Almost Perfect Rectangular Soap Dish Has Some Gotcha's to Nag at You

My initial reaction was "5-STAR!" but now that I've bought and used 3 of the rectangular ones for a while, I find it a 4-STAR item, not quite all that I wished it could be. Even so, I enjoy using the dishes a lot and like them a lot better than the dishes that they replaced. The downsides are 1) the dishes are flexible, 2) there are no sides to speak of, and 3) the little nubbins that support the soap become slippery as hell with use. This means if you try to carry the dish with soap in it, the flex, the slipperiness, and the no sides is likely to send the soap skiing out if you're not mindful. Or if the side of your sink has any slant, as our kitchen sink does back next to the faucet, if you put the soap down and knick it to any extent with your hand or let go of the soap with any motion, the soap may go tobogganing into a pan of dish detergent and end up a gooey mess when you only discover it there an hour or two later. After buying this product, I discovered that our longtime kitchen sink divider, which I like a lot, is also by InterDesign. So they are a great company with very useful, original ideas. Just wish this dish was not so flexible, had a bit of sides, and perhaps even better could be like a rack on a slant. Because even with all the nice little nubbins holding the soap up and giving it a lot of air space underneath to dry, the soap typically lies so flat, it doesn't drain as well as when I was just propping the soap up against the side of a classic old soap dish. So the soap never seems to get as dry as I expected it to be with such an "open air" design.

I thought there were drain holes. There are not.

I bought this as a soap dish for the shower. I wanted my soap to not sit in a puddle of water while not in use. This item has no drain holes. I got out my leather punch and filled it with holes. Now it is prefect.

Perfect for my need. Keeps the counter clean, With less work. Very expensive, and can be tossed in the dishwasher.

That it is a flexible plastic soap dish

I was surprised this was a flexible & soft plastic soap dish as I ordered another oval soap dish very similar several months from here that was hard plastic. Actually this one is nicer as it sits better on the vanity and will not slide around when touched. This one is rectangular for square soaps and my other one is oval for Dove soap or oval cakes so I do need both sizes but really like this "soft" feature.

It Works Great

This is a great basic soap saver. I use Vegan soap, which can get mushier and stickier than regular soap. If this soap saver works this great for Vegan soap, it will be even better for regular soap. 1. It effectively keeps the soap dry, even in the shower (away from the water flow, though). 2. It's a bit larger, which will fit a larger bar of soap. 3. It does NOT have holes in the bottom. If you want holes you can easily drill them without damaging the soap saver. 4. It's made from a flexible, thick, rubbery like plastic. 5. Vegan soap does not stick to it. 6. It's not the cutest thing to put on the bathroom counter. It does look perfect inside the shower, though.

solved my soap issue and that's enough for me to love it.The soap bar is completely dry whenever I shower. Just make sure to empty the water that's filled inside when you're done with the shower to prevent it from ruining the bar later. UPDATE: - After using it for a couple of few months I got tired of the water and it collects, there should be some openings at the bottom to drain the water which in turn makes the soap bar drier for a longer period of time. - The item is certainly overpriced compared to other similar designs in the market.

Perfect-just what I was looking for!

I ended up ordering three for the 3 different soaps we use. They are a perfect size for the niche in our shower. They don’t move around and hold the soap well. Best soap dish I have ever had.

Práctico, ayuda a mantener el área limpia.

Mantiene el jabón alejado del agua, mientras evita que el agua escape (hablo del modelo sin orificios inferiores). Es lo que necesitaba, ya que no quería que se manchara la superficie en donde lo iba a colocar. Para limpiarlo basta con ponerlo unos segundos bajo el chorro de agua.

Fits 2 standard soap bars

The material makes makes the item adhere to the porcelain of the sink so it doesn't slip any chance it gets. It is large enough to hold 2 standard sized bars of soap side to side. I wish the borders were a bit taller so the soaps wouldn't slide if you keep the dish at an angle.
