Simple Product
I've been looking for a timer for my rain barrel for a long time and finally I find one, Made in China! I'm impressed with the simplicity of the product and it works. The US brand name companies have products with a back flow preventer, so don't work with rain barrels. I would suggest that the product packaging be modified to say: "Do not connect to portable water supplies, no back flow preventer". There is also a green light indicator, that comes on when the batteries are getting weak. Normally, we see green as meaning something good. Maybe the light could be made amber or red color. I like that it uses AAA batteries, as those are cheaper than 9-volt batteries.

Works great but water now, timer works later.
The timer uses an internal crystal for the timing pulses and not a clock. Because of this, when you set the timer to operate at some later time and duration, it starts counting from the time you set it. For example, if it is 9:00 AM and you set the timer to operate every other day for 30 minutes, It will operate at 9:00AM two days later for 30 minutes. So if you want to set it to operate as described above, go ahead and turn it on and do the watering then set it for the future operation. Also the indentations on the control knobs are hard to see so I just put a dot of white finger nail polish in the indents, works fine.

Works as described
Timer works as described. It is easy to use and has been reliable. I hooked it up to a misting system in my chicken run to combat the extreme heat we have been having. The only thing that would have made it better for my purposes, is the ability to set it for a certain number of hours per day.

works ok, not water proof
Wanted this for use with a gravity watering system for garden. Does what it says and does work. It's a ball valve on a servo so no pressure required. Flow rate is very low as the orifice is very small, approx 1/4" through the valve. Then it got wet and it completely quite working with a solid green light. After a day of being inside on my desk, it magically started working again. I may use again but not for what I was trying to do. Gravity feed won't work for my situation and I ordered a pump and timer reluctantly. Anyway, research gravity feed systems if that's what you are looking to do, might not do what you want. Also do not let this get wet even though its a water product.

Timer works, just not apparent at first
This water timer does work. The first time you set the frequency and run time, the thing doesn't come on. For instance, if you set the frequency to 6 hours, and run time to 20 minutes, you literally have to wait 6 hours before it first starts watering, instead of coming on right away to run for the initial 20 minutes. After you first install it, run it manually by turning the run time knob to 'On' and let it run for however long you desire. After you shut it off, set the frequency and the run time. I still gave it 5 stars in spite of this feature (or rather, design flaw). Overall, it does work as it should.

Seem to work just fine. Will work in gravity systems.
Just got several. Put batteries in and 'bench tested' fine. Will have to see how they hold up in the field. (have been disappointed in past products) A little concerned about the flimsy flip-up cover. A little pricey. Note: I have noticed several other customers searching Q&A inquiring about use of timers in low pressure/ gravity fed systems such as a water barrel... This is a ball valve, actuated by the servo motor and, as such, requires no line pressure/ water to operate. The diaphragm valves in the more expensive models require a minimum 20-25 lbs line pressure to actuate and will not work in gravity dependent systems.

Simpler is better
Tired of aged two B-hyve Smart Hose Faucet Timers with Wi-Fi Hub (that have complex software control with many features I never used, in addition the need for frequent battery replacement) - I was looking for something simple. I am very happy with two Hydrofarm HGWT Electronic Water Timers. The setting is intuitive without manual. Probably it is not possible to make it simpler. There is no setting for a clock so as a consequence if you like to start watering each day in particular time then you should do setting in that time. It is no problem for me. I like it and I recommend it for everyone looking for simplicity. Time will show how it is reliable.

Buena relación precio calidad
Me parece un buen producto, sería mucho más útil si pudiera programarse en cualquier horario, es decir, si deseas programarlo para las 6:00 am la primera vez que vas a programarlo es necesario levantarse a las 6:00 am.

Garbage
Beyond unimpressed. What absolute garbage. If I could leave a 0 star rating, I would. I ordered 2 of these because they were relatively cheap and I wasnt looking for anything fancy, just for a simple timer that would work for a few days here and there when I'm away. My package arrived yesterday and I find that one package is open and the battery cover is loose in the box. The cover to the timer is scuffed up and there are pieces of grass under it... it had obviously been used. The open package was also missing the instructions (not that they were needed but that's irrelevant because the product should have been NEW). I then opened the second timer and found that the cover was all scuffed up as well. I tried hooking the newer looking timer up to the hose and found that it could not form a tight seal. Both are being returned. I will say that Amazon Customer Service was excellent but I'm very unhappy with the quality of product received.

Buena opción costo beneficio para huertos urbanos.
El compartimiento de las baterías es un poco débil y hay que protegerlo de la lluvia. colocando cinta de Teflon se aisló sin problema. A un mes de haberse instalado ha funcionado sin problemas.

1 season. Work well but programming is awkward.
Updated. I have 4 of these. Just downgraded to 2 star because they only last 1-2 seasons before getting electronically glitchy. I'm done wasting my very precious well water. Work well but programming is awkward. The don't come on when you turn the knob. You actually have to wait that time period. But they do work reliably once you figure that out. Instructions could be better and more specific

Acceptable for the price
Considering the price this is an acceptable timer. It has no clock to set, and works from the time the tap is 1st turned on. That means if you want it going on every morning at 4:00 am you need to turn it on the 1st time at 4:00 am and set it to repeat every 24 hours. It's not that accurate so don't be surprised to come home from a 3 week vacation and find it going on at a completely different time. It's a bit fiddly to get it started so allow a couple of days to make sure it's working. The final statement in the troubleshooting guide says "If the timer still doesn't work, please contact the store from which you brought it" That tells you all you need to know.
