Not microwavable

This dishware is beautiful and durable, but it cannot be microwaved due to the metal edging.

Almost Guilt Free China, but I'm not a Fan of the Textured Design on Rims

When I saw this set in the photos, it looked absolutely beautiful, simple, elegant and clean. What the photos didn't show was the textured, pebbled design around the rim of each plate and saucer, and because I was not expecting this detail, I'm a bit disappointed. Here's the good stuff first: -Labeled Kate Spade, manufactured by Lenox in the United States. I think the quality of the glazing is beautiful, with no bubbling or flaws in any of the pieces. -Medium weight bone china - not as fine as my grandmother's feather weight fine china, but it also makes me less afraid to use it. -Allegedly dishwasher safe, but because there is a platinum ring on each dish, I think it would be easy to dull/age the dish ware. -Lovely neutral pattern, cream on cream, with dark brown lines on the inside of the rims. You could dress this up or down for any occasion or season. -Five practical pieces - dinner plate, salad plate, bread plate, and cup and saucer Here's what I didn't love: -The textured pebbling that wasn't apparent in the photos. I wouldn't have chosen this set if I had seen this. -Metallic rims preclude this set from being microwave or oven safe, so a bit fussier than an every day china.

You can't go wrong with this Lenox pattern

The pictures here do not do this pattern justice. It is elegant. It is understated. It could suit all the dinner situations that you could possibly run across--any season, any occasion, any group. This pattern will always be suitable. I have used Lenox china for decades and have never had any issues or complaints about it, whether I was using it right out of the box or after years and years of use. Lenox wears well--there is no doubt about that. The finish is always--no matter which pattern--very strong and durable. No matter if it is subject to knife blades or collisions with lead crystal glasses or the kitchen faucet, Lenox holds up. With care, it can last a lifetime. And this pattern is so pretty and timeless, your kids may actually want to see it passed down to them. Whether it's platinum or silver, I don't know. But both bands are metallic. The decal work is kind of a pebble-y look in bright white. The pebble look almost gives an iridescent effect in some lights. On the plates, the decal band is narrow, but on the cup's saucer, the band is wide, the entire distance between the silver banding. It is stunning. I can easily see that brides would zone in on this pattern. It's pretty much perfect. Matches with any decor, any food, and it's a pattern that is so pleasing to the eye that it's just wonderful to gaze upon.

Very pretty. Very pricey.

This is a feminine little platter. Rimmed with a thin band of silver and a lace-like design. The wider band is a pearly linen color and the innermost part is a pearly white. The piece is not heavy, nor is it thin like a fine China. What would I use it for? It's a 13" platter. Sliced pork or beef tenderloin would look pretty on it. It would fit roasted veggies on it quite nice. Bruschetta fanned round the outside with a ramekin of olive oil would also fit comfortably on this size platter. Lenox has a policy that states if you accidentally break your item, they will replace it for a 50% cost. That's generous. It was packaged in a darling pink box too, so it would make a great gift. I gave it 4 stars because I think the place detail is a little hokey. And because of the price of the item. Ouch. But, that said this really is a pretty piece to add to my own collection.

Beautiful design

This is a beautiful serving plate. It's designed with some subtle character. The outer rim has this foam looking effect around the entire plate. It's very cool looking. The plate is a bit on the thin side which is really my only negative with this item. I understand that there's some benefit with it being lighter but I worry that it will break easily. It's also a bit on the small side. For the price point, they are charging I would have expected a larger serving dish. Taking those elements out of the picture than it's a fantastic addition piece for your kitchen. Or as I always suggest with items like this, it is a fantastic gift item. Kate spade goes through great lengths with their presentation. This comes already packaged perfectly for the gift. A wedding present or bridal shower would be a perfect gift item. I love this collection though. I think there's just a beautiful elegance in the simplistic style this collection has.
