Worked well for postpartum belly
I chose this after considering MANY options. I didn't like the options that had a panty/crotch attached, as it seemed it would be a real hassle to use the restroom, need washing more often, and be more uncomfortable. I liked several other waist binding options, but didn't want to spend a large amount of money on one or they didn't have a small enough size. I finally settled on this binder. I am/was very pleased with it. I found it comfortable on my skin (even though it says to wear over fabric), it didn't bunch up much, and had enough adjustability to put on 3 days after delivery and take me back to almost normal size. I did run out of Velcro, but found that the Velcro stuck to the fabric fine anyway, so it was able to go small enough for my waist. Pre pregnancy I had a 25" waist, and although I haven't measured, I'm back in my regular clothes and am skinny (although still soft and fluffy). I think this helped me shrink back down faster, although it does nothing for toning - that's what exercise is for. The other thing it helped with majorly was back support. It really helped me feel supported and more comfortable. I am now 3 weeks postpartum and still put it on when my back is hurting to help feel relief. I did find that this laid flat enough to wear under clothing if one wanted to, but not tight tops. I preferred to only wear mine at home during the day when I could take it off if I desired. Unless you wear low rise underwear, this will go over them, making using the restroom somewhat of a hassle - you either need to take it off or pull on it to adjust everything again. Basically if you want an affordable option to help put things back and give you back support after pregnancy, this would be a good option for you.

Great daytime support
This binder has been great for support during the day. I alternate this binder with the one from the hospital. I don’t like this one at night. It is too stiff in front. It rides up and is painful. The front panels are much stiffer than the back. This was not clear to me.

Fantastic ongoing support!
After over 20 abdominal and intestinal surgeries since 2001, I have a sheet of mesh across my abdomin rather than abdominal muscles. Mesh is not known to hold shape over large areas, so it's like having one large, moving hernia that swells and churns it's way around my belly as it digests. To keep ladies from rubbing my belly and asking when I'm due (and then becoming upset when I explain it intestines they are rubbing- not a baby), I have come to depend upon binders. They also provide lumbar support, a flatter looking stomach, and it eases the churning that happens when you have an unsupported intestinal tract. After trying many models of a large variety of brands, I have come to depend upon the ITA-MED 9" 3 panel as my daily go-to. They provide unparalleled support, are more durable than any other brand I've tried, are less likely to roll an bind while providing uniform support. I know many like their binders on the looser side, stating the binder breaths better or is more comfortable. For me, long term, it's much more comfortable if my innards are all held in place and swelling due to intestines rubbing on mesh is minimized. I've made the mistake of ordering the "recommended " size a couple times only to find it didn't give me the needed support (and when looser, it tends to hunch and roll). Instead, I order a size down. To put it on, I lay done on my bed, rub my hand across my abdomen to relax out, flatten bulges and smooth my intestines, and then I stretch it and secure it around my abdomen prior to standing. This way, my intestines stay where they go, are less likely to spasm, and the rest of the world can stay blissfully unaware (and away) from my belly issues!

Good so far
I have a large incisional hernia on the lower abdomen, which was repaired, but eventually the repair failed. The repair left me quite sick and I'm afraid to go through another; I'm 78 years old and don't want another 5 months (or more!) recovering from a hernia repair. I talked to my primary care doctor and he thinks I can avoid another surgery if I'm careful. This morning, I wore this binder after following has instructions on how to place it. He said I should put it on before getting out of bed in the morning, when the hernia has retracted. There are NO instructions at all with this Binder, except that it should be hand washed. You will definitely want to talk to your doctor about how to use it. The binder was comfortable enough, though I'd like it somewhat narrower, maybe 7 inches wide. When I put it on this morning, I didn't try to make it especially tight. I spent a couple of hours at the park with my dogs. I wasn't very active, mostly sitting, but walking was not a problem. I don't know if this will be a long term solution for me, but so far it seems promising.

Used for after mastectomy
I used this for after a double mastectomy without reconstruction. It worked really well and the measurements were accurate. There is a soft padded area that was large enough to cover most of my incisions. And the hook velcro fit perfectly and didn't go over the sides of the loop velcro to scratch my skin. I have washed it a couple times, but I let it air dry and did not use the dryer. I was concerned with shrinkage due to some of the reviews but by air drying I did not have that problem.

Very good for protection after my hernia operation.
Very good protection after my hernia operation. Made me feel very secure and comfortable. My only complaint is that it got very "bally" in spots. My surgeon recommended I purchase this type of device and I'm glad I did!
