Mixed Feelings

When my Ott floor lamp broke I really missed the touch on/off feature as well as the ability to dim or brighten the light according to my need. I discovered smart light bulbs and decided to try them in my traditional floor lamp. It does not work by touch but is controlled by an app on my phone. What I Like: I like how easy it is to change the intensity of the light on the app. I like that if I turn light off with my phone, it comes back on that the same intensity even if I use the switch. What I don't like: I cannot turn the light on with my app unless the actual switch has been activated. I do not like how dim the light is at the highest level. Everything has an orange glow that I'm not crazy about. It is classified as "candlelight" so maybe some people want that look. I do not use Alexa due to privacy issues but I'm sure that would be a bonus feature for those who do. Overall I like the concept. I may just need to do a bit more research to find the bulb that is just right for me.

AMAZING!!

My husband and I have used these in our past few apartments. They are great!! They are easy to set up and use with Alexa, and when moving, they don't have to be reconnected if they are put on the same wifi. They are great quality and have definitely improved our home!

Great to wake up to.

I have the lightbulb scheduled to slowly (30 seconds) fade on weekday mornings and turn off automatically when I leave for work. It's reliable and such a pleasant way to get up. For the $13 price I hope it lasts about a year. The alarm clocks that do this are over $100. It was really easy to put the app on my ipad and schedule it. Could do all sorts of other things but I just wanted the sunrise feature.

I like the light because you can dim them.

I don’t like that all of a sudden they go off line and it’s almost impossible to put them back online by yourself . And when you call the company the wait is awful .

Works great with Alexa

I’ve had other smart bulbs, but I really like these the best. They work better with my Alexa. The other off brands would easily disconnect from my network and I would have to reset again.

Already Repurchased!

This lightbulb is incredible! I've already repurchased so that I can have it in more lamps in my home. I really love the schedule feature so that I'm not walking into a dark home in the winter, and I schedule it to turn on at the same time my alarm goes off in the morning, so it acts as a dupe for a sunrise alarm clock. I don't have an Alexa, Google Home, or Apple Home, so I can't speak to the integration aspect. I can speak to the Kasa app and I'll say that it's so easy to control this light (plus the two plugs I also have from Kasa), and setup is pretty simple.

Name brand! Known quality! Lights exactly as described and expected!!!

Having other Kasa Smart Home devices, did not have to download/install other software to control. Easy to setup. Easy to control in app. Easy to setup a schedule if desired (I use the Alexa routines for mine and work great). Alexa integration for voice control of lights works great!

Fácil de configurar, mantiene la conexión con mi router básico. API disponible

Tengo un router muy básico de Tenda y dos focos tp-link, hasta el momento no he tenido problema con desconexiones que se mencionan en opiniones anteriores. Ventajas Se puede controlar completamente desde Google Home sin la aplicación KASA. Compatible con Google Assistant y Alexa. Se pueden crear reglas para encendido y apagado de acuerdo a la hora y día. Se puede encender o apagar desde cualquier lugar del mundo siempre y cuando tengas internet. Se pueden variar los niveles de intensidad Tiene un API disponible para modificar su funcionamiento desde línea de comandos (https://github.com/GadgetReactor/pyHS100). Desventajas Demasiado caro para lo que ofrece

Buena iluminación y buena conectividad wifi

TP-LINK es una de las mejores marcas por su rendimiento y su precio. Este foco no es la excepción. La luz ilumina muchísimo al 100% (igual o más que un foco incandescente y más que varios focos ahorradores) tanto así que generalmente uso el foco con el brillo al 50% o al 75%. Con el brillo al 1% es excelente para cuándo te levantas a media noche por un vaso de agua y no quieres encender por completo la luz para no sentir molestia en los ojos. También la configuración es tan simple y rápida que el foco se conectó en menos de 2 minutos. Usarlo con wifi es lo más sencillo del mundo.

Se desconfiguran con facilidad

Compré un par de focos con la intención de utilizarlos mediante Alexa. Es necesario instalar primero una app llamada Kasa para configurarlos, es muy sencillo. Después se debe abrir una skill en la app de Alexa para poder relacionarlos con la app de Kasa y listo. Debo admitir que la intensidad de los focos es muy buena y la velocidad de respuesta también es muy rápida. Sin embargo el principal inconveniente es el siguiente: para que el foco funcione es necesario tener el interruptor de pared encendido todo el tiempo, la app (ya sea Kasa o Alexa) controlará en encendido, apagado, atenuación y todas las funciones del foco, esto significa que si se corta el suministro de luz (ya sea apagando el interruptor de pared, o una falla en el sistema eléctrico) el foco se desconfigura y ya no se podrá utilizar con la app de Kasa Alexa, únicamente de forma manual. Por consiguiente se deben repetir los pasos de configuración. En mi caso fue muy latoso. Era muy fácil que alguien, por error, apagara el interruptor de pared o que hubiera una falla de luz (algo de todos los días en mi casa). También considera que si tienes un dimmer en tu apagador de pared estos focos no te van funcionar. En mi caso la solución fue comprar un apagador de pared con wi-fi de la marca Leviton: vinculé la app del apagador con Alexa y ahora controlo todas las funciones de iluminación sin ningún problema mediante comandos de voz.

Buenos pero se desconectan mucho.

Son buenos, eficientes y sobre todo, fueron económicos. Si bien entiendo que obtienes lo que pagas, el único pero que le encuentro a este producto es que se desconectan mucho aún teniendo excelente señal del router. Tengan paciencia con las funciones de este producto, no siempre se activan al momento que lo pides. Yo uso Google nest y Google mini en diferentes partes de mi casa y es frustrante cuando pides que encienda y no se logra conectar. De ahí en fuera el producto es bueno, no es tan brilloso pero es suficiente para mí y mi esposa.

Un buen Foco Inteligente pero muy complicado volver a configurarlo

En general este foco es de muy buena calidad y respaldado por una marca de renombre, la configuracion inicial para usarlo con dispositivos Alexa es relativamente sencilla, aunque se tiene que descargar una aplicacion adicional que se llama Kasa y tienes que conectar tu celular mediante una red Wifi en el foco, una vez realizado los pasos indicados despues se instala una Skill en la aplicacion de Alexa que ya te permite apagar/encender el foco y por supuesto la intensidad de la luz por ejemplo un 25%, 50% o 100%, estaba muy contento con la compra, sin embargo mi descontento viene al querer volver a configurar el foco, es algo que llevo intentanto algunos dias y no he podido hacerlo, la ayuda y soporte de la pagina TP-Link realmente no me ha ayudado y no he podido volver a configurarlo, haciendo que se convierta en un foco tradicional sin funciones inteligentes, al leer las instrucciones para empezar una configuracion desde cero, unicamente se dice que se debe apagar y encender el interruptor 3 veces seguidas y el foco iniciara el modo de configuracion pero nada ocurre, si puedes invertir un poco mas mejor comprar uno marca Phillips Bluetooth, ya que la aplicacion de Phillips y una configuracion desde cero es mucho mas sencilla e intuitiva de hacer y los focos que tengo de esa marca no tuve ningun problema en volver a configurarlos.
