High quality tool

I have 5 Porter-Cable nail guns, which I am happy with, so I was interested in getting a P-C pin nailer for the set. The cost of the P-C pin nailer was too much, so I looked for alternatives. The Metabo pin nailer looked good and was reasonably priced so I took a chance. I am pleasantly surprised with the quality. I think the quality is better than P-C.'s It would have been nice to get an assortment of pin lengths with the kit, but I knew it didn't come with it so I bought some at the same time as the nailer. Tried the smallest length pin (5/8") and it worked flawlessly. I drove it thru 1/4" hardboard into MDF and it worked perfectly (no misfires or jams and drove pin flush). I will be using it to hold hardboard router templates and small box joints, so this was an important test. Very pleased with the purchase so far.

Really nice quality nailer

Very happy with this purchase. I already own a Makita brad nailer. Decided it would be good to have a pin nailer as well, when I was attaching hardwood edge banding. After some research I chose this because of ratings and price point. It's a solid and reliable performer. I saw that some let you use 1/2" or 3/8" but this one starts at 5/8". I don't think that's a problem. One weirdness is that one of the two depth adjustment screws was fused so tightly I need locking pliers to loosen it. But then it worked fine. Overall definitely recommend.

If you need it, you need it!

I went years not adding a pin nailer to my collection of nailers and every time that I pulled that 18 gauge out and had small trim to install I dreaded it and said I was going to buy a 23 gauge nailer. Well after all these years I finally bought myself one and after 2 uses I don't know what I would do without it now! I can't speak to the reliability of the Metabo but it is lightweight, easy on the hand and it worked flawlessly when I used it.

Misses nails just like my old one of the same model

I thought my old pin nailer was worn out and it was time for a new one. It wasn't beat up real bad, just starting misfiring. Now the new one performs exactly or worse than the old one.

Metabo HPT pin nailer

I did not want to spend a lot, but here it does pay the tools are great have not had a miss fire and they feel like a well made tool and when you add the price for the two tools along with the cases you just will not go wrong.

Inconsistent - Does Not Sink Nails Flush

I bought this Metabo nail gun based on the price and reviews. The quality of this gun is excellent however the performance is very inconsistent. About 90% of the time it works great. 10% of the time it doesn't sink the nails flush leaving the sharp pin heads protruding. This requires you to go back and manually countersink the nail heads using a punch and hammer which is time consuming and very inefficient. I tried adjusting the air pressure, adjusting the depth adjustment on the nail but still continued to have depth and countersinking issues. The other issue I have with this nail gun is the lack of a belt hook. I have several Bostitch nail guns and they all have belt hooks. While the build quality of this nail gun is good but the results are just too inconsistent for me. I don't know if I got a bad gun. I purchased mine off Amazon Warehouse Deals and got a great price. It was previously sold and returned. Perhaps for the same issue (I don't know). I ended up returning this nail gun and purchased a Bostitch instead. Yes the Bostitch was more money, but it also shoots longer nails, has a belt clip and is much more consistent.

Great pin nailer

Well packaged no damage from shipping, nice retail box for display, I was surprised the great case it came in. Inside there is the users manual, safety glasses, oil and pin gun. There is space to carry pin nails but there are no pin nails included. First issue was I had a automotive air line coupler on my hose so I went to a store and purchased a industrial female and switched my hose over. So if you have a automotive or ARO style air line coupler you will not be able to plug in your air hose in, it came with industrial. The gun is small and lite 2 pounds or 900 kilograms, it had tip on the gun to not damage the wood with a spare tip. It came with a decent Allen key that fits on the gun so you can adjust how deep the pin will go in wood, I do not know of a pin nailer that comes with soft tips or has a adjustable plate for depth. Facing the plate there is two screws loosen screws the if the pin is too deep slide up not deep enough like the pin head sticks out you slide down. Very quiet and I have a 2.5 gallon portable tank and after 10 pins it did not turn on so it uses very little air. It’s made in Taiwan so it’s a step up from made in China. I am very happy with my purchase.

Très bonne cloueuse fait un excellent travail je la recommande pour installer des appliqués Bordure, 1/4 de rond, moulures décoratifs etc. Le travail se fait proprement sans marque sur le bois, après un simple coup de pinceau il disparaissent

WHat's not to like?

I purchased this to do a finicky trim project around the house. I use air-powered brad nailers and staplers, but never a pin nailer. I was surprised and pleased with the weight and feel of this unit and amazed at the lack of recoil (my brad nailer would have put an extra dent in the soft wood, in addition to the brad). It arrived a day earlier than tracked and was only $5 more expensive than the house brand at the local tire and hardware store I would normally purchase from. Good value resulted in a great looking project.
