Wait for a sale
I absolutely LOVE this set- but I got it on sale for $13. I do not think the set is worth $40 at all. It’s super cute and love that it can be folded with pieces stored inside, but many of the pieces are just cardboard. The stethoscope doesn’t come with the specific battery it calls for, so we’ve never even checked out if it even works because I can’t remember to pick up the specific batteries. The set hasn’t held up too well with my typically (not overly rough) almost 3yr old. He’s ripped the x Ray pieces, but still loves to play with the set anyway. Definitely recommend, but try to get it on sale!

I could see this being a good choice for one child to use at home but ...
I bought this as part of a vet/animal hospital setup for my classroom. For the price, I guess I was expecting a bit more and a lot of the "extras" - x rays, forms, signs, food - are paper or cardboard and cheaply made. I could see this being a good choice for one child to use at home but it wasn't a good fit for the classroom. As I was gathering materials, the wheels starting turning and I ended up turning a our puppet theater into the "reception desk" with a keyboard, notepads, clipboards, vet forms I found for free online, and using our shelves, play kitchen, baby care items, blankets, and furniture we already had to create different areas like a waiting room, recovery area, grooming area (in the kitchen sink!), exam table (kitchen stove covered with a blanket), x-ray room, etc. It's my fault for not thinking it through a bit more before purchasing and while we did use the tools in this kit along with the ones we already have so that several children could play at once, the rest didn't get much use at all. If your child already has a doctor kit and some stuffed animals, I think it would about really easy to make something more engaging and realistic for pretty cheap by getting real bandages and other first aid items at the dollar store and using cardboard boxes and other things you have at home.

Loved by my daughter AND me because it packs away so easily
I bought this with a little lab coat and vet name tag and my daughter absolutely loves it. The little X-rays and the little dog cone and the dog is adorable. The tools are cute. What I love best is that it folds up nearly flat so that it's easy to take somewhere with her little doctor kit. The bottles and medicines are flat and store in little flaps on the back. The fact that it opens up creates a feeling of being in the doctor's office. It's super cute, extremely well made.

The Vet is in the house!
My daughter is a huge animal lover, so we purchased this set for her birthday. It is a cute set. It has everything that an aspiring vet needs. The dog that it comes with is not so cute, it's plastic, but your child can use just about any stuffed animal she has. Webkinz and beanie babies are just the right size. My daughter uses ALL her stuffed animals for this set. They all line up for their check ups! While I thought this set would be a huge hit for my animal loving girl, she doesn't play with it very often anymore. When she first received it, she did, but as the days go on she has lost interest. When she does play vet now, she often will just bring out her small Dr. kit and not this set. As a Mom, I love this set because it's all contained and it's super cute. The price was great here at Amazon. I only paid $19.99 at Amazon. In stores it sells for much, much more.

I always wanted to be a vet, this lets me pretend to be one and not have to watch animals suffer in real life.
Ok, the reality here is my daughter thats 6 has been talking about wanting to be a vet, so I figured this would be a good Christmas gift. She loves it, so it was a good buy. She likes when I pretend like I'm a dog owner and bring in the little plastic puppy and tell her what kind of problems he's having. "umm yes, my dog accidentally ate 4 hamburgers and his tummy hurts" "Well, ok. Your dog weighs 1 million, trillion pounds. He needs to wear this neck cone and take this medicine for a week" One week later... "Hello, my puppy is chasing his tail around all the time and has almost eaten it off" "He needs to wear this bandage for a week, and i've given him 10 flu shots"

A great toy for any animal lover.
My "future vet" daughter loves this little toy! Comes with lots of little extras to add to the fun. The back board is made from strong material in strong cloth. Plastic dog is made from thick hard plastic and is great quality. "Treats" are made from very thick cardboard that you have to punch out the first time you use it. All doctor toys are good quality and won't fall apart easily. "X-Ray" is cute and works by placing card behind a black and white stripped screen allowing the image to show through. The clear plastic pockets are hard to get some of the signs into, and my daughter (6) tore one of then, but it is still usable. Everything except dog packs into a pouch that attaches to the back of the folded up board for easy storage.

Animal hospital for kids who have pets
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my godchild who will turn 4 in March. She is very interested in animals and has already expressed a desire to be a vet. Admittedly I am a little biased but I think she is a very intelligent child and she loves the animal hospital. She had to get every piece out and examine it immediately upon opening it. I think this would be a very good experience for any child who is interested in animals. It allows them to see some of the instuments that a vet would use and they can set up their own little office. This is not to be used to treat real, live animals though. There are lots of pieces in the set so if you have a child who gets frustrated easily or has trouble keeping track of lots of pieces, this probably would not be a good selection for them.

Lovely fun set
My daughter was turning 9 and had lots of clothes and handbags for gifts not toys. She is always telling me she wants to be a vet and I wasn’t sure if she was getting too old for toys like this. Although she was thrilled with her Collection of handbags and grown up girl things she absolutely loved this set. We also have the school and post office they are my favourites and still get played with after having them for a good number of years now

Broke stethoscope
The stethoscope does not work. There is a place for batteries but no connections for the batteries to work.

Lovely vets set
My son (3) really likes this set, he plays with it most days and we have a range of toys come to visit the vets to be made better. It is great for role play and the accessories that come with it are good. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the X-rays but overall I would recommend the toy as I think it has good play value. Very pleased.

A nice portable kit - but let down on price.
This is a nice play set based on a pet hospital. I like the fact that it comes as a fold away pack, so it is easy to store. However this makes it quite thin, so not all the accessories fit in the little pockets. It comes with a soft toy puppy, some equipment such as stethoscope, head collar, thermometer, bone etc. The stethoscope seems to have some added functionality (if you add your own batteries), but we couldn't get it to make a sound and with no instructions, it was impossible to work out what we were doing wrong. The little x-ray screen works well and my daughter liked putting in the x-ray pictures and seeing them appear on the screen. Unfortunately I think this toy is really let down on the price point - it is just too expensive for what it is, and I feel other kits out there would provide more hours of entertainment.
