Great quality but over priced
I use this product as a first aid kit. I wish this pouch has loops for the penlight and emergency shears on the side panels, and then it worth $30 to me. Quality is great and it will last for a while.

After hours of reading and watching vids, this turned out perfect.
So when looking into the whole 'EDC' phenomenon, which I fell into as I was looking into options for something like a 'belt-pouch', I came across this along with the bazillion other similar models from Maxpedition. My purpose was to move everything from my pockets to a compact pouch I wanted to wear on my belt. Max's EDC pouches seemed good at first, but they opened sideways (from a belt), and also needed modification to wear on a belt. The H-1 was another option, but it was velcro only, and I wanted a secure snap. The M-2 looked good but maybe too small. I was also worried that this M-1 might be too big (look stupid and get in the way), and then I was worried that it might be too small for ~everything~ I carry. Got it in the mail today, and it's awesome. It looks great and has great construction (of course, from Maxpedition). I got the foliage color which was on sale. The belt loop is very stout. AND ... I was able to fit all of my 'pocketries' with a little room to spare. Doesn't stand out--looks like a camera case or something. Doesn't look dorky, but maybe it just doesn't look dorky to me. ;) Was able to fit: Front - Wallet - Blackberry Bold 9700 with armor Back main - Keys - Pens - Comb - Knife - Chap-stick - Business card holder with biz cards and rarely-used plastic cards - Some folded up paperwork I'm not using up all of the space. I'd like to still fit a pocket notebook in there, a tiny nail clipper, and maybe a thin flashlight. Pretty comfortable, but it'll take some getting used to to wear it all the time. I intend to modify it by attaching a cut piece of soft Velcro to the hook side of the flap Velcro, rendering said Velcro nonoperational. (Don't want to hear RIIIIIIIIPPPPP every time I have to access my phone or wallet. The clip is sufficient.) Currently not using the 'secret belt loop pouch', or the small front zippered pouch. It'd be nice if it had some outer pen-holder-loops like the M-2. The pens inside the main pouch will slow down getting to my keys, which will be a problem if I'm ever trying to escape a raging werewolf by quickly getting into my car. This will work well for carrying stuff on a belt. I'm glad I got the M-1 instead of another model.

All of my stuff in one sack
Received mine in the mail yesterday and immediately moved my wallet (Maxpedition Spartan), truck/house keys, nail clipper with an old Gerber Shortcut "mini-MacGuyver" muti-tool, SOG 'Dark Energy' light & cell phone to it. So, though my jury is still deliberating, initial take: -- Usual and expected bullet-proof Maxpedition construction. -- Will take a bit of getting used to hanging on my belt. -- No longer a concern with sitting in a vehicle and getting in the way of the seat belt -- Wished Maxpedition had put a full length zipper, i.e., unzipping fully down on both sides of the pouch v.s. 2/3rds of the way. Would make it easier to open the main compartment. (Same complaint I have with the Proteus Versapack where the zipper simply goes across the top of the main compartment.) -- Small zippered pocket on flap is about useless for me. It's just too tight. Update Dec 8: As I'm retired, I don't "wear" it all day long, rather thread my belt thru it before going out. Vehicle seat belt issues -- really a none-problem. Just have to slide the pack to and fro' to get to the seat belt buckle. Not really a problem - at least not enuf to detract from the other +'s of the pack. Used to hanging on my belt -- I still sometimes reach for my wallet in my hip pocket (where it isn't anymore), else comfortable wearing it. I hope Maxpedition reads this: I still would have liked a full length zipper for the main compartment. Small zipper flap pocket -- still don't like it for complaint previously stated. Probably not much Max could do with the design. Guess one could use it for their driver's license or a credit card or two (not wear I keep mine). Main compartment is where I keep my Maxpedition Spartan Wallet. Compartment depth is just enough to accommodate it. Works so no complaint there. Bottom line: for me, have decided it's a keeper.

High Quality, great pack for the beach or sight seeing
This is my report of our SPECIFIC USE of this pack. First up QUALITY. This pouch is very well made. High quality material and double stitching. Velcro is also heavy duty that will last for years. FIVE STARS Second, wearing the pouch. The pouch has a built in loop to run your belt through and is big enough to fit a very wide belt. If you can get the belt though the loops on your pants, you will have no problem running your belt through this pouch. FIVE STARS Specific Use. Purchased this pack to use on a 12 day cruise where we would be doing 6-8 hour sight seeing trips at different ports of call. My specific need was a pack that would hold my panasonic point and shoot camera, an extra battery, extra memory card as well as hand sanitizer and some tissues. This pack allowed me to carry all these items with a little room to spare. FIVE STARS PLEASE NOTE - - - This pack is a great alternative to a ¨Fanny pack¨. I specifically did NOT want a fanny pack while doing the tourist thing in foreign cities for one reason. Thieves call the fanny packs ¨One stop shopping¨. This maxpedition pack doesn't draw any attention and doesn't scream TOURIST. In summary, this is a pack that in my opinion, you NEED to have a very good idea of what you want to use it for before you buy it. If you don't put some serious consideration as to what you want to use it for, you might not be happy with your purchase. In my opinion, it is a bit big for every day wear but GREAT if you are going to an amusement park or sight seeing and want to carry a cell phone, camera, or any number of items but don't want or need a larger fanny pack. One thing is for sure, this pack will last you for many many years, given the high quality of materials used to make it. YOu won't have to worry about stitching coming apart or the material tearing. THIS IS ONE TOUGH POUCH !

Annoyed a bit about the superfluous velcro for the outer pocket....
Annoyed a bit about the superfluous velcro under the outer pocket, which has an airloc buckle for secure closure already, but other than that looks solid. Extra wide belt loop is appreciated, will work for all web belts.

Nice
Great little side pack. Don't forget to order the straps to attach it to the main bag. I have it on the side of a Maxpedition Gearslinger pack. Gives a lot of good storage without making the pack unwieldy. Update: 2 years on and this little item continues strong. highly recommend it for durability as well as functionality.

Another five-star Maxpedition review!
The good: An excellent Maxpedition product; extremely good design, feature-rich, and very high quality. This is a modest belt pouch with several carry options available and provides excellent internal organization. Zippers have been flawless. Sub-compartments are all readily accessible via the quick release clip and velcro fastener. The bad: Expensive. There are cheaper alternatives, especially military surplus products, though these alternatives are less feature-rich and lower quality. The ugly: Hard to write anything that hasn't been covered by countless other reviews and feedback. I haven't yet found a product of comparable quality that can beat Maxpedition, even with the premium price. A top quality product; this is my favorite belt pouch from Maxpedition!

Great, tough little pouch
This is an excellent little pouch. Its construction is incredibly durable; everything is double-stitched and super-solid. I like that you can slip it onto a belt or attach it to a pack via the MOLLE webbing. It is also crazy how much you can stuff this thing, given its accordion-style design. I use it daily and have also slipped it onto the belt of my Proteus hip-pack where it fits very nicely. I might even add a second one to this set-up to make the whole kit symmetrical. I use this as a compact field First-aid Kit and also have been able to add lots of extras in there, including a flashlight and a Swiss Army Knife. I think it would work well to carry most cell phones, a digital camera (point-and-shoot, at least). The only downside I see is that the 1000-D Cordura is so tough, the pouch is somewhat on the stiff side, but I imagine that will mellow somewhat with age.

Does a great job
I have used this poich dozens of times for a variety of situations such as a first aid kit, a fire kit even a tech pouch for my battery bank and cables. It's sturdy yet compact & goes equally on my packs or on my belt to carry. Would gladly recommend this quality product to anyone.
