Worked!

Worried something was wrong with my new pizza oven after trying other quick connects that didnt work. This one hooked on tight and it fired up. The shut off is another safety feature.

Fitting functions as designed, however there are some safety issues with the design.

I bought this to add a quick disconnect fitting to my 2008 Forest River Surveyor SV-291. The provision for the exterior LP connection was present and plugged from the factory. After removing the plug I needed a 3/8 Male Flare to 1/4 MPT union found at Home Depot for about 2.50 to mate this to the LP system on the RV. I used yellow high density gas pipe tape to mate the valve to the tube union. It does work great, however, I have two major concerns with the design. 1. This is designed to mount under the RV to give you the ability to plug in an LP extension hose to your gas grill. It's under the RV, there should be a rubber cap to prevent debris from entering the Quick disconnect port. Based on some other reviewers I thought the cap came with the valve. It does not. I'm trying to find one to install. Without a cap, the ball bearings that capture the Quick connect fitting will get stuck, causing leaks, or outright failing to engage the Quick disconnect fitting. 2. The valve design is smart, not allowing you to disconnect the fitting without turning off the gas source. Great. However, it doesn't stop you from turning the gas on without having a fitting connected. At the very least it should require slightly more force to open the valve as it's very easy to move it from off/on. A plastic bag on the highway could open this valve if it caught on the handle while the RV is in motion.

Easy to install and use!

So easy to install I taught my child how to do fittings with this quick connect. The value for the money is outstanding and I decided to convert other items to these fittings. Came in handy last week when we lost power for 3 days. The ease of use make it more than worthwhile!

Solves a really big problem

I left my propane camp stove outside of my RV, and discovered that some critters chewed a hole in the rubber hose, I don't know why, it can't taste that good. Using this device plus another fitting from my local home center I was able to set up the camp stove with all metal (when not in use), and the convenient quick disconnect allows me to put the rubber hoses away quickly without a wrench. Remember, these fitting are ONLY for use with low pressure (.5 PSI) propane lines, like the accessory outlets on a newer RV, NEVER connect them directly to a propane tank.

Great quick connect adapter

Great quick connect adapter. My RV was plumbed previously but I couldn't for the life of my, find a male fitting that would connect to it. Even the quick connects at the local Home Depot wouldn't fit properly. This thing fits together like it should, and with only a flare fitting adapter for the LP line on the RV, mounted right up! Plumbed to a 5ft extension hose and a throwaway cylinder adapter and my Road Trip grill is good to go!! Way better than working with the green bottles all the time.

It works well, but the place I had to install it was problematic ... there is no way good way (at least I couldn't see one) to secure it so if accidentally pulling the hose won't cause a problem. But, it works well and the biggie, doesn't leak.

Low-Pressure only

Nothing wrong with the product. I didn't realize that this was for low-pressure, not high-pressure. Didn't work for my intended use but was able to put it to an alternative use. I like that, in the 'On' position, the handle locks the sliding collar so that you cannot disengage the male plug. Neat feature!

Well made but check your fittings

This valve is well made and fits together with tight tolerances. Pay careful attention to the fittings you will need to connect to your appliance. In my case, it was a Mobicool 3 way cooler. The propane hose connection on it uses a captured ferrule-like ball and socket type of connection. It was not familiar to any of the retailers I asked about it and they were not able to match it. Fortunately, a standard pipe thread coupler worked, with propane rated sealing tape to make it gas tight.

Nice Product

Somehow our original fitting got damaged that feeds the outdoor line on our 5th wheel rendering it useless. This fitting was the exact same and a simple swap out. Our son has his gas ticket and did the swap but its simple to do and I'm sure a DIY could handle it.
