Really nice, while it lasted.....
We really like the options of this one. We had a set and one section died out after a couple years which was disappointing. We gave the older, still usable section to my son in college and we repurchased. Hoping it lasts a little longer but we decided to go again with it because of the light options - fun at holidays - and ease of the remote. We did not use the adhesive that came with it. We have it on top of a wood wall unit and felt that painter's tape would be a better choice. I took off one star as I think it should have lasted longer and a couple of years.

Great if you can endure initial setup
Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is initial setup with wifi/ home assistant is a miserable pain. I connected mine to Siri/ HomeKit and it was god awful. Once I got past that it’s been great. Very responsive, good colors and patterns. Super bright and the glue is strong. I installed mine onto some aluminum channels and they’ve held super strong since day one. Adding extra strips is easy enough aka plug and play but again, the set up to home assistant needs serious work.

Great, when not defective.
These are the best led strips I’ve come across in terms of brightness, colors, and the apps functionality and design. I love them so far, my only issue is that I bought multiple lights and LIFX bulbs to light my entire home and about 1/3 or more of them just did not work, and this was across the entire range of products, defective strips, controllers and bulbs. But when it works it’s great.

Great for bias lighting
These are great, needed an extension to mine and it's easy to install and looks nice behind a TV.

UPDATE: Last week (10/30/2022) there was a firmware update for the LIFX Lightstrip. I am happy to say that after installing this update, and several days of use, the lightstrip is working flawlessly. It is remaining fully connected at all times. It is responsive not just in the app, but also through HomeKit and Alexa. As this is working superbly, I have changed my rating from 2 stars to 5. I recently got this light strip to use as bias lighting in my home office. Set up was easy, and they connected well with both HomeKit and Alexa. After a couple of days, they stopped staying connected to my wifi. They are in the same room as the router. In order to use the lights, I need to reset them to reconnect them every single time I want to turn them on or off. I was very disappointed considering the price point and the quality of the strip itself. The lights are bright, and the colors are vibrant. Since I have this installed already, I may get a smart plug just to turn it on and off since the plug is in an odd place. Overall, mostly disappointed with what could be a great device.

No more the 11 to one controller.
I installed strips around my king size bed, the light strips are very good however any more than 11 strips to one controller then the 12th strip will not work. After going back and forth with customer service, I did several troubleshooting experiments to finally figure out this was the case. I suggest that you use jumper extensions for going around corners or use the looping method, although I was about 2 feet short of my desired result, the lighting effect was still good.

Device starting working correctly. I am guessing due to a firmware update. Now I am very happy with it. ===== Original, no longer valid ===== The device frequently "crashes" and must be power cycled, sometimes several times a day. This is very inconvenient. This is despite having disabled WMM and having set up a 2.4GHz-only SSID, as recommended in forums for connectivity issues. (This did eliminate issues with regular LiFX bulbs, but the strip continues to behave differently.) I have some fifteen LiFX devices, but this strip, while beautiful, is simply too problematic.

Beautiful lights... poor connection UPDATE 11/7/2022
Update 11/7/22 An update to my original review taking off a star for poor connectivity. A recent firmware update released for my strips 2.9 (for older chipsets)/3.9 with patch notes specifically reporting improved connectivity seem to be working. Where it normal for the lights to drop the connection daily and require a reset, they have not disconnected once since the update. Be warned though, a small percentage of people reported the update bricking their lights. However, I have updated 4 so far with no issues. Like others have stated, the lights are very bright and gorgeous.... when they work. The strips suffer from an unusual amount of disconnections which can be resolved by unplugging them and plugging them back in. But quite annoying for something this price when I never suffered this with cheaper brands.

Fun!
Lights work well. We put it behind our bed, but haven’t tried to stick them to fabric. We’re trying to sort out another hack there for stick. App is not sure intuitive, but you can do some cool things! We made a sunrise and it helps 100000% with waking up in dark winter mornings. I like!

Its working with old generation
I was afraid cause when i plugged it, the extend didnt work, so i let them plug together, and unplugged the outlet 8 times, not too fast not too slow. And it worked. After you go to your wifi on your phone, add the new lifx, rename it and thats it!
