Sturdy & Attractive, Versatile This expands the functionality of my Kraus sink, by adding space to drain additional washed items, or using as a shallow colander for fruits and vegetables. It can be easily placed on either side of the sink, or out of sight, stowed in the cabinet below. Excess water is easily wiped up with a dish towel. The corner pieces raise it up a bit, protecting the granite countertop.

Bought this to go with our new Kraus sink. I rarely post reviews, but had to about this one because it has turned out to great unanticipated uses. 1) Colander …. I was initially worried it would be too shallow, but that is a benefit, allows you spread out and spray wash items, and leaves them easily accessible for retrieval to cut on adjacent board. With a deep Kraus sink, reaching down to standard colander at the base slows you down. 2) Drying rack … a persistent challenge is to find a place to stably dry nice wine glasses, and this is it. Rock solid and flat surface gives you safe place for a drip dry, that towels and most drying racks don't. It is also a great place to put cooking knives for a quick drip dry as well. Don't balk at the slightly high price, this is a great great complement to a Kraus sink (which is a deal as well).

works great with Kraus 32" sink

I use this colander as a dish drainer most of the time, but it does work well to hold veges while washing. It actually makes my very large Kraus 32" sink look great by breaking it up a bit. I keep this colander on the sink to the side all the time, and still have plenty of room to use the sink to wash dishes and etc. The only slight disappointment with this colander was that it arrived with a bit of discoloration on one of the four black corners. I decided to keep it rather than going through the trouble and expense of sending it back, thinking I'd probably end up marking up the corners myself after a while any way. I don't even notice it anymore.

Looks great, functions great!

This is a very nice colander. Very high quality. It's not super deep but I didn't expect that or need that. It's great for rinsing fruits and veggies or drying a few dishes over the sink. The only issue is that the corners are hard plastic so it does tend to slide around the sink a bit but I can live with that for the convenience of having something so nice I don't have to put it away.

Not as functional as I had hoped.

I wanted a giant sink so I bought the Kraus KHU100-32 32 inch Undermount Single Bowl 16 gauge Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink for our kitchen remodel. Divided sinks just don't work for me. But I liked the idea of some second/split sink functionality so I tried this accessory. I used it a few times to keep sharp knives or silverware out of the sink and to rinse some summer produce. Unfortunately after 1 month of using it, it was relegated to a spot under the sink and hasn't been used since. I wanted to love it, but it just wasn't very functional. Pros: - It fits the 32" sink perfectly. - It keeps smaller or delicate items from slipping through the grates of the Kraus sink. - It looks nice. Cons: - It's too shallow to be used effectively as a strainer for most produce. And the spray of water when trying to rinse items is annoying. If it was 4" deeper my review might be very different. - Even thought it fits well, water still gets under the rim and you have to move it to clean/dry accordingly....and often. - It's not an expensive accessory but for the limited functionality, it simply wasn't a good value.

Jury is still out....

I recommend functioning with your sink first for a while and see what you really need. I'm not in love with the stainless steal sink it goes with due to spotting and the single basin really has no room for dryng. Having this sit on the sink does allow you to have a small section to dry glasses and small utensils and allows for shallow rinsing without splashing (if you are careful)....BUT it looks funny on the sink, is too shallow for a low of rinsing and with the single basin you still need somewhere else to put dishes to dry unless someone is standing next to you to dry them.

The hat trick in Kraus kitchen sink accessories

This is well made and the finishing touch to my kitchen remodel. The New Kraus sink & faucet begged to have this colander as a companion. In fact I think they might have refused to be installed in the new kitchen had I not gotten the amazing strainer well before hand. All 3 items sat patiently in the corner, (in their boxes) becoming best of friends before the contractor arrived. Once out of the box and free to frolic under the water, begging to have baby carrots rinse in its hold. I've never seen a kitchen accessory so happy, and happy to serve. It's a must have in the Kraus kitchen sink hat trick.

Handy to have

Gadgets are plentiful but this one is pretty handy. Would be nice if it came with a solid insert so you could do things like thaw meat and soak things.

Great addition to a Kraus sink.

This is a great addition to the Kraus sink we bought. We use it to keep the washcloth and dish brushes we use out of the sink and off our new granite countertops.
