Addition and Subitizing
Bought these for addition and subitizing practice since we are out of school. For addition practice, we write the outside number first, a plus sign, and then the inside number. Kiddo has to finish the equation. The subitizing comes with practice, but the more she does it, the better she should get at recognizing the standard patterns as numbers. I bought the jumbo so that our aging parent eyes don't have to bust out the magnifying glass to see the inside die. I'm considering adding some dots to the outside of these so that we can do subtraction without risking an abrupt introduction to negative numbers.

Kids love them
I put these out for little children (0-5) to play with while I'm talking to parents in a counseling program. All ages love these things. They are bright and Make a pleasant rattle sound and are stackable. Some kids like to sort them by color etc. A "difficult" child hurled them to the floor and they did not crack . They seem to be made out of cheap acrylic but have stood the test of throwing so must be ok. The kids like counting the dots on the outside die but it can be a little hard to see the smaller die inside unless you look from the bottom. I can imagine you could makeup some fun games using these for elementary age children. They fit nicely in the little cookie jar holder but the lid snaps on/ doesn't twist so young kids won't be able to open it without help.

Breaks easily on wood floors
My not quite 2 yo loved his older siblings dice and always tried getting it and putting in his mouth. Thought this would be great for him to have his own dice. It was excellent for about 20 minutes but if dropped on a hard floor, the panel that is glued comes off, exposing the inside dice. Soooo we ended up throwing them away. Wouldn't be as much of a concern if you had carpeted flooring.

These are perfect for math stations, children love to use them. The size is perfect, they are not too big or small.

Smaller die is too big- doesn't roll inside of the bigger die.
These dice are great to have in a collection... But I wouldn't roll them in any type of game. I bought them for D&D, because my weapon deals 2D6 damage. But the smaller dice is still too big and doesn't roll inside of the bigger/clear one. So basically, you'll get the same number combination on the dice every time. Ex: If the bigger die rolls a 5, and the smaller inside one rolls a 3, it will always be paired that way every time you roll a 5 on the bigger die. I've shaken it a lot and tried getting the inside die to roll to a different combination, but it just won't.

My students and LOVE these dice!
I am a Math Academic Interventionist in an elementary school. I work with students for math in every grade from kinder through fifth and I have over 20 years of classroom teaching experience. My students and I love these dice! I use them in every grade because they are so versatile and fun.

Fun way to teach multiplication and addition for my second grader
We are working on multiplication with our daughter and these were great. She really got excited and is loving them. She says it's funner than just using two regular dice. Definitely recommend.

Definitely worth buying
These are awesome for my 6th grade math classes. Perfect for games with ratios, fractions, or proportions. They are just noisy, which combined with 6th graders having fun isn’t always perfect for me. I would definitely recommend them though!

To help our kids with math
Like a few reviewers on here we also noticed the #s don't always match up when rolled. We purchased these to improve our kids counting/math skills in a fun way and so far it's going well. They are only 3 so the attention span is quite limited but we can see where it will be beneficial as they get older.

Another wonderful product from Learning Resources!
These are great dice for what I felt was a pretty reasonable price! A little over an inch tall and perfect for small hands. I agree with another reviewers comment that the die inside is a bit too big causing them to come up as the same combination every roll. I find that you need to shake it up really well first and then roll it for a better outcome. Super happy with my purchase and will definitely purchase again when it's time to make birthday goody bags and for Halloween!

You get dice inside the dice. Easy to see and count.
I liked that the dice were large enough to contain a dice inside of the larger dice. Makes it easier to throw and count. The colours are vibrant and you can’t loose the dice.
