No More Sharpening Drudgery

With old blade it never failed to need sharpening in the middle of a task. With Powersharp sharpening takes about 3 seconds and I'm back to work. Will never go back to traditional. Would have given 5 stars but sharpening stone broke on first use and company did not respond to my complaint.

More cutting less sharpening

Like a bunch of folks, I spent more time sharpening chains that using saw. Bought the starter kit (Bar, Chain& sharpener) and have loved it. Actually, bought a replacement chain and remembered to write this review. The tooth design is different than regular chains, hence the type of sharpener provided. I can't imagine how the system doesn't work. Its a bar, a chain and a sharpening stone. Perhaps folks try to buy a chain without the bar? Since installing the system, I have done lots more easier productive effective cutting, than with any other chain. I would say just lightly lightly use the sharpener. I am a HAPPY REPEAT customer who recommends the product for folks who need to use a saw not practice sharpening chains.

Haven’t used it yet! Pissed!

I haven’t used it yet, because I bought the sharpener first. And then buying the sharpener first I later found out now I need a chain and a bar which really perturbed me. I did not know that if you buy the sharpener you have to have the proper bar and chain that goes with the sharpener , you can’t just buy a sharpener just to sharpen the chain it don’t work that way. That’s what makes me mad about this company who fails to tell you that. It just cost you more money! And that is their point.

Fast and Easy to use!!!

I bought this for my Stihl MS171 earlier this year. I loved it so much that I bought everyone in my family that has the same saw one for Christmas, whether I normally buy them Christmas presents or not. The only downfall for this product is that I wish they made one for the larger Stihl chainsaws. I have the MS271 with 18" bar and MS311 with 20" bar, but I prefer to do most of the work when possible with my little 16" because it is so much easier to sharper the blade when I accidently hit dirt or a rock.

This is a 16 inch bar, not 14 inch

Description is in error. This bar is 16 inches (41cm), as can be seen if you zoom in on the product picture. This my second PowerSharp kit. I was quite satisfied with the old one, but now I have a new Stihl which requires a different bar. Reviews and my personal experience say these chains will not cut quite as well as the Stihl brand chains, but close enough that the convenience of on-saw resharpening outweighs the difference.

Works Perfectly!

This bar and chain work perfectly! I spent yesterday cutting up live oak logs from fallen during Tropical Storm Eta and had no issues. Sharpened chain 3 times total (live oak is rough on ANY chain). For some of the folks having issues with "chain coming off", simply adjust your tensioner properly and you'll be just fine. Chains gotta be tight, but not to tight. Great Product!

chain works great. it came shipped to me in an opened ...

The media could not be loaded. chain works great. it came shipped to me in an opened package and is missing the sharpening stone. i dont see how its fair to me that i have to pay to ship the whole kit back and wait for another one. i also bought a replacement chain and stone the same time i bought this powersharp kit. I bought it for a stihl MS 180 and tried it on a ms250 with no luck this chain will NOT fit STIHL MS250 the chain drive link spacing is off. After all that has been said. The powersharp kit is a good chain and works extremely well. It dosn't take much to sharpen, very light pressure for a second and it brings the edge back to sharp. any heavier pressure and longer that 1 or 2 seconds you are just wasting the blade 1st picture is new stihl chain and new powersharp chain drive link spacing on ms250 video is powersharp chain skipping into sprocket on ms250.

J'ai ri lorsque j'ai lu un commentaire disant que cette chaîne ne faut pas 16 pouces mais bien 15 pouces... Et bien, désolé de n'avoir pas pris ça au sérieux, car cette chaîne n'a véritablement pas 16 pouces. Elle est si courte qu'elle est difficile à enfiler sur la "bar" et le trou d'ajustement de vis de de chaîne n'est pas à la bonne place. Décevant...

Great for people who can't sharpen a chainsaw

I have purchased several of these and worn several out. I love that i can sharpen the chain in seconds rather than having to take the chain home in shame, put it on the vice and use all the files to get a poor sharpen. You can later get just a chain and sharpening stone replacement and get some time out of the device. Delivery was a little slower than i would have liked but was still within 2 weeks.

Quality and so convenient.

As advertized, this kit lets me do away with chainsaw files and hours of work. Sharpens in seconds. Don't let cheaper versions of this type of unit fool you. The special bar,special chain and special sharpener work as a unit. Amazing product.

This DOES NOT fit a Stihl saw at all.

Bought the advertised Stihl bar and chain. The pin hole does not fit any Stihl chainsaw, so the bar cannot be mounted. The hole is about 1/4" off where it should be. I might try drilling out the hole, but if that doesn't work, this is a waste of money. I have the bar an chain for my Craftsman, which works superbly.

Check to make sure it fits your saw

What an amazing chain. I cut over a cord of iron wood, not only did it hold up, it is better than conventional chains in this type of wood. Slices through spruce lime butter. Love the fact that it takes only 5 seconds to sharpen the saw. This will be my chain of choice moving forward.
