Did the trick

This kit and 30 minutes in the ultrasonic cleaner had the engine running like new. A super easy repair. I’d recommend to have 2 of these on your shelf.

A rip off, pure and simple.

At $26.55 this B&S/Nikko carb rebuild kit, while at the lower end of the price range for tis kit, is still stupid expensive for what you get and yet doesn’t include two critical parts, IMHO, that should be included in the kit. To top it off the label says “Made in China”. How do you say “bend over”? The kit lacks two critical components you should replace when you rebuild the carb; the main jet and the tension spring which holds the major plastic casting and float assembly tight against the thin sealing gasket and cast metal body of the carb. Unlike most all-metal carbs, rather than a threaded fit main jet, this half-plastic Nikko carb has a press-fit main jet that seals itself with a small rubber gasket integral to the jet. When the rubber gasket in the jet hardens it leaks fuel and the engine will run excessively rich. Also, over time, the holding spring will begin to weaken and lose optimal tension. This tension is required to maintain an effective seal between the large plastic jet and float assembly and the metal body of the carb. After spending in the neighborhood of $30 for this lame rebuild kit you can still have an engine that won’t run right if the holding spring has sacked or the main jet gasket is leaking ...or both. The spring and main jet, purchased through Amazon, cost $12.05 and $15.53 (!!!!!!!) respectively. Yeah. $54.13 for a proper rebuild kit on a chipper engine. At that price point you’re halfway to buying a new Nikko carb. For what I paid for this rebuild kit plus the two other needed parts I could’ve purchased two very complete OEM rebuild kits for the carb on my motorcycle. The kit fixed the rich running condition on my chipper and the engine is once again running fine. Given the poor deesign of this carb and the harsh environment it operates under I’m not expecting great longevity from the rebuild. As for the photos, the third photo shows the spring and main jet in their parts bags; the part numbers are on the bags. The third photo also shows the large plastic assembly that supports the float and into which is press-fit the main jet. The fourth photo shows the main jet and tension spring and in the background is the plastic casting that sits inside the float bowl. The tension spring is what seals the plastic casting to the thin round gasket and metal body of the carb.

If you're somewhat handy

If you can do simple mechanical tasks, this was a basic carburetor rebuild. Got my generator up and running easy.

Works But Didn't Solve My Problem

Purchased this overhaul kit to fix my Briggs and Stratton carburetor, which was not maintaining RPM properly on my Troybilt Chipper/Shredder. Although I am not a professional, I have a basic understanding of carburetors and was able to easily replace the parts from this overhaul kit. Unfortunately, the overhaul kit did not solve the problem as I had the same issue. I ended up replacing the entire carburetor (purchased through Amazon) and the engine ran perfectly after that. Recommend this overhaul kit, but beware that it may not fix all carburetor problems.

THE Rebuild Kit for my Briggs & Stratton Generator

Great value. All the parts were there, and a perfect fit. Note: There is a very thorough video out there regarding installation. Just search on the kit number and include Briggs & Stratton generator. Make sure you have a full can of carb cleaner and spray the heck out of all the ports, especially the tiny holes in the center fuel suction tube. My first time to service a small engine carb. I saved a bit over $100 and the generator started on the FIRST pull!

Repair

This kit is very high priced. Nikki has you by the back side and they no it. The stock meter valve has a little rubber tip on it that feel apart and the weird shapped gasket streached out after spraying the carb with cleaner. With that being siid this kit fit nicely and allowed me to rebuild the carb. I ordered parts 2 week ago from a local shop and still haven't recieved them but this kit ordered on Amazon came in 2 days and I am back in bussiness with a working motor.

right kit for the money

bought this kit to rebuild the carburetor on my generator kit had all the right parts had no issues with the overhaul after rebuild generator started no issues no more lean running.

Great little B&S Carb rebuild kit

great rebuild kit for the B& S. carburetors that this packet supports. All items fit correctly and do not require any modification. This kit does not include a float. If it did the cost would be higher and from looking at the carburetor it is not likely that the float will be required on a regular basis. most parts that will wear or would generally require replacement are there.
