Box has potential

Hello, this is a cute bento box made from Bamboo. However, it's too simplistic, at least could have kept a facility to keep bamboo silverware, or chopsticks. The utility is also limited - should not put too much hot food, cannot microwave, should handwash. For real utility, it's not recommended, let's wait to see future versions.

Bento box

I got the Lenox Butterfly Meadow Bamboo Bento Box, 1.00. This is a simple bento box with one removable divider and an elastomer strap to hold it together. I like that the bento box is made out of bamboo, which is more sustainable than many materials. This Butterfly Meadow does have a matte finish and doesn't quite blend with other pieces from the collection, but it is still the familiar motif. I think the finish is pretty but agree that it scratches easily. Given that a bento box is for carrying around, I doubt this piece will look beautiful for a long time. The divider is okay. It stays in place best if the bento box is full. I've had it shake loose a few times. I like this bento box and think it looks classier than my lunch kit for some situations, but I do mostly like it for looks. There are basic bento boxes that are more practical.

Uses a large rubber band

I’m a big fan of the Lenox Butterfly Meadow series for their plates, which are absolutely beautiful. So I figured I’d try this bento box. The design is also nice on this box (although a bit faded looking) and the box has a solid feel. The material feels like a cross between bamboo and plastic (it’s smooth- not like a porous wood). It would be better if it had a latch instead of a rubber band though. I think there’s a high chance I’m going to lose the rubber band because someone in the house may easily mistake it for a regular rubber band instead of a kitchen accessory.

Beautiful piece

This is made to be a Bento box to carry food. It says it is dishwasher safe. It does have a matte finish-so it scuffs easily. I have some other Lenox pieces that match this one. i simply love the nature motifs—the butterfly, the bee, the flowers. I think I will just use it to keep special momentos safe. It could certainly be used for a bento box as intended but it will scuff and ding so you need to be okay with that. I am not sure that I am.

Nice bento box with one issue

These are beautiful and it matches my other Lenox items. It doesn’t have the baby blue color but the flowers and butterflies are the same. My one gripe is the rim seems to have some cracking to it. I don’t know if this is a big deal but it does seem to be compromised. The rubber band is snug and actually keeps this box in tact. Really nice! Divider is meh but it works alright when good is packed in. Texture is soft on the outside. Very good for my traveling girlfriend.

Beautiful! But not microwave-safe

This is just lovely! It really brings up the elegance of packing a lunch. However I really don't like that it's not microwave-safe. That really only allows me to use this for cold lunches, which seriously limits the versatility and usefulness of this. Given that it's just made out of plastic, I feel that they should have made the effort to use a kind of plastic that could be put in the microwave. The painting and decor is really pretty, and the rubber band used to hold it together is very secure. It's a gorgeous bento lunch box for cold lunches, and could make a great gift as well, but it really should be microwave-safe.

Matte finish scuffs easily but definitely serves its purpose

This is a lovely, practical bento box with plenty of space, durable construction, a strong elastomer carry strap to hold it shut, and a divider which holds its position so that your food doesn’t touch. (Hush. There’s nothing wrong with keeping your food from touching.) Unfortunately, like so much soft-touch and matte covering, the finish attracts fingerprints and scuffs very easily. You may see the elegant watercolor art of butterflies, bees, dragonflies and flowers and think this would be borderline heirloom quality, but no. This is a utilitarian box meant to be used, and the second you touch it, you’ll know. Enjoy the bento box for what it is: a place to keep your lunch.

NOT A REAL LENOX

I have a collection of Lenox butterfly meadow but this one is the most different among them all. Lenox butterfly meadow collection is usually shiny and really good quality. This one looks cheap, not shiny, and looks like paper. The rubber seal of the lid also looks cheap, so thin that’s even moving.
