Works great, wish the lid was made to install and remove easier.
The feeder has worked very reliably. The lid hold down tabs bend over the edge of the bucket, and need to be bent each time the feeder is refilled. Wish there was a better design, possibly like the plastic 5 gallon bucket screw on lids. May try to adapt one to fit this feeder.

Lacks clear explanations
For a while it appeared like the bolt tabs were missing as part of the quick lock adapter. After looking on moltrie’s website i found out it was in the battery compartment. Because of that that it took me 45 to assemble instead of 5. Nowi know. I played with the settings a bit. Havent put it through the tests of the wood but this product came recommended by somebody who uses it every year so i feel pretty confident

Moultrie needs to add a feature for this feeder to work consistently! !
The corn gets clogged in the opening, I even fabricated a funnel from a fan housing that helps the corn find the hole. Still was clogging up the spout. After reviewing pictures of other people problems I solved the problem with a 10-24 screw mounted on the throw plate. No more problem! Take notice anyone going to think they are going to just sit it up and be done not so fast. Until moultrie changes the design it’s not going to work mine was stopped up 10 days

Needed modifications out of the box
Not sure what the designers of this item we’re thinking, but a small hole on the bottom of a bucket doesn’t work too well with feed. A funnel would make this item a 5 star review. As noted in other reviews here, I had to drill a hole, pop in a screw in order to keep the unit dropping feed. After that mod I just have to shake them one a week to ensure the feed is situated and it’s pretty much good to go. I have three - they handle all the animal feeding on my farm. Battery and solar unit are separate. Setup is not that hard but could be better.

We use as autofeeder for pigs while on vacation
This works seemlessly. We utilize it for our pigs while we are out of town. The timer goes off and it scatters whole kernel corn for the pigs to eat. The only downside is that you can only use whole kernel corn. We would like to use pig feed, but at least they are getting something to eat.

Feeder is decent, new feed controller - nightmare
Had previous versions, the updated controller to set the feed parameters has twice as many buttons to do the same functions as before. Terrible set up, pia to change feed times, and amounts now...Should have stuck with the old one, so much better!!!

Revised Review
Update: the manufacturer did contact me and informed me that the feed funnel is adjustable. I figured out how to do this and the product is now working properly. The feeder is easy to assemble. I have a half dozen them as the little cheap moultrie feeders worked great. So I upgraded to these. The problem is the feeder spinner is easily jammed with clean corn. If you need something you can set and forget try something else. I hate to leave a bad review but contacted moultrie and they never responded with a solution.

Does the job but please read before deciding
The product does what is advertised. However what they do not tell you is that you need the 6v battery for it to work n that will cost you 30% of the product price. If you want to avoid replacing batteries every whenever you need the solar option as well, well be ready to dish out another 60% of product price. In my experience I had to pay n additional 100% by the time I had it working efficiently. Now for the product itself. The working of it, is not squirrel or raccoon resistant n as you can see in my picture I had to add a cage to it, to make it so. If not they will eat off of the hopper by putting their hands in there. The container lid needs a tie down so that the intelligence raccoon is unable to remove the lid. Once these things are done it seems to work as expected. BTW, The cage does not impede the distribution much. I am ok with the distribution with the cage. The programming was easy enough. Mine has gone through some heavy rain n is still is working. Yes the lid collects water, be ready to get a bit wet when refilling. Hope this information helps you.

This product is just 2 small for 1 month worth of feed for remote areas
