Quality of this product
Basically I like this product, the handling is easy and water pressure is good enough to cleanup teeth.

this is a superior product. I recommend it to anyone and everyone
By any measure, this is a superior product. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. First of all, I have found that ANY decent model of oral irrigator / aqua flosser successfully removes more bits of food / debris from between my teeth than simply brushing and flossing alone. Try this yourself by brushing and flossing, and THEN using your oral irrigator/aqua flosser, particularly after a meal which leaves a lot of debris stuck to your teeth and along your gum line, and when you spit into the sink, you will see what I mean. I have only my personal experience to back up this hypothesis, but I strongly believe that persons who use an oral irrigator / aqua flosser regularly after eating will have healthier teeth and gums in the long run than persons who do not use one. I plan on living as long as the rest of my body will allow, so dental care has become a very high priority in my life. Take care of your teeth (and body) now and they will take care of you! The best thing about using an oral irrigator, perhaps, is that it takes very little additional time out of your day – 30 seconds per session is sufficient in my experience. I use my oral irrigator after each time I eat (after every meal and snack), allowing me to clean between my teeth, eliminate the buildup of would-be cavity-causing foodstuffs wedged between my teeth and along the gum line, and also avoid excessive brushing (I still brush 2-3x per day). Combine this oral irrigator with a Sonicare or similar high quality electric toothbrush and Oral B Glide dental tape (wider and more shred-resistant than standard/cheap dental floss – it will remove more debris and is less likely to make your gums bleed), and, depending on your diet, your dentist / hygienist will tell you that you are doing a PERFECT job of taking care of your teeth. I just went in for a dental cleaning – it had been a full calendar year since my last one – and my hygienist reported, highly impressed, that I had very little plaque or tartar and was doing an excellent job at caring for my teeth and gums. NOW THEN, WHY IS THIS PANASONIC MODEL SUPERIOR TO ITS COMPETITORS? I see THREE REASONS, right off the bat: FIRST: it is powered by REMOVABLE AA cell batteries. This means that the life of this oral irrigator is not limited to the lifespan of an internal rechargeable battery. Most models of oral irrigators I have seen rely on internal batteries, which are often Ni-MH or Ni-Cad, which will degrade over time. (In fact, before I bought this Panasonic model, I purchased a Waterpik brand oral irrigator from Target, about 2 years ago. I have been very pleased with this model, but by now the battery life is beginning to diminish noticeably. It still does a great job of cleaning between my teeth and along the gum line, but it is on the decline, and it also takes up twice as much space in my little medicine cabinet as compared with the Panasonic model.) That being said, I recommend using RECHARGEABLE AA cell batteries, for the savings in $$, time, electricity/energy, and waste, as compared with disposable alkaline AA cells. AND, if you are traveling internationally and don’t have access to electrical power, you can swap out batteries or find disposable alkaline AA cells in many countries. P.S. the tool-free battery compartment with O-ring stays tightly shut & waterproof, but is easy to open with a coin or washer or similar item. SECOND: this unit collapses to take up minimal space when not in use. I find this just as useful when traveling as when I am at home, because it is extremely space-efficient. THIRD: Because of the way the water intake straw is designed (it is spring-loaded and reaches to the very bottom of the water compartment), this model of oral irrigator provides a steady stream of water until the tank is essentially completely empty. Some other models of oral irrigator, such as my original Waterpik one, do not do so well in this regard. My only critique thus far is that there is no carrying case included, but for this price point (I paid $27 on Amazon for my Panasonic model in May 2016 and then as a Christmas present for a family member, I bought a second one and paid $30 on Newegg in December 2016 – both quite a bit cheaper than the Waterpik model I purchased a couple of years prior), this is a fantastic model of oral irrigator / aqua flosser, and, hey, Ziploc bags are ubiquitous, cheap, and come in a wide range of sizes. I recommend carrying it in a Ziploc bag if you are traveling between uses, to keep remaining drips of water from spilling into your suitcase / backpack. And I do like the 2 water pressure settings (low and high pressure), which my original Waterpik model also has. BATTERY LIFE: I am highly impressed: the first one month of use, “aqua flossing” after each meal and snack, I was able to get an ENTIRE MONTH out of my Panasonic oral irrigator before recharging the batteries. This is WAY BEYOND the capacity of my Waterpik model, which (as stated in the user’s manual) should be charged twice weekly if using it 2 or more times per day. So there you have it, folks! I rarely write product reviews but have been so mightily impressed by the design and features and capabilities of this Panasonic oral irrigator that I couldn’t help but share my experience with the world. Hopefully it at least inspires you to buy / ask for and begin using an aquaflosser regularly. You won’t regret it, and your teeth and gums will feel noticeably cleaner after each post-meal use. Best Regards, David S., Montana, U.S.A.

It works! But round plug falls off ????
Update/Edit. I still love the flosser BUT the round hinged plug that holds the water in keeps falling off. So far I have been able to pop it back on but I have concern that it may pop off and I will lose it. Not taking any stars away because I thought I had given this 5 stars, but only gave 4. So am no longer keen on taking it on trips. I'm (still) glad I got this water flosser because it works well for me. I have an older electric one which is a pain to use. This (battery) flosser is not as strong as the electric but filling it with water is so much easier and I am glad the strength of the water spray is not as strong, because the electric one was messy. With this portable flosser, I just lean over the sink and point the nozzle toward my gums, keeping my mouth partially open and allowing the water to pour into the sink. It's really rather gratifying to see the bits of food in the sink. I floss after the water pick and find that I get very little matter on the floss. Follow with a good electric brushing and "it's a great feeling!" :)

A very good unit...read the review please
I have two cordless water flossers-this Panasonic and a Hangsun both bough on Amazon. I rate them both at 4 stars with the Hangsun slightly higher. Here's why The Panny holds 7 ounces of liquid and the Hangsun holds 10. I only need 4 ounces to floss so either works well that way. But that advantage goes to the Hangsun. Both put out good water pressure but the Hangsun puts out a slightly harder water stream. Both will go through 7 ounces of water in about a minute with the Panny getting an extra few seconds. Advantage to Hangsun The reservoir in the Hangsun is removable and easily rinsed. The Pannys reservoir is internal to the unit and cannot be removed. The bottom of the Panny is removable so you can still rinse it out. Advantage Hangsun Quality of construction and fit and finish are good on both units with the Panny being slightly more refined. Advantage Panasonic The Pañny has a charger base that the unit sits on to charge. The Hangsun has a USB wall charger with cable and a protective plug cover that can easily get lost. Advantage Panasonic The Pañny is smaller and easier to handle for small hands but not by much. Both can be handled comfortably by adults. Advantage neither. The Hangsun is under $40 while the Panny is $85 or so. In addition the Hangsun comes with extra tips and the Panny only comes with one other jet tip. Advantage Hangsun. Overall the Hangsun gets the gold medal here. If you want a smaller version of it there is the Smile Direct handheld flosser sold here with the 5oz reservoir which is otherwise identical to the Hangsun. There are also other units under different names that look like the Hangsun and probably perform just like it. They even come in different colors! Either flosser will get the job done well. Decide based on price, added accessories, fluid capacity, and convenience. Both are quite good

Brilliant, even better than the old version
The older version worked very well but this one (now with two speeds) is even better, seriously powerful tooth and gum cleaning power. I use high power rechargeable NiMh AA batteries which work well. The amount of debris it removes is hard to believe after a meal.

Good product!
Very good product! Since I started using it (at the same time as my new electronic toothbrush), my dentist has only given me praise about the condition of my teeth and said I've been taking good care of my oral hygiene! I have always had bad teeth which have lead to two crowns at a young are, so hearing that from my dentist is reassuring! My grandfather has a condition which has caused his gums to become so weak he has started loosing his teeth. I am not a dentist but I think this product can prevent that as it gets rid of plaque which can cause receding gums. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with crowns as I find that food gets stuck at the side of them so much more easily than my own teeth and this product has saved me from very painful situations when regular floss did nothing to help! Only thing to watch out for is that this products runs on batteries, instead of being rechargeable. I didn't realise this until I got the product so purchased a battery charger too. Would have preffered a chargeable one, which Panasonic do make as well. My reason for 4 stars however, is that fact that it is a little difficult to clean. Food pieces have got stuck between the blue and white moving part of the irrigator and its such a narrow space, I haven't been able to get them out. So after a while it has started to look a bit manky!

Good unit, noisy
Good unit, noisy, large. water tank is small so u run out of water quickly. On occasion I still have to resort to using a disposable flosser. Battery is still going strong after two or more weeks of use. Instructions says do not use re-chargeable batteries, batteries will corrode? At the price, it's good value Maybe I will at some point in the future buy one of the more expensive units with a large reservoir.

Fun to use but you don't want to get the ...
Fun to use but you don't want to get the jet in the wrong place. I bought it because I found flossing fiddly esp. with back teeth. It reaches all the gaps without problems and the first time I used it I felt quite ashamed of the junk that came out. It is messy and the motor uses batteries quite heavily but once you get the knack it's fine and very good to have.

Better than Flossing!
Surprisingly powerful although you must remember to renew the water as it goes stale quickly. Unfortunately battery life with the purchase was poor ... I would recommend as flossing can have an adverse affect on your gums and this swishes through really nicely. Recommended.
