Second time should be a charm--the first one I got would not come on after replacing the batteries. It may take awhile to initially adjust the laser since the TCP738 has a very short barrel and my LaserLyte laser does not fit into the barrel all the way. I see possible some long range time in the future fine tuning this laser. So far an initial adjustment without firing the weapon appears to be not that far off----so far I see no issues with wind-age or elevation adjustments (vertical).Shines good in the dark--after-all aren't most lasers designed for darkness and other sights like irons or scopes for daytime use? Stay tuned for updates. It's been two years since I purchased this laser device and it quit working about 2 weeks ago so I contacted CUSTOMER SERVICE at Laser Lite and head manager gave me a return number to send back for repairs or replacement. They sent me a new unit and after firing about 100 rds. Downrange it's working perfect. This company has an excellent return warranty and the mgrs. are willing to bend over backwards to satisfy customers!!

Even better than anticipated!

When I bought this I wondered how it could fit both the TCP and Slim models, was surprised to see it actually has two housings to choose from. You can put the actual laser unit into whichever housing fits your Taurus. I installed this on my .40 S&W Taurus Slim in less than five minutes and I'm very pleased with the results. When I ordered it, I spaced the fact that it not only has on-off, it also has a pulse setting. You push the button to turn the laser on, then push again and hold for five seconds toe change the mode from a steady beam to a pulse. Changing back is the same process. Make sure during installation to tighten the three housing screws in sort of an incremental rotation, snug one then the next and so on. That helps the two housing halves fit together tightly and blend right into the trigger guard. I have a soft Blackhawk pocket holster for this gun and there are no issues with the slight added bulk of the laser... and I do mean slight. A very nice addition for a carry gun and especially for those of us with old eyes. Money well spent.

I like the fit of it

I will be taking this to the range for sight in and stability during use later today. I like the fit of it, just do not like that I need a new holster to accommodate it now. That is a minor thing that is easily remedied. One thing I do not like is the small Allen screws and wrenches for horizontal and elevation adjustments. They are very small and can be difficult to use. Update. I was getting upset sighting this thing in, but realized I had the target too close to allow effective changes in the laser. I sighted in at 10 and 15 yards. Any closer you shouldnt need a laser. It holds its set well after firing. I havent had to readjust and have put a few hundred rounds through it since.

Worked when I took it out of box, but then didn't when I switched the module to the other housing. Cleaned the contacts with a pencil eraser and then worked fine. Don't try to sight in at less than 20-25 feet or the up/down adjustment screw will fall out. It fit my wife's Taurus Slim perfectly and looked real good. However........ failed during first magazine of 9mm. I contacted the manufacturer and they were really good about trying to find the problem. After a little trouble shooting the CS lady sent me a new module with a prepaid envelope to send the failed one back. Unfortunately, I have not got back to the range and test the new module yet.

Third Time Is Charm

Finally, this is a laser system that works well for the TCP. The fit is ideal and the site is very visible, even on sunny days. LaserLyte has designed a great product. Issues: I had to re-order this item twice. The first unit was missing the left side button. I contacted both LaserLyte and Amazon, both responded promptly to address the issue. Amazon offered to replace the unit. When I got the second unit, it was completely inoperable. Amazon again shipped another unit. The third time was a charm. Installed with ease, has all required parts, and works right out of the box. Fits like a glove. I'm happy. We'll see how it fares after a 100 rounds or so at the range.

Great customer service, buy with confidence

Unit worked fine, as it's just a laser sight. However the unit would turn itself off after firing each round, and eventually stopped working after 15 rounds. Contracted customer support and they sent a replacement unit within a week. I'm up and running again and pretty happy about the price and quality of this unit. One side note is that the laser cannot point higher at the 7yard range, but I suppose if you're that close it's not a big deal. Laser can sight for 15 to 25 yards, and can point a lot farther down for no reason. I suppose there is a design issue that could be addressed.

Great add on

Excellent fit for my PT738. Easy to install. While adjusting site, windage screw fell out and was impossible to find. Called LaserLyte and they promptly sent replacement for no charge. Also, spare set of batteries included in packaging. After 12 months, I found it necessary to find replacement batteries. This has been a problem, as many batteries are not strong enough to light the laser and the size of battery is not one that can be found easily

fits my pistol nicely, but laser not very strong and batteries run down quickly.
