Bike rack

At first I was thinking that this rack was over price for holding one bike. But when finally installed it and put my ebike on. I was very very happy with the purchase of this rack. Held my ebike in place minimal wobble. One thing that I recommend to this bike company they should've installed a lock on the arms. But not a big deal because it came with a cable that locks on to the rack. Also no need to use a pin lock. Maybe in the future of the newer racks models they make. But I highly recommend this rack with one bike or the two bike racks.

Super easy to assemble and mount

Built well and super easy to assemble. Instructions suck so I would suggest going to Youtube which is what I did. It does not shake or wobble. It's a total of 6 bolts to tighten and assembly is done. Make sure to do this work while it's on the hitch so you're not wrestling this on the floor or couch. Be sure to tighten the knob and use that safety pin. If you're vehicle has parking sensors with automatic braking you will probably have to turn those off. Very happy with this product.

Very Stable (contrary to other reviews)

I am writing this review for those who are concerned about the complaints of a wobble.. it does not wobble if you properly install. I was very hesitant in purchasing this bike rack because there were some reviews indicating the rack wobbles while driving. Especially with heavy ebikes. I have a 50 lb ebike. I bought this rack anyway because the one I wanted was out of stock with no known restock date due to all the recent shipping issues. But I also bought it because another reviewer said he took care of the wobble with a $15 hitch stabilizer. I figured I could always return it if it didn’t seem stable. First off, I believe part of the issue is very inadequate instructions. This is why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. If they would provide a few more detailed steps and information, they could likely eliminate bad reviews on this product... because it is a good product... read on and see. What I discovered also, as I assembled it, was that the instructions don’t emphasize enough to be sure you tighten the hitch securely by turning the key lock Allen bolt at the opposite end of the hitch. It tells you to just turn it by hand. But you should use a socket wrench. Also, some people may not fully understand that tightening step, as it’s not real clear... and if you don’t cinch it down well, then for sure it will wobble. I used a wrench to turn it. When you turn it, it causes a shim inside the hitch to wedge in so it can’t come out. I believe the wobble complainers did not understand that.... because there is no way it will wobble if you tighten that wedge that is inserted into your hitch. Again, the wedge that is part of the end that inserts into your hitch is tightened by turning the Allen bolt on the opposite end where the key / lock is. But I suggest using a socket wrench to tighten it... don’t just tighten by hand as the inadequate instructions suggest. If you do that, you will be happy with this product. I didn’t even need the extra hinge stabilizer, which is simply a u bolt and nuts as shown in the photo. However, I added it for good measure since I’m carrying an $8k ebike. It doesn’t hurt to add another layer of protection for another $10-$15. I took a test drive through a local bumpy and curves mountain road. No movement. No wobble. No bouncing at all. Very stable and secure.

100% recommended is easy to used and my backup sensor on my Ford Explorer doesn’t affect my truck opens up without putting down the bike carrier

Love this design but it could be even better

I really like the simple design but they should make the locking pin go all the way through an secure on the other side instead of the tension spring load. It would also be great if they would ditch the inner arm adjustment that holds the tire and just make the arms themselves adjust up and down to suit your tire size. It would be great if the arms actually could lock in place once they are ratcheted down. That said this hold my 65 pound ebike with easy. I love that it can tilt out to allow me to drop the tailgate on my SSR. If you follow the directions you should be able to install it tight enough that it will not rattle at all. I did reinforce the locking cable with an additional lock of my own as I had a bike stolen off this same model. Which I doubt would have happened if they had incorporated my suggestions above. But I still like the rack I have just done my own modifications to make it more secure. I also added red reflector tape to it for better visibility at night.

Excellent but better installation instructions are needed

Several reviewers mentioned how the rack would sway when loaded. I had the same issue after installing until discovering a hidden bolt behind the locking cover. First, install the rack into your car hitch and insert the safety pin. Then use the included keys to unlock the cover and you'll find a 13mm bolt. Get a wrench and tighten this until very snug. This expands a device on the rack tongue that pushes it against the hitch, eliminating any sway. All other features are really handy, especially the tilt feature, allowing access to the rear door. Better installation instructions would have given this rack 5 stars.

Great design, easy to use with bike

Live this design. Loading and unloading a mountain bike is very easy. Only complaint is that locking a bike is not that easy / quick. We have resorted to using a chain lock directly to the wheel holder instead of the included cable lock. This is more secure than the cable, and faster to install. Also, changing the angle of the rack, to access our rear hatch area, is really easy. Even when a bike is loaded on the rack, it is easy to drop it out of the way and to move it back to the upright position. Overall a great design with great quality. Plus free Prime shipping could not be beat for something this big.
