioned about the red stripe. It is indeed just a thin strip of red electrician's tape, but cleanly applied and recessed deeply enough that it MAY last; however, it is not especially durable and will tear or abrade easily if you mount any kind of tool with a protrusion that can reach or rub against it (I'm not sure what that would be... maybe a hand saw or coping saw with a small side screw adjustment that can reach between the bars). Obviously, the red tape is there to hide the series of magnets sandwiched between the top and bottom metal plates. (Those magnets are plainly visible on the backside.) It would be easy enough to replace the tape if damaged, and frankly, I don't mind if the stripe doesn't hold up. Even with exposed magnets, I think it will look fine in a workshop. It's not going over the mantle. I only mention it in case it does matter to others. All in all, I can't imagine a better magnetic tool holder. Aside from the red tape issue--which doesn't bother me--the only other concern I can think of is that the magnets may be too powerful for some people's tastes. As I mentioned above, large surface area tools can clamp on with quite a bit of force, so I would not recommend this for large flat metal surfaces like some heavy duty clamps, nor for precision tools like a calipers or steel framing square since the force may cause minor deflection when attaching/removing those tools that then throws off their precision. For everything else, these are ideal. If I were going to improve one thing, I think I would place the mounting holes inside the bar "sandwich" (i.e., through the center of the red stripe) to give it a cleaner look without the protruding mounting tabs. No big deal though. Since I'm mounting mine low down on the face of a cart, I flipped them upside down (versus the picture) so you don't see the tabs from normal standing eye level anyway. Very highly recommended!

A must have for an organized work area
I have this identical item and bought another for my son for Christmas. I have it on my pegboard tool area, screwed into the studs behind. It's great for those tools that don't hang well on pegboard hooks like plyers, files, open end wrenches, vice grips, etc. The magnet is strong...nothing falls off. These basic tools are always ready and easy to find; they pull off easily; they go right back when done.

Quality, strong, and a full 24 inches
Too many of these bars say 24 inches, or 12 inches, etc, but they are a few inches shy because there is 1-1.5 inches on each side that isn't magnetic where the screws go in. These are a full 24 inches. They may be a bit uglier because of where the screws go, but I need these to save space and maximize storage. I have a small shed and I used these on my ceiling hanging crescent wrenches, vice grips, chisels, etc. Very strong, nothing ever drops on my head. Love them.

Powerful
I like this holder. Im aware it is intended for tools, i have a couple of high carbon knives i want to protect. I was worried that a typical kitchen knife holder may not cut it....no pun intended...almost has more holding power than I anticipated. I am going to buy 2 more for my shop. And I do like the look of it. We have the standard silver magnets under our cupboards for the kitchen knives. But I think the look of this one is way cooler

Solid but FLAT HEAD screws?
Works as advertised - can even hold a small hammer by the front. That's after I covered the front with Gorilla tape to protect the paint. Only question was why to include FLAT head screws for installation. Even with a hand-held screw driver working slowly, still it slipped off several times, potentially scratching the surface. Please just include Robertsons or Phillips.

The strongest magnet bars I’ve ever seen!!!
The strongest magnet I’ve ever seen. These bars are so strong. Exactly what I needed for my tools. I bought other bars before but they were week and with little shake tools were falling down. However these bars are incredible. Very happy with them. I attached two bars by accident and I had very hard time to take them apart. I had to use screw driver and other tools to take them apart!! The only cons is they are pricey.

Arrived with magnets detached
Arrived with one of the small rectangular magnets that are mounted in series along the length of the holder detached and falling out, the cheap yellow tape covering the magnets in the holder bunched and twisted. Steel holder / bar is simple enough, and the magnets appeared to be strong - hence two stars, though overall I am not impressed at all. I probably could have fixed adequately with a good adhesive and covered the yellow tape with something else - but I'm not about to repair / revamp a new item right out of the delivery box, so back to Amazon it goes. You can do better without spending more money; I suggest that you keep looking.
