Demystifies Electrical Shooting
This is the book for mechanics. It explains the procedures in terms that they use instead of the Text Book Scientific terminology. Easy to follow and broken down into individual steps using the equipment and the results you will get.

Essential even for people with general understanding of electricity
This book came recommended to me as a resource to help me troubleshoot 12 & 24V circuits on a bus conversion motorhome. I was not disappointed. I have some familiarity with basics of electricity (both from school and hobbies) but this book provided practical vehicle troubleshooting techniques and mindset. The author obviously knows what he is talking about and has extensive experience both as a technician and teacher, so the book was clear, concise, and to the point. It was easy to read, almost comic book in style, but not insultingly so. There was some marketing of his other product which was the Load Pro test leads. I was initially turned off by this but after weighing the pros and cons decided to buy that as well. Should have purchased both as a package. For what it's worth, the author apparently is no longer affiliated with his own invention, probably because he is more of a technician and inventor than a salesman and the inevitable controversy that comes from good ideas and success. That's too bad because I would have liked him to receive more of a reward for his work, but hopefully he is making a reasonable living from his contribution to automotive electrical troubleshooting science. Dan Sullivan also offers (or offered) in person training and practice kits, for which this book is the 'textbook'. They are out of my price range so this book got me on the right track and his YouTube & Vimeo videos will have to fill in the rest.

Great resource for anyone that deals with electrical.
Great book ! I am an instructor at a technical college and this book is absolutely wonderful to help explain all things electrical!

Electrical, something every mechanic can use a lil help with!
This book is very thorough and teaches you all about electrical in every aspect. It makes it fun cuz it's like reading a comic book and there's a little jokes in there but the knowledge is vast and easy to absorb. Great book and gives you tips on how to make tools to locate shorts.

it is a big boost for my students and i to get the information over in a comfortable manner and make the practices more fun too
What i have found for years now, is that people who write seem not to be the one s who practice the disciplines and those who practice the disciplines do not have or take the time to write. This author, Mr Dan Sullivan, has done both.What i hoped for was that he would have taken some of the diagrams and information and showed them as they apply to vehicles, even if he demonstrated on older vehicles. Yet with my years of teaching and experience in the refrigeration , air-conditioning and auto air-conditioning fields, it is a big boost for my students and i to get the information over in a comfortable manner and make the practices more fun too.I am also hoping that he is well on the way to the more advanced text book, looking deeper at other things.

Excellent Reference tool for novice and expert alike!
This book is a great tool for anyone who has anything to do with electrical automotive, which in today's world is anyone who works on automotive equipment. I have a background in electronics and troubleshooting going back to my time in the Army as a communications maintainer, all the way through to my work now as an heavy equipment mobile mechanic for a military installation. This book had me hooked from the first page because of its simple, no b.s. layout. Dan gives practical examples and explanations with diagrams all throughout the guide. Not too much time spent on theory other than to explain it clear enough for the reader to grasp it and help them do their job better. If you ever wondered weather or not you can learn to troubleshoot electric problems, or you have been doing it for years, I recommend this book. On a different note, the author is totally responsive too, I emailed him to share a scenario we had just worked through on the job, and I really didn't figure to get a response, Dan responded within the day.

Very, very good resource for both the shade tree mechanic and young apprentice who needs a reference book/guide to get the job done. Mr. Sullivan does a great job of explaining just enough theory to enable folks to "get" the fundamentals and then apply them to the task of troubleshooting electrical issues. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. If you are in the position where you know you don't know enough about automotive electronics and would like to know more this book is a good place to start.

Not really a start to finish guide but still worth the money
Each topic is written in a very digestible manner for people pretty new to electronics. I do feel however the book is more of a companion than end-to-end textbook on this topic, and things are laid out somewhat disjointly. I think the examples on redrawing schematics should have been in a greater quantity, or perhaps that should be another workbook. Very much worth the money for the good explanations on a number of topics. Like any hands on skill, some things will not stick until you try them out and practice, don't put this off or you won't get anywhere, and this is emphasized by the author.

I was not sure when the book came to undo it or send it back as I read the fail book review I will say it has some cartoon drawings I have been a mechanic for May years but automotive electronics have been some thing that has scared me for some years I have been trying to get a book the tells you how to test like battery voltage drop as most don't tell you how to do a voltage drop test and for the load pro it has helped save time with finding shorts

Very good read. Wether it’s a refresher (may even learn something new. I did) or starting into the trade. I’ll definitely be having the apprentices reading this book once I’m done
