Kind of cleans up dog hair.
I have a long-haired border collie, and this tool did nothing for my car upholstery. However, this tool does clean the hair out of carpets pretty well. It lasted for a good six months, and the gray scrape part wore almost all the way down due to friction of the carpet. I didn’t really push very hard however, as I said, it’s still wore down the tool.

Furminator of Furniture!!!
For a few reasons, I’d give it a 3.5; but I want so bad to give it a full 5! works great on many fabric types. Wish it would “last” longer than half a couch. Details below: I wish the handle was a little more ergonomic; I have tendinitis is my wrists, and holding this just puts it at an angle that hurts after a bit. But so does typing prolonged times like my job sometimes has me doing. This thing, worth every CENT! It cleaned quite a few different types of fabric; quickly and easily. You know how you go to the dentist and they suck up all the water they rinse you with? Yeah, do that with a vacuum... or don’t use the Pet Hair Magnet right next to an open window at the same time xD it look like my cat and dog exploded into the air! Works AMAZINGLY, but if you have been ignoring cleaning furniture for awhile, you’ll want to buy a few straight away. I only got half of a couch done before it already looked like I had been using it for months! I’ve contacted customer support and hope to hear first thing Monday. But even after it’s “well worn”, it cleans up nicely. We have “knitted” couches (left by previous tenants (hate them)), carpet squares for door rugs (cleaned up SO nicely... almost looks brand new!), and I even used it on my older carry on that was used in our cross-country move, and eventually the cat’s seat when we were holed up in a hotel during hurricane season in the middle of the move...

Ehhh
It was ok. Takes a lot of elbow grease compared to other items. decent for clothes that have a lot of hair but better if paired with a lint roller after the fact. Won’t get those loose single hairs

WOW impressed
Since I have 3 dogs, I feel like I've tried a lot of different products for pet hair removal. So I have to say that I did not go into this experiment with very high hopes, but I more like, well it's only $8 so if doesn't work, and it's got to be better than lifting the vacuum up on the couch, which is the only thing that currently (only marginally) works, and since it's a pain, I rarely do it, and that's why I have a pet hair problem. To be fair, I have a couch fabric (purchased before my latest dog, whose hair sticks to everything) that is not recommended for pet hair, as it's a woven fabric and the hair literally weaves itself into the fabric. The contrast between hair color and couch color are also not optimal. So it arrived and even my daughter (who never cleans anything voluntarily) was having fun cleaning the couch and did a small area. When I had more time, I did the whole couch and got a HUGE pile of hair. I'll tell you, it's also a bit of an arm workout, in a good way. When my daughter came downstairs after I was finished, she commented twice how clean the couch looked, hence the impressed title of the review. A couple of days later, I did the couch again, not as much of an arm workout this time, but much less hair. I will heartily recommended this product. The only improvement I would suggest would be a hole in the handle so it can hang with your cleaning products. I fashioned a hanger from some hair elastics and hung it by the couch so I can use it when I'm watching tv. The yellow blends with my end tables, so extra bonus!

Good if using regularly
I have a white dog with short hair that gets embedded in everything it touches! I use this hair magnet to get hair off my sofa and car seats, and it’s been really good so far. I normally have a seat cover in my car, but didn’t have it one day when the dog got in the backseat. Needless to say the seat is covered in fur, and decided to see how it would weather against that much fur. It did pretty well on my cloth sears. The image shows the top of seat after using the fur remover whereas the bottom of the seat gives a reference of how much fur there was on top. Here are some things to note: This works well on larger areas and doesn’t get in all the corners, but it’s pretty sizeable. This moves hair around so you can lump it together rather than pick it up. Also, do not put too much pressure on microfiber type material because it will look like the fabric is kind of scratched. I would recommend using this for daily fur removal but not when you have a massive pile of it.

Fairly effective, but part of my issue is the texture of the pet fur and the fabric of the couch.
This is fairly effective. It does remove more fur than my Shark Vacuum. Some pet hair seems to dig into the couch even more. I have to "scrape" every direction- Up & Down, Side to side, diagonal up & down, Down & Up..... I typically use this to scrape up fur the vacuum misses and then go back over with the vacuum to remove the fur it pulls out. This gets me further than I was before, though, so I would recommend it. If you have pets that shed, just get slick leather furniture and save yourself the headache. I made a poor choice when ordering my furniture. The fabric feels AH-mazing, but it is a magnet for lint, stray threads from clothing, and the cat hair. My two kitties are mostly white and my couch is chocolate brown (yes, I know, I am a moron). This was a poor combination.

hardly works
I bought this because I wanted something that was kinder on fabric and a bit larger than my metal fur remover. I tried it on my settee, recliner, bedding, curtains. bed throw...it hardly shifted anything. It worked best on plain cotton sheeting, bet everything else was pathetic. I tested it against the remover I usually use that sometimes pulls threads and you can see the difference (see photo). I guess I'll just have to suffer the odd pulled thread, because this tool does not do what it says it does.

Works where the hoover fails
Does the job as described, we use it to de-hair the kitchen chair cushions in the morning after our cat has slept there, although I think the need to drag the rubber across, with that level of friction, will probably wear out the cushion fabric prematurely. Anyway the hoover (Dyson) leaves too many of the hairs behind so we do rely on the pet hair magnet. Does a great job of clearing the hair - I usually collect it all up at one edge of the cushion then hoover it off or brush into a dustpan.

Get magic lint brush instead
I would suggest getting a magic clothes lint brush rather than this. I found it difficult to use on non-flat surfaces like the duvet. Had to stretch out the cover and pull and even then it just collected the fur in a pile and Id have to pick it up in a bundle. Whereas a magic lint brush I would swipe back and forth, pick it all up and then scrub it off the brush into the bin.

Not really successful
it works a little, but not really, must be stroked on the surface in short repeated strokes, too much effort, honestly. No where near as good as the one I was trying to find a replacement for, I wore the old one out with use ( I have a long haired kitty). So I went to Lakeland and got their product that does fabric and sweater pills, pet hair too. Success, sorry.
